Sock Monkeys

I haven't made sock monkeys for years.
My next school holiday kids class is sock monkeys so I thought I'd better get back on the horse and make a few samples for Millrose Quilting in Ballan.
I had forgotten how fast they are. All I needed was a quick fork pom-pom
And Bob's your uncle.
If you are hoping to come along to the kids class in the September holidays, give Millrose Quilting a ring and book your spot. We booked out last time. so even though I plan to make a few more, I have crossed this fellow off the to-do list and skipped joyfully back to a new kind of something idea that might just go where I want it to.
(This wee little beginning is keeping me awake at nights)

  1. Hey Jodie
I have never made a sock monkey, but would love to learn. I think you need to seriously think about an adult class somewhere for some fun crafting! :)

    1. I do Robyn, at Ballan we have a class where you can come and work on any of my patterns. Everyone does their own thing and I am there to help. Lots of fun!!! I'll let you know when we book another one.

  9. Spooky! I have just made a zebra from a kit which used two black and white stripy socks. I am afraid to report that my zebra is severely malformed with a head so large he can't sit up without toppling forward. I blame the 'photographs only' instructions and some of those not too clear. I need your class - will you come to France?
The elephant is gorgeous - will he have that little tuft of hair that baby elephants have?

  12. My daughter just said "that's the best sock monkey I've ever seen"...shame we can't just pop down for a class from Singapore. I'm sure I'm not alone asking about an online cours, or a kit.

I love the idea of a baby elephant with a little tuft of hair.
