Today is the first of May and in 13 sleeps I will be heading to the Spring Quilt Market in Portland Oregon.

In 13 sleeps I will be going on my very first overseas adventure.

I can’t believe that this is actually happening

In case I don’t get a chance before I go, I just want to say thanks;

For hanging around and being awesome and saying nice stuff and having far more faith in me than I deserve.

(Of course if it all goes horribly wrong, I’ll be blaming each and every one of you)

radio silence

While my computer was off getting fixed/broken/repaired

I thought about easy dolls and tricky dolls

   I started two new Little Reds and made them blue dresses because I had run out of grey.

I made a whole pod of whales – so easy I am up to numbers 14 – 16 !

I did some gocco printing to make a sample for a kids class I’ll be teaching at Millrose  Cottage next holidays.

I emptied my scrap basket and sent the scraps to a blogfriend.

I did some stitching

and I finished off some chubby birds

I also went back to work (I have one more week to go before LSL), spent inordinate amounts of time talking to the office of green squiggles and made way too many starts on new things.

I worked on a dolly for the Red Nose days Dolls, I almost finished my project for Urban Stitches and I started embroidering some new underpants.

If you were to look up manic in the dictionary right about now……there would be a photo of me tossing and turning in bed at 2am trying to turn my brain off and get some sleep.

Do your projects keep you awake at night ?

The real issue here is those pants. PULL THEM UP- YOU OWN BELTS DUDE!...Who started this crap anyway ? More importantly when will it end ?

I seriously do not want to be in the nursing home looking out of one good but watery eye and seeing some old codger with 6 inches of Y-front poking up out of his flannel P.J's. If it is you there next to me...you know where its going don't you ? I'm going to turn to you, my octogenarian blog-buddy and with a small smile, I'm going to whisper..."let's dack that sucker"

Blog housework....blogwork?

I went back to the doctor today who tut tutted a bit and suggested another 2 weeks on crutches......well actually she kind of ordered another 2 weeks, rather than suggested but you know, maybe she was just being bossy- surely its open to interpretation.

I have had a few ideas kicking around in my brain for some dolly friends but have been struggling to find the right fabric - so today I took the plunge and decided to dye my own. I was going for a soft pink and a taupe-ish colour .....




Not quite what I finished with, but I think they are still do-able. Next time it will be less dye or more fabric!

Together these remind me of Neapolitan ice cream.

Here comes the house (blog) work bit, Lots of people have emailed about the previous post and I am sorry but the dollies are not ready yet - you saw them in their one and only outfits, they need cardis and coats and another frock at least, not to mention hats and bags and scarves and so on. Thanks for all the sweet comments. I was going to mention all that palaver in the post but then again,................

I am at a bit of a loss about the whole Etsy / blog thing.

I know that the blog is a great way to let people see the dollies (and I do love to create their little stories) but I don't want people to think - Oh there's Jodie trying to flog stuff again..... at the same time I get emails asking if I sell stuff , and I reply and explain and give them the link....

I did have my Etsy shop on the sidebar with little dolly pics, but when they sold and the shop is empty - it doesn't show up. I am happy enough to just have a little link over there, its the whole showing stuff off or letting people know stuff is available via the blog that I am unsure about....................

But then again,

Blah blah blah brain fudge.

Yikes, Lucky I don't have important stuff to think about isn't it, like the state of the planet or anything

I know lots of people have Etsy shops or other shops and blogs as well, so whats the balance guys - share some thoughts please?????
