The lazy-arse designer is stuck once again on just the right name for this little creative card pattern.
Who are they? What are they celebrating? Have they joined the circus?
Of course I have a back-up name that I like but don’t love. Why is this so hard ? because I am Jodie, gold medallist in over-thinking. Anyway if you want to toss an idea into the ring ,please do. The best name will win a little hog of their very own and I'll post it to wherever you live .
(I’ll give you a clue…I’m not a great fan of alliteration)
So while you guys get to work, I’m going to go and sit on my aforementioned lazy-arse and have a cup of tea.
Too cute! I would say... Mr. Prickles, Mr Pricklesworth OR Gene because that just seems to match. :)
ReplyDeleteHi, what about .... George & Mildred ... ????? Just a thought. have fun picking names. Cheers :)
ReplyDeleteMe again, just thought of ... Mr Fumble and Penelope ???? Cheers :)
ReplyDeletesimon and trudy. no idea why. but that's what instantly popped into my head :)
ReplyDeleteMiss Fifi and Ralph would like you to know that they are celebrating Punctuation Day on September 24 (and they are "hyphen" a fabulous time!).
ReplyDeleteClaude and Barry would make good names they are very solid and strong names.
ReplyDeleteI have new twins in the extended family. Charlotte, known as Lottie and Maurice, which is never to be shortened! Maybe those names suit these little ones who are nearly as cute as the twins.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute! Hedgehogs are part of the Erinaceidae family so I would choose Miss Orina and Master Aric. And yes definitely jugglers in the circus!
ReplyDeleteHog wild immediately popped into my head!
ReplyDeleteI really like Pop and therefore his friends need to be Snap. But then you would need to make a little ladybird for them to invite called Crackers.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I have been cooped up for a week with sick kids. Really like this design, I am looking forward to seeing it on a card.
(How is the rest going????)
They are too cute!!
ReplyDeleteHere are my names: Dorothy and Ernie or George and Olive.
They are celebrating National Pointy Hat Day. Because it's awesome to wear pointy hats just for fun.
What about Oscar and Lucinda - party animals for sure...
ReplyDeleteHortense and Remy, les jongleurs hérisson (the juggling hedgehogs)
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute :o) They look like "Pary Pets" and maybe Henry and William!
ReplyDeleteMy first thought was George and Mildred too..so Plan B.....Cleo and Tony (as in Antony and Cleopatra?)
ReplyDeleteWait, is Monty and Pearl out? OK, so my story is their names are Harold and Maggie. They live in a retirement village and one night at dinner the head nurse popped party hats on everyone. They didn't have a choice. They were celebrating old Daisy's 90th. And when it's a 90th birthday, then everyone wears hats. It's like the law.
ReplyDeleteMy other story is that their names are Elsie and Clive. They live in a very cute little house on the edge of a small town where Elsie sews and Clive works in the garden and they celebrate all lifes little milestone with cake and party hats. So today they are celebrating a regular old Thursday and the first of the parsnips from the garden (or the first good snow if they are southern hemisphere hedgehogs.) It's good to celebrate the small things, don't you think?
Edward and Olive.
ReplyDeleteVery Cute ! Hmmmmm how about Harry & Hilary Hogwash
ReplyDeleteFee X
They are so cute Jodie. The first names that popped into my head are 'Prickly and Spike'.
ReplyDeleteThere have been some great suggestions.
Have a great day
*hugs*
Tazzie
:-)
Love Pinksuedeshoe's back stories...too funny...not going to toss the names I came up with in the ring because they reek of alliteration and are refusing to open the door and let other names in...oooh someone has wedged the door open...Peppermint has entered the room (wearing a green hat)...closely followed by...Ollie in the red...oh my goodness they are seriously bad names...this is why I don't name things...good luck!...
ReplyDeleteMirabel and Cedric?
ReplyDeleteHeathcliff and Fergus
ReplyDeleteI just asked Mr 5.5 what he thought their names were and he said "Charlie and Nat". Apparently, they are about to go to a dinosaur themed birthday party for their cousin Sam (not in the photo) where there will be a dinosaur shaped cake and lollies and green jelly!
ReplyDeleteBentley and Florence if it's a girl and boy :)
ReplyDeleteTheodore and Bentley if it's a boy pair.
Agnes and Florence if it's two girls.
Enjoy your cuppa!
Esmerelda jumps out at me ,so there you go!
ReplyDeleteParty animals. Hope you are feeling better, Jod.
ReplyDeleteThey look mischievous. How about Helter and Skelter?
ReplyDeleteBella and Edward LOL
ReplyDeletePrickle balls?????
ReplyDeleteWhatever you decide, they are super!
soooo cute.... will be lovely for cards...
ReplyDelete"Spic and Spec"
Hugz
Well, Morris and Doris popped into my head as soon as I looked at them. (I am the queen of underthinking at the moment, a side effect of school holidays.) They are awfully cute.
ReplyDeleteOh Jodie,
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable as usual. I love some of the names and stories.
My best guess is Par-ty
or
Cup -pa
Debra
I'm sure that the one on the right is Henry. He and Cyril are off to a toddler's birthday party. They're particularly partial to chocolate chip cookies I believe. Not sure how Henry managed to get hold of my measuring cup though!
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking tougher names are in order
ReplyDeletePing and Pong aka we-got-balls, but anti-alliteration rules came into play so...
Spike and That's Mister to You
Damn! Tazzie and I think alike! So, I'm going to back her up for the idea and the prize.
ReplyDeleteCheers
Rob
They look french to me
ReplyDeleteRenaud et Camille perhaps?
Love from Belgium!
I think they look like a Muffles and Alfi to me.
ReplyDeleteVery very cute!
Me: Eric and Zola
ReplyDeleteMiss PatchyRose: Hedgehog Party Surprise
Will he always have his little clown hat on? In which case, what about Coco? Sort of goes with his colour too.
ReplyDeleteI see you've been coughing up more felt balls.
x
ok
ReplyDeleteno alliteration
not too cute
but clever & fun
Meet the "Ball Hogs"
as they are a Juggling Act
"Papito & Banjo"
Little orphan triplets, who are sad because they haven't just lost their parents but their sibling too. Please add smiles when they find that it's all a mistake and the rest of the family were just slow waking up from their hibernation.
ReplyDeleteTheir names are Frank and Glad.
So many good ideas already, it might have been easier to come up with your own instead of having to choose from the list! Good luck!
Reginald & Olive (Reg & Ollie)
ReplyDeleteThese were my grandparents names - neither was very loving, so I think two prickly hedgehogs named after them is quite apt! (Sign of how they were raised).
I would just go with "Party Animals" but I could just be "Hedging" my bets?
ReplyDeleteI would just go with "Party Animals" but I could just be "Hedging" my bets?
ReplyDeleteCyril and Cuthbert (those names need a revival), the Clowning Companions ran away with the circus after a birthday treat - still wearing their party hats but lost their party blowers. Now they have more fun with flowers squirting water and custard pies!
ReplyDeleteHa, Morris and Doris! LOL! Otherwise I like Reg and Olive. My capacity to be creative is lacking today, wish I had my DS 6yr old to ask what their story could be. Perhaps they are celebrating multi coloured felt balls...I was in Ikea today and was truly annoyed that I didn't have kids in tow,(yes I need my head read) because I fancied a play in the ball pit, looked like fun!
ReplyDeleteSpike (as in Milligan) or perhaps Spike and Milligan ?
ReplyDeleteThe arse may be lazy but the head and hands have obviously been very busy.
To run on from Jenny above, how about Spike and Milly in honour of Spike Milligan who was so silly he'd surely wear a party hat just for the fun of it. Love some of the stories in the comments.
ReplyDeleteTumble and cinnamon!
ReplyDeletePoke and Dot :0)
ReplyDeleteJan and Pete. Just because.
ReplyDeleteBarnum and Bailey.
ReplyDeleteHey, if they're joining the circus they might as well go for one of the big name ones, right?
Do they have bodies? Thelma and Louise, like the movie? Or are they males? Then Tom and Jerry... DId you make those little needled balls from all the felt in your yard? Great marbles!!
ReplyDeleteHorchata (or Orxata) and MacArthur, or Cha Cha and Mac for short
ReplyDeleteCordelia and Bingo
Zella and Gerome
Jim and Judy
Oliver and Olivia just because I like the names.
ReplyDeletePercy Sledgehog. That's all I got...
ReplyDeleteDanish and Doughnut. Sorry. I know two little girls that actually have a hedgehog named Doughnut. Danish seems appropriate for the other.
ReplyDeleteOh, they are too cute! I think Simon for the one on the left, he has a bit of a serious look to him. And for the hedgie on the right, he looks a bit tougher, so I'm going to say Rocky.
ReplyDeleteJindi - Peppermint(penguin) would indeed wear such a suitable green hat, but never, not never ever with a pink pompom.
ReplyDeleteParty animals, Rock on Thursday.
Danny and Danielle.
ReplyDeleteDon't know why - they just came to me.
Niles and Daphne. :)
ReplyDeleteCarter and Sophie
ReplyDeleteRufus and Ollie. They are super cute! Hope you feel better soon. Stopping isn't in my nature... just think what you can do while resting. Embroidery?
ReplyDeleteNicholas (after my brother who has always had a big thing for hedgehogs) and Roberta. x
ReplyDeleteTarquin and Flo
ReplyDeleteWell I would have suggested Spike but it's been suggested a few times already.....so how about
ReplyDeleteInk and Quill (named after the hedgehog spikes) or
Hodge and Podge or
Prickly and Pear
.......they really are very cute!
I guess that Harry's out then! I was always rather fond of "Spiney Norman" from Monty Python days.
ReplyDeleteOlivia and Violet. Olivia loves red, especially polka dots and Vi is an easy-going love who lets Vi have her pick even though she secretly loves red with polka dots too.
ReplyDeleteHow about Ashton (after the Ashton Family Circus)?
ReplyDeleteWhat ever you name them, they are cute!
How about Turnip? Or maybe Parsnip. I don't know why, but they seem to make me think of root vegetables :)
ReplyDeleteThey sure look like twin brothers Harry & Harv, out looking for a good time!
ReplyDeleteand they are simply ADORABLE!
Very cute! Prickles and Spike would be the names I would choose (although it may have already been suggested before). Good luck choosing your names!
ReplyDeleteHodge and Chog, I know your not keen on alliteration so the buddy is called Chog.
ReplyDeleteJoined at the hip, these two can often be found snuffling around the edges of lawns at wedding receptions. They have found that the party hats work a treat, as the confetti really does get in their prickles. They live for splashes of champagne on long grass and dream of one day meeting that little couple on the top of the cake.
gorgeous!! no help for the name sorry.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe Hedgie and Hog
ReplyDeletePrickle & Pinn! Oh, that's an alliteration, sorry!
ReplyDeleteO.M.G. No help with a name but I NEEEEEEEEEEED these little guys. Love love love.
ReplyDeleteErrol is a fetching name for the gent who has a bit of a wild streak (and likes a bit of polka dot in his life) and maybe his mate Norman who is a little bit more restrained (even though he can perform party tricks like balancing on upside down pink cups). Good luck deciding and hope you are feeling much better. We had another delightful day with you in Ballan - thanks muchly.
ReplyDeleteI think Alfonse and Reginald, best friends who don't mind a bit of party hopping.
DeleteI would call them Penelope and Pyg (short for Pygmalion). They have great aspirations of becoming world famous performers, but for now, they content themselves with being a traveling act, roaming from festival to festival, with the occasional birthday party, of course, perfecting their skills.
ReplyDeleteBernie
ReplyDeleteThey are very cute, what about Thistle and Holly? They are prickly things as well, xJane
ReplyDeleteThey look like they're celebrating - I hope that means that a little rest means the cough has taken leave permanently.
ReplyDeleteHarold and Georgie?
Enjoy choosing their identity.
Hedgina and Erizo. From regina meaning queen and erizo meaning hedgehog. Both like good times. :)
ReplyDeleteI'll go with Gigi and Lena, mainly because they are the names of my three year old twin girls who LOVE hedgehogs... or 'hedgie-hogs' as they call them.
ReplyDeleteBring on the pattern, I say. I'll buy it whatever they are to be named.
ReplyDeleteThey look like party hogs to me, too cute.
ReplyDeleteLacey and Arsenio - in honour of their creator.... seriously cute hedgies - you amaze me
ReplyDeleteDot and Ted (Dorothy and Edward to those less well acquainted). They were sweethearts who married in their early 20s and set up home in a little English Village on the outskirts of the city. Dot is an expert homemaker, even after their children grew up and left home,Ted has always been dedicated and career driven. Ted has just recently retired though and has been through all sorts of fads in an attempt to fill his time, and Dot, being the loving supportive wife that she is, has followed him through all of his pursuits. They've tried ballroom dancing, but Ted kept treading on Dot's toes, then they tried art classes, but the life drawing was a bit much for Ted's old fashioned sensibilities, next they tried joining the gardening club, but Ted couldn't tell the difference between the plants and the weeds, after that, Ted signed them up for a Rally club, but soon discovered that their 1971 Morris Minor was going to struggle to compete with some of these newer motors, so now they've joined a circus skills class, and Ted has excelled at the juggling. Dot has her eye on the tightrope though...
ReplyDeleteHow About Will and Kate.?
