The worst photos you will see on this blog

Guys I am sorry about the photos - but this is me trying some vague quilt layouts on the kitchen table and standing on a chair to get the photos. I could have cropped out all the "life' in the background but then it was too close to look quiltish if that makes sense.
I've used scrap booking paper for the circles and of course the greens will be different depending on the fabrics I use......anyway would you like to tell me which layout you like ? I think I've already decided .....................
Number one.
Number 2. (essentially the same with no hole in the middle)

No. 3

No. 4

For a better idea of the actual colours have a look at the previous post
and thanks for all the help.

I too love playing with circles.

I have done the same thing with circles of coloured kindergarten squares - but they were oranges and reds, and bigger - destined to be a tablecloth.

I should look that project out again....

  2. I like number two. Number one would be my second choice.

  3. I like numero uno, but maybe you might try extending some of the outer circles into more of a sunburst pattern? Just an idea. Can't wait to see what you decide!

    ReplyDelete
  4. 1 and 4. Are we helping you to decide yet?

    ReplyDelete
  5. I was going with number one. It wouls appear that lots of people with equally good taste frequent your blog...

  6. Preference 1: 1; preference 2: 2. Great idea.

  7. Me likes the grey, oh la la, has to be numero uno for me, i think it's the most eye catching for when your quilt is folded, laid out flat or has sides hanging down off the bed. Can't help think of all the different ways a quilt is viewed. Love it, love Posie

  8. Number 1 is my favourite, too.... but I quite like number 3.

    ReplyDelete
  9. No 1 for me too. Scrapbooking paper? Never thought I would see the day

  10. Number one. I see I am not alone. I also LOVE the grey and green. I think grey was the right way to go!

  11. I think 3 or 4 - I don't want to rain on your creative parade, but the first two look a bit like something you're cultivating in a petrie dish.

    So helpful I know.

  12. number 3 because number 1 looks too much like the sketch i have in my book for a new duvet cover, yep, using different shades of green circles.... I haven't seen my sketch book recently, I hope some sneaky librarian hasn't got hold of it...

  13. I know you could take worse pics...........there fine.........just saying hi cause I know you will do what you want.......looks fun playing though.......

  14. I like the first one best as well.

  15. Number 1 or 4, but I'm leaning towards 1.

  16. Hi Jodie. Your blog keeps me laughing. I like number 1 the best.

    ReplyDelete
  17. It's a Number 2 from Princess Pyjamas.

    ReplyDelete
  18. It's number 2 for me. Looks random but orderly at the same time!

    ReplyDelete
  19. I really like number one but number four is very yummy too, it works so well with the colours and looks like bubbles and waves in the sea. Happy quilting ;)

  20. No. 3 gets no love, apparently. I like #1 with the wreath-ish thingie going on, but #4 really is unique. So I vote for #3.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's another vote for number one from me, it just has that comfortable symmetry feel that I get so stressed about.

  22. Jod, it's number one for me!! LOVE the idea of circles... Looking forward to seeing it. D

  23. Another vote for #1!

Is this some kind of belated subliminal message, getting us all to vote for greens?

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love number one and I am so glad you are going with the grey it's lovely

    ReplyDelete
  25. I like number 3 best closely followed by number 1

    ReplyDelete
  26. No1. I likes the hole in the middle.

    Essence of craft blogging.

Move the pieces around, stand on a chair, take a picture, move the pieces around, stand on a chair, take a picture.... post it on the internet and await judgement. How to explain this to the non-blogging community - you just can't.

I *love* technology - cos its all about the people!

  27. Definitely number 2, I like that one a lot...

  29. the hole sucks.
    number two looks random,
    and i like random.
    xo

  30. and i dont know why i wasnt coming up blue.....thats better. and i commented first and read everyone elses later and what do you know. apparently ..i'm the only one who thinks the hole sucks jodie ! :)

  31. I'd definitely go for no.1

  32. Hi there
I like nos 1, 3 and 4. I think both 3 and 4 are a little bit different which makes them more interesting. The only thing with 4 is that the effect might be lost when it is quilted up.
Not saying much about 1 as it has already had a bit positive.
    Have fun

  33. Definitely number 1!! Love the star burst feel of it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 1 or 2 with 2 being my preference.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I like number 2 - don't like the hole in the middle of one! It's going to be gorgeous whatever you choose.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Number 1 or 3, but number 1 really stands out for me...has that "zing" about it...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Number two is my fave, but number one is a close second.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I like number two but it depends on what look you are going for. I also like number 4 for a more casual look but prefer number two for a quilt you can display and use for any age person.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well I love all things circles but number 1 caught my eye.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I love number one. If you won't do it then I will :)
Well, after the ten thousand other quilts that I planned ;)

    ReplyDelete
  41. My vote is one and four - can I vote for more than one????

I think this looks terrifickly yummy!

    ReplyDelete
  42. The first one. I like the third one too - it looks like something is about to happen, whereas 1 looks like something just did.

You should call the quilt "feecked" because that is my word verification and I think it's a cool word.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hello there. Brave of you to ask us for our opinions - all very varied. Of all the four variations, I prefer the character of 4 - with those gentle swirls. I also like the shapes on 3, but, for me the gaps between are too big.
Such a good idea to take photos and then decide. I am sure whatever you decide will look good. I only hope we haven't deterred you from choosing the one which works best for you.........

    ReplyDelete
  44. My goodness this looks as close as out election!!

    No 1 for me!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Hi..Number 1 closely followed by Number 4. I'm sure that whatever you choose will look wonderful. Happy quilting!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Number 1! The hole in the middle adds interest

    ReplyDelete
  47. I like numero uno! The center gives a resting place (point of reference?) for your eye while your mind figures out the starburst effect.

    And it looks pretty.

    ReplyDelete
  48. I know this is just another one to add to the pile but I'd say number 1 as well.

I do love the randomness of you lining up the circles time after time and taking all the pictures, then asking the internet for the answer! It's almost like calling out to the universe for guidance!! LOL

it should be known as the "Universe quilt" :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. I like #1 the best ...
    Yvette

    ReplyDelete
  50. I like #3 best. It's more. . . unexpected.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Finnish vote for number one. Btw love your blog.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Okay, my two cents..

I like number 1 the most, but it is very similar to your "Oh" mini quilt that you made. So to me the question is do you want to further explore the idea of the Oh quilt (which could be quite cool) or do you want to do something different (which I can quite understand).

If you want to avoid any whiff of repetition, I like number 4.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ok, if I were to rank it from best to worst (even though I don't think there's a -bad- design among them)
I like them in the following order:
    two, one, four, three

  55. Number 1 is the best! No matter which one you shoose, it'll be magnificent I'm sure - and the grey is perfect wit the green.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Number 1 gets my vote!!!
Haven't looked through the other responses but I wonder if you'll end up with a hung parliament!!
    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  57. I thought number 1 until I saw #4... I think number 4...it's cool..and interesting... :-)

    ReplyDelete
  58. 2, without a doubt - you should use the poll widget then we could all see the results...though you might end up with a hung quilt...

    ReplyDelete
  59. I vote for 1 or 4. Actually, I like the idea you're starting to develop in 4, so maybe on the next quilt...

    ReplyDelete
  60. Initially I thought #1, but then after a second look, decided I really liked #4 much better. I love the fluidity of it. It's quite calming.

    ReplyDelete
  61. For me, number FOUR has more action than the others. I guess it depends on what you're looking for, but I think that the arcs are most interesting. I suspect that you'll end up making a #5!

  62. Great idea to try different layouts,I like No 4.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I like number one and number four.

    Which is not terribly helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I'm late and I didn't read a single other comment. No 1 for sure. The 'negative' circle plays up the positive ones very effectively. And thanks for the tute, very cool.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Number one, hands down! Love it.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Number two, but see if you can do a deal with the Independents (you already have the greens..)

    ReplyDelete
  67. Awesome idea...I really like #2, it looks like the design just "happened" and not so planned out.

  68. Awesome idea...I really like #2, it looks like the design just "happened" and not so planned out.

    ReplyDelete
  69. #1! It's playful and cute without being too busy (#2), spaced out (#3) or cluttered (#4)

    ReplyDelete
  70. I love number 2 way more than the others but I see I'm out voted!
That'll teach me for being the last.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I like number 1.

  72. Being a first born... naturally number one has to be my pick. Not just cause it's first though. It really is the best! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  73. My favourite is number one, followed closely by number two... (...I'm hoping that these comments are never read out-of-context!)

    ReplyDelete
  74. I really liked no 2. I have read all the other blogs and number one seems to be the consensus. Hmmmm not sure now Jodes!!!! I still kind of like number 2.
    Circles are groovy :)
