loose ends

I have been busy, getting things ready for the Craft and Quilt fair in about 10 days time. At this point I am about as done as done can be, and nothing else will get added to the to-do list.
Darla & Bean will make their debut at the show and are quietly nervous about the whole event.
The show is the starting point of craziness for me with a visit to Tassie to teach at Frangipani fabrics followed by two days teaching at Quilters Harvest in Warracknabeal (all before school goes back). It will be a crazy two weeks !

In contrast my sewing room is an oasis of calm - it had to be cleaned  in readiness for a newspaper interview (and subsequent painful photo shoot). Connor was a little incredulous at the idea that the paper wanted to interview me and suggested the headline : "Middle aged woman does craft"

and indeed the middle aged woman does do craft.

  13. Seeing I couldn't edit, I deleted : Well done to you, Jodie! Connor is a wee bit cheeky.
I'm sure you are going to have a great time with all your activities coming up over the holidays. But you will probably want another one before you get back into your day job.
A friend of mine bought Arthur Cabbage over the weekend. Her husband was quite taken with him. He will be dressed in blue to represent the mechanics who built the cars of the car club we both belong to. :) As someone who is not a regular machinist, I look forward to her comments on Arthur's footwear. :)

  14. Ooh, looking forward to that article, Jodie! The state of your sewing room is amazing, even if all the crap is temporarily in a cupboard - my sewing room cupboard is full of crap and the room is still a mess. As for Connor - I'd be sticking a pin in him. You are a young thing still.

  15. I'm sure Darla and Bean have no reason to be quietly nervous - I think they should be quietly confident instead.
Despite the fact that there appears to be a mole's head impaled on a spike on top of it - I recognise the pincushion as the same one I have - must be a favourite amongst the middle aged crafting community!
