Dear Son,

Have a nice day at work love,  Make sure you dress nicely - Put on your blue suit.
Try not to get shot as you walk with your teeny tiny shield across the arena into the firing line of archers.

Make sure you wear your helmet, even when you don't wear your armour.

Play nicely with your friends

but kill them if you have to

Look after your equipment

and make sure to practice practice, practice, practice so that you too, will soon get to gallop full speed at another man on a giant horse. Yes, he will be trying  to kill you while carrying a giant sharpened toothpick.

A boys dream job
(and a mothers worst nightmare)

  2. At least he doesn't spend hours alone with body parts (even if they are teeny tiny felt ones!) Happy New Year to you all; I hope it's a year full of fun, not hospital visits.

  8. That will look good on his CV! Oh my...I work in HR and as a mother and shuffler of workers compo papers I am so glad I didnt have the job of employing anyone at that Castle or dealing with WorkCover! Its bad enough taking toddlers to A&E with an injury and they double check your story to make sure your not abusing your child- how the hell do you explain the jousting stick injury...hmmm I was on the set of "The Castle" remake!! PS does it help "pull chicks" if you wear your armour!!!

  12. Hey Jodie. I have three sons. And all have grown big (cos I sincerely doubt they have grown up!). When they were smaller they were always sparring with each other. We had rules for this. I recall that Rule One was "No kicking with shoes on". It is a good rule and has stood me in good stead.
We've had more than our fair share of casualty visits. Some more serious than others.
I do hope that your boy conducts himself within the code of chivilry, which I believe has underpinning it all : be nice to yer mum.
    Cheers
