Well, it is done (and I used the clothesline tip for the photos) .
I can't really explain how excited I have become by this project since Sunday. The more I think about it the more I think it is the perfect gift.
Nor can I truly explain how surprised I am at my sense of achievement for doing this. I am totally loving myself.
People think I am mad, they figure I sew all the time so whats the big deal....the big deal is that pretty soon this will be a complete quilt - you know , like the sort that real sewers sew, something tangible and lasting.
It is not a novelty, nor is cute but useless (usually my specialty) it is (almost) a real life actual quilt.
Holy cow Batman !!!! I feel like a grown-up.
Me first again!!!
ReplyDeleteLocket! you have cursed me, why didn;t me first comment work????!
ReplyDeleteTrashy and I are talking on the phone right this moment and were racing to get the comment in first - I won, I won, I won, won, won!!!!

ReplyDeleteit's really beautiful, jodie! I love it. and I am sure that your grandma will, too. I gave my grandmother a quilt for her last birthday and it's gotten quite a favorable response from not only her (it's a very well known fact that she isn't the most gracious gift recipient, so I gave a huge sigh of relief) but also from my aunts and other relatives.
ReplyDeleteFab quilt, granny's going to love it. And it will keep her warm. Just think, before long... other family members will want their own quilt... and Annie may have to come around and whip you into shape!!!

ReplyDelete(shame, blush) all these people saying lovely things about your quilt and Locket just made me race to do commenting. I didn't wanna, she made me. Anyway, she started it.
ReplyDeletePlus she took Missus Moog's comment. You should talk to her Miss, it was her fault. I was looking the other way when it all happened anyway.
