I hope you don’t think I am flogging a dead horse

But I just can’t seem to finish with the robots:

and my newest little family of robots made for the Daylesford Craft Experience.

These guys are made with delicious 100% wool felt and are possible the easiest ever toy to make.

I can’t wait to see what people think of them in real life. I am quite unnaturally attached to some of my creations as you know.

An impossibility

I may have mentioned before, my love of the collective noun

See that little fellow in the bottom right, with a kind a bent nose and completely askew pink hat?

That’s me folks, a little bent out of shape and perfecting the dragged-through-a-hedge-backwards look.

I am the mother of a 21 year old…

and I have learnt nothing

I am here

and all over the place at the same time. I have spent the whole weekend ripping up old lino and carpet. (and I wished the lino layers had been hopeless just-glue-around-the-edges kinda guys but they were hard working glue that lino down to within an inch of its life kinda guys). Picture screwdrivers and paint scrapers and swearing and blisters and the odd throwing of implements. Imagine aching knees and worn elbows and fractious temperaments.

So right now I am feeling pretty ragged, that creeping around on the knees for hours is not fun. My camera which has floor photos (very dull) and dog photos (quite nice) and softie photos on it, is approximately 3 metres away in another room. It may as well be on Mars. I love you, you know that, all you bloggy folks but I am not getting up from this chair until I go to bed.

In the mean time I can tell you that the hedgie pattern is finally released.

and called Hedgehog Circus. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me name these guys. In the end I just had to randomly pick a winner.

I can tell you that I have missed blogging lately and just have not been able to get my act together enough to manage it but I am hoping to do better. I could also tell you I have a little newsletter sign up box up there in the right hand corner. I was thinking it might be good for shop type folk or other people who quite like to hear about my new patterns etc. but don’t necessarily want to follow along with the everyday blog dribble. So far 7 people are in ! (Actually it is only five cause I signed up twice myself so I don’t miss anything)

I hope you guys are all going off like a frog in a sock and I promise to get my frog and my sock back in action any day now.

A friend I haven’t met yet

Worth the wait.

These are some of the wools I have been playing with for a new project for the Daylesford Craft Experience this year. Have you booked in yet? Places are filling up super fast so I would get on the phone if I were you and secure your spot or you may very well miss out. You can get a table together or come on your own, it won’t matter. You will be sure to have fun ! Of course there is a real designer coming along as well. Natalie of Cinderberry stitches will be designing projects for the first day as well as running a master class on the second day.

Held in the beautiful Peppers retreat, it really is an indulgent day , hanging out with other crafty types. I will be designing some projects for Saturday and hanging out, along with Natalie and the gorgeous Kate of Fox’s Lane who is coming along to speak crochet. I’ll be waxing lyrical about running a micro business as well apparently. Even though it is “technically” work for me – A day of chatting and stitching is really nothing like work at all and I can’t wait !
