snowballed

The thought that I might move my sewing room from the study (where it is now) to Jemma's old room seemed like a plan.

and then I entered into the abyss

Does that eye-chart artwork say "do not panic" ... I can't read the rest but I think that says it all!

Ha! I started that today, moving into the boys old room with my sewing stuff. I am hopeful.

A kindred spirit...who are those elves that come in and mess up our sewing room????

That's what mine looks like too! It was clean before Christmas. Well. Clean-ish. Y'know, like it has to be to get creative... or that's what I keep telling myself...

I hear you. Last night I had to clear out the spare room so I could sleep in it, and everything appeared back in the sewing room. Eek (no exclamation mark)

My motto with my massive declutter has been "be ruthless". I can only pass my motto on to you.

Stay strong xxx

Where does all the crap come from?? I have been decluttering my sewing room for days and it's still horrible. Aargh! On the plus side, I have found some UFOs and fabrics that I still like and will do something with - if I can find my sewing machine... Good luck, Jod. Take a packed lunch (and a deep breath).

Looks like you've been very creative the last few months (or more)! Think of all the wonderful goodies you'll uncover and rediscover as you go - I found some real gems when I did my post-Christmas clean up :)

Oh ya wuss !! get tough & get in there !!! throwing other peoples stuff away is great therapy !!!!!
If you want I'll come over I'm great at chucking stuff out !!

oops just went back & REALLY looked at the pics ...your mess not Jemmas....well move what you want to her room & chuck the rest....yes see I am quite heartless when required..:)

well who the hell can clean & create at the same time, I ask you??
certainly not this fluffy duck. I always get an open mouth expression from people when they see my creative space & the inevitable "geez u sure must like to sew 'cause you've got SOOO much stuff".

It is so reassuring to know I'm not the only one who ends up like this! A sign of fruitful productivity I say!

I wish I had sewing room again. The dining table needs to be tidied for every meal and under all the beds just doesn't work for storage. Have fun!!

Haha I've just done the same - moved from guest bedroom to play room !

Just go for it! It's the only way!

I see nothing out of the ordinary here, that's what sewing/craft rooms usually look like, isn't it? Or at least, that's what my workroom looks like too, now that I've given up on ever keeping it in any sort of order.

It seems that workrooms naturally degenerate into chaos over time. :)

UFOs breed. Tis a known fact.

And I'm sure my bank account is subject to regular fraud, cos it couldn't have been me that bought more fabric, ribbon, yarn, buttons, thread, patterns, fabric, yarn, fabric, could it?

Did I mention the fabric?

Hello, HELLO, are you still in there Jodie? Would you like a lend of our G.P.S to find your way back out again? Seriously, I can't help but admire you for the fantastic things you create in there. My work-room looked similar until I had a cleaning fit a few days ago, now I can't find anything!

... thought I'd just walked into my room there.

My room looks much like yours and every now and then I get the guilts and really clean it up. Everything goes out the door and get's sorted as it comes back in. Some things never come back in....

I didn't realise your Dr Who fetish extended to your sewing room - you have your own Tardis!!

Haha, just LOVE it! That's the way my kitchen (our craftroom!) always looks like. Every time I've cleaned up, I tell myself "never again" such a mess! Now I know, I'm not alone out there in the craftyworld! Thank you for sharing, Jodie!!! ...and for your blog! You bring so much joy in our life and makes me laugh so hard manny times! XO from Germany, Nicole
(This little red chair in the corner is sooooo cute!)

What the heck, just start sewing in Jemmas room, leave the "study" as is and then you can have TWO rooms full of craft stuff! And if that fails, then put your big girls pants on, refold all the fabric, put it in colour coordinated piles and we will all be really really impressed that you "cleaned up"!
