Wednesday

Hi guys I am feeling a bit ranty which is a sure sign that I am tired and grumpy. It seems to be my resting state these days.
My fridge is almost covered in those postcards from kindly vets and eye doctors, and ladyparts doctors and every other reminder known to man. You know, the ones reminding you that missed a vaccination, examination, posturation, or elevation some months ago.  I do appreciate them, because it would not be possible for me to get a pet or a ladypart to the doctor every year without them.
I thinking " we just went to the vet" and suddenly the dog wouldn't be vaccinated four years. The same applies to the ladyparts doctors... Two years ? Are you serious? I'm still wincing. It can't be two years.
I know Christmas is coming, and I have documented my growing disassociation with it here on the blog before. Can I be arsed digging out the tree, assembling the tree, decorating the tree, protecting the tree from whatever weird cat cult ceremonies they want to perform on the tree, for it to sit in the corner until the big day, upon which folks will arrive, ignore the tree and spend the day eating foods in the garden ?
Maybe I could just throw some tinsel in the cherry tree.... (It would be more than I managed last year)
How are you doing? You ok.? Have you started, finished, ignored or ticked non-applicable to the craziness? Are you sick of every retail person in the world asking how you are going with your Christmas shopping? (Just laugh and say don't you mean Easter?- it stops them talking to you)
I finish real work on the 20th and then I am going to do some baking. i'm quite looking forward to day in the kitchen, in the quiet, on my own, baking stuff and drinking tea. In fact it sounds like freakin Nirvana right now.
My kids have given me no instructions and look set to recieve a stocking full of nothing on the day but we will have lunch under the cherry tree (weather permitting) and there will be tinsel.
(Oh yeah pictures aren't working. They can't be arsed either)

Biology 101

Tucked deep inside our bodies is a tiny little gland. It is not much to look at and very few people, outside medical circles even know of its existence. It is red and blobby like almost all internal stuff and most of us won't ever need to hear about it.
It controls a lot of our day-to-day stuff and it works hard and keeps us on the straight and narrow ...until it doesn't.
In hindsight I should have known things were a bit weird, but I just pushed on, as people do. I convinced myself there was nothing a few good nights sleep couldn't fix. The signs were all there, but as the symptoms mirror my general GOW (Grumpy Old Woman)  symptoms, I just ignored them.

Anyway friends, it turns out my people-er is broken. Apparently I did some serious damage to it while in Houston. I overworked the poor thing and instead of resting when I got home I launched straight in the Australian Trade Show and spent two full days peopleing like a lunatic.
I answered forty five thousand emails, promised eleventy hundred promises and talked a million talks.

My people-er is totally shredded. Doctor's have rarely seen one so trashed. It is barely able to cope with the necessary peopleing required to hold down a day job and not bite the relatives but it can not do anymore.
I want to slap people...often. I want to rant at the stupidity of the human race. I want to go into my sewing room and never come out. I want only to commune with dogs and cats and passing lemurs.
Yeah yeah, I know it is my own fault. I peopled too hard and too often.
I binged and I apologise -  I swear I will people more responsibly in the future!

I am sure there are others out there with the same affliction, Doctor's say it is most prevalent at this time of the year. Look after yourselves friends. Drink some tea, have a nap, chat to the lemurs....
See you soon.

All the new stuffs and sleep and about 4 weeks till Portland

I am almost stopped.

Of course there were many many more new things planned for me to have ready before Portland but not only will there be no time, there will be no room in the suitcase for them either.

Madame Sausage is almost ready

I am a little bit sick (My throat is like the fire of Hades) but mostly just strangely tired. I sleep deeply every night and then BAM wide awake at ungodly O’clock pondering the fate of the world, gusseted button joints and how to cook tuna for the following night’s dinner. Does this happen to you ? I have to say it is a special kind of dementing .

I’ve been told its quite common in “Ladies of a certain age”

Apparently it is also quite common for sleep addled ladies “of a certain age” to lean in and slap people.

Choose your own adventure

1. Jodie is such a caring person, full of the spirit of Christmas. She lovingly cut and pasted personalised gift tags for all her Christmas gifts.

2. Jodie forgot to buy gift tags and refuses to go anywhere a near a shop so she hacked up the weekend newspaper to make gift tags for the family Kris Kringle (and the rest of the non-public gifts have people’s name written on the wrapping in sharpie)

may your halls be decked..if hall decking is your thing.

I am here

and all over the place at the same time. I have spent the whole weekend ripping up old lino and carpet. (and I wished the lino layers had been hopeless just-glue-around-the-edges kinda guys but they were hard working glue that lino down to within an inch of its life kinda guys). Picture screwdrivers and paint scrapers and swearing and blisters and the odd throwing of implements. Imagine aching knees and worn elbows and fractious temperaments.

So right now I am feeling pretty ragged, that creeping around on the knees for hours is not fun. My camera which has floor photos (very dull) and dog photos (quite nice) and softie photos on it, is approximately 3 metres away in another room. It may as well be on Mars. I love you, you know that, all you bloggy folks but I am not getting up from this chair until I go to bed.

In the mean time I can tell you that the hedgie pattern is finally released.hedgiesps2

and called Hedgehog Circus. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me name these guys. In the end I just had to randomly pick a winner.

Fiona of Bubz rugz

I can tell you that I have missed blogging lately and just have not been able to get my act together enough to manage it but I am hoping to do better. I could also tell you I have a little newsletter sign up box up there in the right hand corner. I was thinking it might be good for shop type folk or other people who quite like to hear about my new patterns etc. but don’t necessarily want to follow along with the everyday blog dribble. So far 7 people are in ! (Actually it is only five cause I signed up twice myself so I don’t miss anything)

I hope you guys are all going off like a frog in a sock and I promise to get my frog and my sock back in action any day now.

Dead posh

OK, folks I have the biggest scratchiest pair of cranky undies on right now. You guys know the busy beyond busy thing I have going on with concert - well, the body has revolted. I have fluid behind one of my ear drums and its a bit like being drunk (without the alcohol). I am a bit off balance and a bit nauseous and a whole lot cranky.
If I sit perfectly still, its fine...which you would think is manageable wouldn't you ? except I don't think I have sat perfectly still since about 1988...I'm not good at still.
So here is where we are folks...everything is half finished, half started , half arsed and half cocked.

But just so you know I love you ...I took the photo again minus the half eaten apple.

man, this could be a design blog.
