  2. Okay, I'm emailing you my address now, do you think you could stop by tomorrow and clean my house?
I love that you cooked your chopping board, I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that sort of thing.
    :-)

  3. What is it about a new year that makes us do that? How long will your space stay like that (I'm giving mine till the end of the week LOL!)

  4. Wow! Great work... I do love a good tidy up. It's such a nice way to start a new year!

  5. Ah... I'm about to tackle a workroom that looks a lot like your "before" picture... but I'm procrastinating by reading blogs!

  6. Your reign as domestic queen remains unchallenged!

  7. Yep. You get to wear the Holier Than Thou hat for the remainder of the weekend, (or 'til next you go hunting about for something at the bottom of the stash pile).

  8. I can't even imagine the smell of that dish you've invented. At least you now have a pristine sewing room to escape to. Well done!

  9. mmmm, hope the family didn't mistakenly try to eat it!
hope your room stays that clean for a little while, ours never do.

  10. It's exactly what I need to accomplish, the second this not the first HA! It looks great....but can you find everything now that it is neat and tidy?

  11. No need to say any more. I spent the day doing the same thing, cleaning not cooking chopping boards lol. I don't cook much of anything at all.

  12. I hear its good exercise? .. and no more baking too?

  13. A tidy room is the perfect comeback for a melted board! See you can do things right!!

And yes, mine looks just like your before photo. Oh dear...

  14. No wonder you didn't smell the burning plastic. I love your floral shopping trolley thingo by the way. Prettiest one I evah saw.

  16. See, there was an excuse for cooking your chopping board! I plan to spend quality time with my sewing mess today...perhaps I shouldn't cook afterwards!

  17. Well done! My entire tiny house looks just like your "before." If you come help with the "after," I will be happy to build you a custom, one-of-a-kind, hardwood chopping board!

  18. Hey! I like your patchwork curtains. As many have mentioned, the problem with cleaning is that you can never find anything. It should be the reverse, but somehow it doesn't work that way.

I still need to sort out your parcel.. I havent' forgotten I am just that useless.. and one of my new year's resoloutions is to not be quite so useless... Happy New Year

  21. My friend's husband cooked a pan of lasagna with the plastic lid still in place!
I couldn't find my small plastic cutting board but knew I'd found it when after placing my pan on the burner, it burst into flames! The cutting board (a very thin disc of plastic) had been stuck to the bottom of the pan!

  22. Ah, that explains it. That amount of tidying is enough to throw anyone off their normal level of cullinary brilliance!!

  23. Nope! That won't wash with me I'm afraid! Playing at tidying your sewing room doesn't really count as tidying, sorry! Real tidying involves clearing up other people's grot not pretty crafty stuff!

  25. Wow ~ what a difference a day makes. I'm hoping to tackle my room this coming week (Looks like a cotton bomb exploded). It'll definitely take much more than a day.
    Happy New Year!

  26. Mid quilt as I am, up to my eyeballs in scraps and piles and threads, this would appear an unattainable goal. What a great job you've done. And I didn't cook the chopping board but I did a lovely line in baked glad wrap just a few days ago. Lovely aroma I can tell you.

    Ha! word verification? resti

  28. Very inspirational (the cleaning, not the cooking!)

  29. I spat on my screen. Thanks for being a nut, a robot maker, a chopping board cooker and a wow-factor craft room tidy-er.

  30. Well you may not have a chopping board anymore but you do have a very clean and tidy craft room.

  31. Hi Jodie,
Laughing, you are wonderful. I think the only reason I didn't cook a cutting board is I'm not used to having the oven yet :)
    Hugs,

  32. Firstly I hope the family appreciate that you cooked for them and did they enjoy the chopping board? Secondly do you hire yourself out, because my room is a tip. AGAIN!

    ReplyDelete
  33. You won't distract me with that clean work room. YOU cooked a chopping board - hard to beat that!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  34. I'm super impressed by your cleaning efforts, but please don't do it too often, I've heard that too much housework interrupts the natural flow of craftiness!

    ReplyDelete
  35. It looks awesome Jodie - that's a LOT of work!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. woohoo you go girl! I was too ashamed to show photos of my craft room as you could hardly see the floor and things were stacked everywhere as I got ready for market. two ladies bravely stuck their heads in and agreed it was messy

nothing like a fresh start to the new year!

    looks lovely!

  38. My craft room looks remarkably similar to the first pic of yours, lol. I have been looking at it for three days now and made half hearted attempts at clearing up, what a mammoth task. BUT, you showed me it can be done so I am going to have a proper go at it today! Thanks.

  39. Oh Jodie, you're brave to do before shots!! my studio has to get pretty terrible for it's quarterly clean out. i turn into crazy cleaner & am very ruthless, but feel good by donating all my unwanted goods to local community craft centres. i'm such a saint!! i hate clutter & get so angry with myself when my huge studio is messy & promise myself i'll NEVER let it get untidy EVER again . . . until the next clean up. 'tis that time of year, my studio is gleaming again!! Love Posie

  40. I am still in major hysterics about your chopping board. Too funny Jodie! Nice craft room by the way - must do similar. Good penance I figure!

  41. Great defense! "I was so busy cleaning that I didn't notice that overwhelming toxic smell of burning synthetic stuff until I fainted from the fumes" Tee, hee. Can you use it as a paper weight or something now?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Yahoooooooooo! You did so well :) Now come to my house and do the same!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Er, you didn't tidy away the cat too did you?!

...Or was he in the kitchen eyeing up the cooked chopping board?!!

    ReplyDelete
  44. It isposstivly gleaming - opps about the choppng board - if it makes you feel any better I char grilled a skien of hand dyed yan in the microwave last year - DH went and bought a new one, he was NOT impressed:)

  45. Give yourself a pat on the back! (and I cooked a cookbook once. I guess you shouldn't set them down on a burner unless you're really sure which burner you turned on. . .)

    ReplyDelete
  46. You need to put that on a T-shirt- "OK- I MAY have cooked the chopping board" accompanied by a picture of a big blue blob. That's just brilliant.

  47. Cleaning your work space because of chopping board guilt? Hmm maybe I should cook up a chopping board sometime.
I loved the hilarity of the chopping board story - you do make me laugh!

  48. sometimes we have to hit rock bottom before cleaning!! creating is just too much fun to stop in the middle of and do such busy work!

  49. Wow that looks so clean and tidy...a joy to work in!!! I wouldn't dare post a pic of my disreputable area!! Toes would curl up and noses would twitch, so I dare not!! However you have inspired me...so maybe this week!
