On this fine Thursday I am going to share with you the quilt that Jemima Flendt made using rockpool fabric.
This is Jemima's hugely popular Hop Skip Jump pattern that she remade in Rockpool. It is so striking and fresh !! I love that feature band across the bottom , the perfect way to show off a print !
Jemima is another Creative Abundance designer and a bit of a super-woman. (that's code for bloody hard-working). When she isn't designing for her Tied with a Ribbon brand she is designing with her mate Claire Turpin for their shared pattern designs, Sew along. Just to be sure she doesn't get bored anytime, she has just released her first book and filmed her foundation paper-piecing class for Creative University.
I was lucky enough to hang out with Jemima at quilt market in St. Louis and to say we had a ball would be an understatement. There was dancing, drinking, singing a little bit more drinking and some spectacular hula-hooping ! All of these activities occurred in a professional manner and there was even a bit of sight-seeing where Jemima introduced myself and Mr Ric Rac to funnel cake.
Jemima is also a consummate shopper and dessert eater - she is obsessed with desserts! (hence the funnel cake).
if you ever have to hang out with someone at a quilty thing in another country-take Jemima with you...You won't regret it!

Today's prize will be a copy of Jemima's pattern, some rockpool fabric and who knows what else ? Something fun !!! It's time to mix shit up a bit friends...
I've only ever seen funnel cakes on tv, they look interesting. Gorgeous quilt ladies!

ReplyDeleteOh my comment disappeared! Please do the appropriate thing if I have posted twice! I am really loving these fabulous quilts this week, each one is a delight and this is no exception, your fabric looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteHaha so you didn't say if you liked funnel cakes? They are so light and airy with powdered sugar that melts in your mouth - yum. The fabric is so fresh and that pattern is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI bought Jemima's book on your recommendation and having your Rockpool fabric to make my first project using her pattern would be the icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteHmmm, I think I may be able to manage that Hop, Skip, Jump pattern. Very clever if Jemima to have that lovley showcase strip at the bottom. I am also very keen on dessert and sharks, just not in the same bowl.
ReplyDeleteHad to google funnel cakes, so I've learnt something today. You are so educational!
ReplyDeleteOh I love the idea of putting a lovely swathe of fabric as an accent on a quilt. I shall remember that. Oh I spotted a sea horse!!
ReplyDeleteOoh, yes please! I know a little gems who would love some pants with sharks on! :-)
ReplyDeleteI meant a little fella, didn't spell-check!
DeleteAnybody that can 'make paper piecing easy' deserves a medal in my opinion - or another drink.
ReplyDeleteI've made a pin whale and now I need to make some more so some of your teensy tiny print Rockpool is needed.
it looks good in everything really.
ReplyDeleteI don't want to win a hula-hoop though, if that's ok.
I love that pattern, I seem to have problem as every quilt I make seems to be HST QST or pinwheels! Love those sharks, very under appreciated creatures.
ReplyDeleteSweet quilt, in cute fabric. I am in awe of your ability to find and make friends with the right people....anyone who is dessert obsessed and shares their special skill with you, is a keeper in my book.
ReplyDeleteThe new fabric range is amazing. Love the colours and the designs.
