The last five months or so at chez Ric-Rac have been a pain. Mr Ric-Rac got retrenched and well, it sucked big time.
Its kind of like, when you wear really bad undies...you know that constant irritation, the needing to keep adjusting and smiling and pretending your undies aren't riding up your bum crack.... when in truth you want to rip them off and throw them on the ground and stomp them into oblivion while screaming your head off ? yep, that feeling !
I have been busy working on some stuffs for the Daylesford Makers Market and possible Etsy shop update.
I've been dreaming of new softies and one of them makes me so excited! He is sure to be my favourite ever softie.
I, and my gorgeous helpers, have been ironing out the wrinkles in the Parsley and Beet elephant pattern and the Disco-Bot pattern.
I have been playing with Mr Gocco
and right now things feel like the oldest daggiest pair of comfy undies around.
I hope you guys are all "comfy undies" at your place too.
Sorry to hear about your underwear troubles - and glad you have found your comfy undie groove again! Looks like you have loads of exciting things planned for the rest of the year - can't wait to see what your new softie is!!
ReplyDeleteOh big YAY for the new job and for comfy undies. 2009 has been a very icky year for many people I know - here's to good times ahead for you and yours Jodie!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you have the comfy undies on and things are looking up.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that things are settling. My metaphorical undies are irritating me today. Yesterday they were fine, but today no good. Sometimes it's a day by day prospect.
ReplyDeleteLovely news! Can't wait to see your new softie ... and very glad to hear everything is on the up and up. I think I will have to wag my weekend parental responsibilities and drive up to the Daylesford Market.
ReplyDeleteSigned Hoppo Bumpo
(sitting in her big nanna pants with the control panel at the front and lift and separate bottom enhancing properties at the back)
PS. Word verification: "undeo" ... undies in another language?
I know all about the bad undies ... and I'm glad the Ric-Racs have got the wedgies firmly un-wedged from their behinds.
ReplyDeleteIt's almost a feeling of freedom isn't it?
Good to hear things are going along well and the undie situation is more relaxed. I can't wait to hear/see more of your new softie and I love the look of the doll with her bag. Looking forward to seeing all your lovely bits (you know what I mean...!) at the market xo
ReplyDeleteWell done on achieving comfy undie status again. Love the dolly - she is very cute.
ReplyDeletewe all love comfy undies. Hope the new job is good.
ReplyDeletecan't wait to see the new softie!

ReplyDeleteYey to new job! My man has a new job too, been at it for a few weeks now so comfy undies all round!
ReplyDeleteNew Softie? Best of them all? I'm excited, what can be better than Kinder Dolls, Lelliphants & Dancing Bots?? It's must be big!!
Hooray!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear things are looking up in the Chez Ric Rac. Love the undies analogy.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what your new softie is, surely you won't forsake your gorgeous heffalumps tho, Parsley and Beet are the bomb! The bots aren't too shabby either. I'd love to be able to conceive and design such gorgeous creations.
Kelly :-)
So glad your undies are comfy again. Would never have known from your amazing blog that your undies were giving you such a bad time. xx
ReplyDeleteWent thru the bad undies in the nineties so know how it feels, good that thinmgs are comfortable again, can't wait to see you at Daylesford.
ReplyDeleteBev
undies are just fine, glad to hear yours are too.
ReplyDeleteJodie I'm so glad Mr Ric-Rac has got a shiny new job and I wish you both all the best that it goes really well. mwah. Having bad undies sucks.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are back in your comfy undies. Hope you have thrown those old ones in the bin. Looking forward to seeing you next projects.
ReplyDeleteGlad things are looking up! I just bought some new underwear and find it much better fitting than all of my old smalls....
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear that your comfy undies are back on, lol! Nothing worse than being retrenched. I cant wait for the Parsley and Beet pattern to be released so I can purchase one. I wish I could make it to the Daylesford Makers Market but my daughter is in a parade at 11 so it might be a bit of a rush! I will have to wait for the next one I guess. Cant wait to see what your new softie looks like too.
ReplyDeleteHoray for Parsley and Beet! For comfy undies too. Around here we call that "comfy for your bumfy"
ReplyDeletePleased to hear things are on the up!
ReplyDeletePoor Mr Ric Rac - they obviously didn't value him enough. Good to hear that everything is going well and a new job has been started. Hope the knickers continue to be comfy ones from now on.
ReplyDeleteI think my undies are still uncomfortable but incredibly glad for the Ric Racs that theirs are so much more comfortable.
ReplyDeletex
Comfy undies are good. I'm glad you have finally got rid of the bad undies and Mr Ric Rac got some new ones! yah for that.
ReplyDeleteI've got tired, teeny bit stressed undies - but sort of comfy too. (and a new skirt to wear tomorrow, so that makes up - almost - for any sort of undies!).
I hope all goes well for your husband in his new job . Yes I have bad undies days and then sometimes I'm lucky enough to reach into the back of the drawer and find the comfy ones too ! I hope you have lots of them in the back of your drawer too !
ReplyDeletewhat a great analogy! well summed up and great news all is well now.
ReplyDeletewe're all comfy undies here but we have our moments!
I was thinking I really need to use my gocco again, 2 times in over 2 years is not a good track record!!!!!!
Corrie:)
So glad to here you've got the comfy undies on Jod...it sounds like they are treating you well.
ReplyDelete"you want to rip them off and throw them on the ground and stomp them into oblivion while screaming your head off"... ohhh, that was you!

The Importance of being...?!!!
I am so happy that Mr Ric-Rac has a new job. All the best, and on the new softies, all the best for them too. No comment on the undies though, lolzdu
ReplyDeleteYep, those "wedgie" moments are bad!!! Glad your undies are straightened out again. Congrats to you AND Mr. Ric Rac. I always look forward to seeing what pops out of your creative mind.
ReplyDeleteI just don't think we all quite appreciate the benefits of comfy undies, do we? Updated my drawer with some new comfy Bonds undies today.....can't wait 'til tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteSorry that you had your knickers in a knot. Hopefully thigs will pick up from now. I'm so glad I found your blog- it's such a lovely little treat.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Mr. Ric Rac!
ReplyDeleteYes, nothing like comfy cottony panties to put one in a good mood.
This has been the year of the malfunctioning knickers for stacks of people. So glad Mr R has a new job. I think I can spot a possible mallard through my crafty binoculars.
ReplyDeleteAt our place today? Tracksuit bottoms, slippers and holey knicks that are like an old friend.
Ah! I know that undie feeling from way back when I had to wear my mother's handknitted underwear as a child (keep the child nice and warm!) And if Mr. Ric Rac had such an itchy feeling he must have had a bad time. I wish him a good comfy job and work that makes him happy and content. Wish you both all the best. Greetings from Germany
ReplyDeleteSo glad you undies are feeling better, nothing worse than undies up your bum. Glad Mr Ric Rac is working again, nothing worse than having the man of the house under your feet. Can't wait to see what you are up to with a new softie.
ReplyDeleteHi Jodie - I think most of us have been where you've been - it is just so hard to find good underwear these days! I'm sure it will all work out in the end... so to speak... lol
ReplyDeleteJust loved your little series. Very sweet and imaginative...
Being Friday night, it's definitely comfy undies around here tonight. Just waiting up late enough to see if can catch a glimpse of the tooth fairy!
ReplyDeletehappy to hear your knickers aren't in a twist anymore. i'm working on mine....hopefully next week, the big comfy pair comes replaces the irritating ones.
ReplyDeletesmile!
Love love love the dolly with her darling coat and matching knitting bag. Ever so cute. Blogging makes a nice escape from bad undie days, as I well know. LOL, my word verification is "copie" perhaps because I am so good at copying other people's ideas, or perhaps because like you, I have learned to cope with bad undies!
ReplyDelete:o) That really made me smile - both the undies metaphor and that things are looking up chez Ric Rac. I love Kinder Girl and her coat and bag and everything. I really hope to make a girl and a boy for holiday presents this year. Thanks for the laugh.
ReplyDeleteLeah
Your mother must have told you about changing your undies regularly, next time don't leave them on for a year. (Honestly! I don't know what you were thinking, I mean what if you had been hit by a bus and taken to the hospital and tehre had been the really handsome doctor there and he had to cut you out of your clothes and when you lying there all battered and bleeding with half a bus attatched and all anyone in that room would see would be the old too-tight elastic undies all cutting and getting tight on you and .... )
ReplyDeleteso glad things are in a "good" place. it's no fun when your undies are in a bundle. good luck with the new softie!
ReplyDeleteI dream of the day I can write a similar post... we've been wearing those undies for more then a year at our house.
ReplyDeleteI am still laughing at Trashy's comment. Tell Mr Ric Rac my husband was retrenched a while back and in hind site it was the best thing that happened to him. Good luck with the market.
ReplyDeleteso pleased to hear your in comfy undies again.........wonderful news.........
ReplyDeleteThat was the best description ever of how life feels when things are crummy. I'm so glad you have comfy undies again. Congratulations to Mr. Ric-Rac on the new job!
ReplyDelete-Holly
A new softie that will be your favorite ever? Even more than Parsley and Beet? 'Cause those two are hard to Beet. (Boo Hiss Pardon the pun, but really, how much better could it get???)
ReplyDeleteHooray for comfy undies and new jobs. Good to hear, Jod.
ReplyDeleteYahoo... go the comfy undies Jodi. Great news for Mr Ric Rac.
ReplyDeleteHad a chuckle over Trash's comment - she cracks me up!
Hugs ~ Kerryanne
I love that you can compare you life to undies! Based on your analogy, I've been trying to work out if wearing none would mean life is super great or really really bad!!
ReplyDeleteGood to hear about the shiny new job. Hope it (and he) continues to shine.
Thank heavens for comfy undies - I'm so glad to hear you have found yours again!
ReplyDeleteLocket xxx
Good luck with your new job!
ReplyDeleteMicki
Glad to hear you've conquered the wedgie. Cannot wait for that elephant pattern.
ReplyDeleteLove your comparison with the underwear. Next time I am feeling in a funk, I am going to think about it in the same way. Glad to hear things are getting back to comfortable. Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
I am glad you have some comfortable undies now. Wedgies are no fun at all :(
ReplyDeleteHave just read tashalou's comment and still have a big smile on my face. Though I would add getting rid of the fuzzies too. You don't want that gorgeous doc see you with hairy legs either LOL.
ReplyDeleteGlad things are on the up and everything is much more comfy now.
Absolutely love your bots and their adventures.
Hugs,
Sharon
Shiny new job - great stuff. How can it be that in 2009 people still get away with taking good hard earned money for bad bad undies?
ReplyDeleteNothing worse than uncomfy undies!! Hooray for a new job and a new softy! Hope the markets are good for you :-)
ReplyDeleteSO pleased that Mr Ric Rac is working again ... man about the house with out job = not so nice house to be in.
ReplyDeleteSo many of us have ill fitting undies on and are living in a state of discomfort!!! You're right sometimes it is bloody hard to smile in uncumfy undies!!!
Glad all is now well at chez Ric Rac abode and I hope Mr Ric rac loves his shiny new job. Love your little girl and can't wait to see the spectacular best most favouritist softie ever-how exciting!
ReplyDeleteYep that sounds like you've had one hell of a wedgie. Unemployment is stressful and suckful, and bad for a man's ego! Enjoy being back in the grandma undies. Looking forward to all being revealed. (in softie dept, not undie dept!)
ReplyDeleteWe're going through a similar thing at the moment and you have managed to express the stressful feelings in your own inimitable style. I'm glad things have turned out well for you and I look forward to having my own underwear sorted out soon. Apart from anything else, they sort of get under your feet when they're home don't they?
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Here's to happy days.
ReplyDeletebtw... you can always go commando... ;)
I am so pleased to hear that your bad news has turned into good news and now that he's working again perhaps he can buy you a new pair of undies - not too comfy mind, it's never good to have anything too comfy :-)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear all has settled down with Mr RicRac's job - now you can invest in plenty of comfy drawers :)
ReplyDeleteThis week I'm having an over-tight thong of a week...due entirely to having both kid's bedrooms plastered in one go. Every time I look at all the chaos I can feel my knickers twisting!!
