Hi Jodie, There is the Ballarat Trash and Trivia market at the showgrounds every sunday then there ia a farmers market at Lake Wendouree I think one sat a month and one at Pleasant St School which I havent been too yet! The Trash and Trivia had lots of great collectables and vintage and retro stuff this week.
Well Jodie, all these wonderful comments for such a fantastic job done by a wonderful lady! When will you find the time to read all these comments? Your dress is truly inspirational and needs to be on display in the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery so all these bloggers can come and see it in real life. Hip Hip Hooray to you!!
Just popped over from DaD, love the selvage fabric! I see in the tutorial for the bag you say you aren't sure what about the selvedge appeals to you. I can relate. I was obsessed with the registration marks on packaging as a kid and would always open packages to look at the print registrations. Is it any coincidence I married a screen printer / designer? I think not. You have inspired me to begin saving my fabric selvages to try one of your projects, they really are fabulous!
Hi Jodie. Another visitor from A Dress A Day. Delurking to say WOW. There really aren't enough superlatives, I think we have to invent some new ones. When I saw some of your other selvedge projects (and the measuring tape purse, very nice), I though, cute idea, I could do that. And then promptly forgot about it. If I'd known there was a selvedge dress in the making I'd have thought - great idea.
But the execution, it's SO gorgeous. It's a real, very pretty, perfectly fitted dress, not just a gimmick. You surely deserves some kind of award!!
Thanks for the whole thing. And the photos are fab too!
Love your obsession with selvedges! I recently started a collection of vintage clothing tags and I want to make a purse from them. You've really inspired me! I'm totally digging your blog! suzy
