The elephant in the room

So whilst we all ignore the elephant in the room (which is my distinct lack of any bloggable crafting) I'd also like to point out that I am not in fact ignoring you,

Bloglines seems to be hiccuping a bit at the minute and not updating properly...or updating days after the event ..Crazy ! So I promise I am not actually ignoring your blog or not commenting I am just completely out of the loop it seems.

and here is the project that Rachel loves !

This project started as another experiment in softies. This time I was playing with the feel or hold of a toy (I know that sounds bonkers) but some toys you automatically pick up , they kind of fit ! Does that make sense? These little fellows are just right for hands... They "feel" right...

There is a lot more happening with these guys, I promise, I just can't quite shake the EITTTS to get on with them.

But I can tell you , if the EITTTS hasn't nicked off by Friday when I head to Sewjourn, either my head will explode or I may inflict grievous bodily harm on a complete stranger.....

Hey I wonder of the EITTTS argument would stand up in a court of law?

"Sorry your honour, but I haven't sewn all week, everything went wrong and then I was walking up the street and he kind of smirked at me like he knew I would never craft again, that it was all over......he just knew I had quick unpicked for three solid hours....and I just don't know what came over me....."

  12. I recommend the Bart Simpson defence - I didn't do it, you can't prove it, there aren't any witnesses, it was Lisa's fault anyway... etc.

It's a long shot, Cap'n, but it just might work. If that fails say The Griffin dunnit, this will surprise nobody as I am a Public Disgrace and have No Shame. Really, all that fuss over one bishop and two penguins... who'da thought?

  14. Jodster.. I figure if you give birth to something ( a feral snot monster or a softie toy) you are allowed to strangle it...

  17. Dear Jodie,
    Totally adorable.
    Pattern needed ASAP.
Before Easter if possible so that I can make some over the holidays.
Don't worry about the EITTTS's, this too will pass.
    Best wishes

  20. I have one of those elephants in the room here, too. Your new softies are great - highly bloggable craft.

    Nothin' to see here, folks.

  21. Hope you are counting down the sleeps.....and that the mojo comes back (I'm quietly confident it will amongst all those talented women!!)

  22. They are so squeezable I just want to poke their belly buttons for some reason(in a gentle way)!! It all has to do with the school thing interfering with the crafting thing I am sure-it all just gets in a tangle!Or is the moon full??

  23. OMGoodness!!! I L.O.V.E your gorgeous new softies, they're just adorable!
I really, really, really need a pattern for the piggy wiggy. My daughter loves pigs, she has heaps of soft piggy toys, but none as cute as yours.
Hope the EITTTS passes soon, altho I'm not convinced you have it at all judging by those gorgeous critters!

  24. So cute! I especially love the little monkey. <3

  25. Very cute, and that little monkey put a smile on my face!

  26. Why that's a perfectly reasonable excuse! Locket xxx

  27. For someone with EITTTS, you aren't doing to badly! Those little fellas are so adorable. My EITTTS renders me totally useless, in a "even if I sit on the couch and watch tele, I can't pick the right programme" sort of way!

  28. They are really adorable, and love the way you want them to fit.
EITTTS struck bad over here yesterday.

  29. Feel is the absolute number 1 softie criteria in this house. "Flop" is very, very important to the smallest...she needs the softie to hug her back.

I'm sure you'll be right by the weekend. x

  30. They are gorgeous! I don't know about the "hand feel" but the "eye candy factor" has certainly be achieved. I think the monkey is my favourite - does he have a tail?

Good work and enjoy Sewjourn on the weekend (no stabbing stragers with your quick unpick!).

  31. Fabulous softies Jodie! I adore the monkey, I cant help it as he is so cute. I am sure your mojo will return soon. Everyone has to have a little break otherwise they would get burnt out wouldnt they.

  32. I love those guys. They are so cute!

As a side note, if major PMSing can be used as a defense (which I've heard in the UK it can, the EITTTS should be valid too.

  33. Love the little fellas Jod. And I completely know what you mean about having to hold them first to check their cuddle-ability. And by god you make me laugh. I totally think EITTTS is a good defense. It's up there with "my children won't stop whining at me" or "my printer won't do what it's told"! We might be in lock-up together. x

Ooh, how funny. My verification word is ANGERef.

  34. oh dear, oh dear - I hope it comes together for you very very soon.Like today!

  35. Thank youfor saying something about Bloglines - I thought all my blog friends were MIA!

Hope the EITTTS is well and truly gone by week's end.

  36. oh my gosh they are the cutest!!!!! you do cute so well!

    corrie;)

  37. I thought Sewjourn was the prescribed cure for EITTTS. Did I hear wrong? Surely not.

Totally agree with the 'feel' test for softies. They're not called 'softies' for nothing.

    Have a fab weekend.

  38. The kitty is very cute. V-e-r-y cute.

I have sacked Bloglines in favour of Google Reader, I think it's better.

  39. Oh, they are sooo, sooo cute. I feel like I need to give one a cuddle.

My hubby is developing a new blog reader at the moment - he'd love all of you to try it out!!!!

  40. Oh Jodie, I hope your EITTTS goes away real soon. We've all been there at some point(s) and it sure feels like we'll never get out and make anything more than square beanbags ever again. But look at what you've done since your last EITTTS attack - astounding, inspiring stuff! Hang in there!

Besides, how can a person who is under EITTTS influence make such perfect bellybuttoned tummies? How? How? There is hope yet!

  41. These are (again) so cute! I just love the things you do! You´re so crafty!

  42. I'm with the bellybutton fan club. Too cute.

  43. I've been noticing the bloglines issues and have been planning to move all my blog over to Google reader, you know, when I have some free time. Love the money face- especially his little ears! And I know what you mean about hold- it is like the doll/softie tells you how to hold it.

  44. They are so cute!

  45. Hi Jodie, I have nominated you for an award, The Sunshine Award for bloggers who inspire creativity. I hope it brightens your day.

  46. I love the look of your new softies and agree that much more attention should be paid to the fact that softies should be soft. I was just thinking the other day that both my girls love the look of handmade "softies" but, alas, they're never the ones that they cuddle in bed......

  47. Fantastic looking toys, I just want to pick one up! Blogger list not updating is annoying the bejeezers out of me, ggrrrrrr!
