A week that's pretty high on the shit-o-meter does have unexpected benefits.
The quilt I took on camp is hand quilted and I have one more side to go with the binding. Unless my friend is in labour right now - the chances are that this will finished before the baby even gets here (I think that is a first for me with baby presents - I am always late).
So when things do turn to shit - as they tend to do occasionally, I recommend some hand-sewing.
because we all know that keeping your hands busy means you can't actually kill anyone.
and that has to be a good thing...

as far as I'm concerned, you can definitely say "shit-o-meter" in the title. Hand quilting IS harder to mess up and easier to rip out if you do!
Fabulous quilt, clearly you are a genius... as I find once more! Yes, try not to kill... there are worse things than death... and more legal too!
Tho' possibly I ought not to tell you what they are just in case!
You could write a tale in which your 'enemies' are gruesomely slaughtered and possibly disembowelled... while you as the detective try to find out who the killer is... it could even make you money. So you get to legally kill and make money from it too!

as for the handsewing thing.. aside for a very very little bit of embroidery my handsewing looks like a trainwreck.. mind my machine sewing is only marginally better...perhaps I should stick to baking..

Perhaps you could stitch a shit-o-meter? Something in vinyl (easy to clean) and fairly 'solid'. Perhaps with a weight in the bottom?
I sometimes worry myself with the way my mind works. Pay no attention to me.

Well done for having the quilt nearly done before the baby arrives. I've got one here for my nephew from when he was born.... he's heading for two!!! Maybe I should finish it! I just need to sew one border on, get it quilted and then do the binding. You'd think I could have been a bit more organised!!! Sorry that your shit-o-meter went off the scales.....!
