Heavens to Betsy !

As sometimes happens in blogland - an innocent comment can travel a long way. Some time ago I left a comment over on The Long Thread , admiring some beautiful wool.
A few days later I got an email from Erica saying she would like to send me some of the beautiful Heaven to Betsy Wool - I demurred only slightly before saying "YES PLEASE". Time passed and no squishy package arrived in my letterbox...however a HUGE box thumped on the back verandah reading....

Oh man ! Opening that box required some serious clenching of the lady-muscles. It was packed to the brim with delicious wool. I couldn't quite believe it and may have mentioned the word craftgasm once or twice.

but you can see why can't you, this wool is just beautiful. It is so soft and just perfectly woolly. Go and check out the far better photos at Heaven To Betsy...My favourite is probably Ferngully, but I love rustic Rooster as well and Hot Potato is destined to become a scarf ! These wools have been screaming SOFTIES at me for more than a week.

But really ! I can hardly keep all this for myself so I held a retrospective giveaway and Maree, Kirsty and Maxabella will all be getting a squishy parcel soon.

and everyone else ? You guys get a little down loadable pattern and tutorial to make some little birds of your own, its up there on the sidebar.

  37. This might get lost amongst the posts about the wool. but it is in response to the label.

when you are composing a post, click the html tab. It will show you your post in html - but you don't need to know html to see where the extraneous spaces are and delete them!
then click back on the compose label and you will be surprised!

This works for putting photos where you want them, too. So, if you have 3 photos and you want to swap them round, you can go to the html tab and do it. I find it easier to highlight the whole gubbins for that photo (there are usually enough spaces round them to work out which one is which - and if you look through the gobbledy gook you can usually see the title of what you called the photo). so, I highlight it. Do control-c for copy and then control-x which removes it, then put the cursor to the new position and do control-v to paste it back!
    Voila!

    Hope this helps!

  43. That last pic of the birds seriously kills me with cuteness. And kind of makes me feel like they are going to eat me. But seriously, that couldn't be so bad.... just hanging out in a small room made of wool and fluff? Might be kind of nice!

    ReplyDelete
  44. I am beyond excitement at the thought of my own squishy. Such a kind and wonderful gesture, Jodie. Very happy me!!! x

  45. Coo! Boidies! ...craftgasm?! I say, steady on old bean!

Just don't let those boidies see that film with Tippi Hedren in... the one with the killa boidies... cos there are rather a lot of 'em. Tho' you could quell 'em by saying in a mum voice, 'You're not going out without a scarf on, young pingwin!'

    ...well it would scare me!

    ReplyDelete
  46. This wool is so wonderful!!! and you've done very lovely softies with it! :)

  47. My oh my!! Those birds are ADORABLE!!! I may need one of those. Or two, wait things look better in odd numbers. 3? 5? 7? I guess we will have to see how many my flock consists of...

  54. Oh my lord! I have more than a little bit of a wool fetish and now I think you've started some VERY BIG TROUBLE by introducing me to Heavens To Betsy ....
You might find that I'm hiding away for a while, as the money I originally stashed for little things like paying for house renovations gets diverted into the warm and fuzzy depths of that wool cache!
Thanks Jodie, for being an enabler!
(oooh, and of course, I would love to be able to make softies as adorable as these little penguin dudes)

  55. I just wanted to pop back in and let you know that "Penky" the penguin is the Badoo's absolute favourite little fella. She takes him to daycare with her and he's her number one best friend. Thank you! x
