Brattish behaviour - YUDU

So I survived camp (obviously) and the brattish behaviour of the title had nothing to do with it - In fact the kids were angels.

I am the one exhibiting brattish behaviour. I feel like stomping my feet, pouting and generally behaving badly. A tantrum is brewing.

You see I think I want one of these

This is the YUDU screenprinting machine by provo craft. I have watched the demo, seen the ads and trawled the Internet catching snippets of info from forums and blogs. I have searched and searched for any Australian suppliers. I have emailed provo craft and been told it will get to Australia, but no mention of who will be stocking it or where I can see it in action.

I found out for myself it will on display at a craft show in Brisbane (The other side of the country) in June.....

June????? (insert foot stomp here)

But I want it now!!!!! and yes I know that I could get one off Ebay (that $122 US postage is bit of a killer though) and I really want to see one in action..... (insert wild flailing of arms).

I want to talk in an annoying whiney voice but no-one is home and the cats don't care!

But I already have an idea or two or three that I want to try out and I just can't stop thinking about it and wasting time on the Internet finding out more about it and generally just being an impatient brat !

arrrgggghghhghghhghgg !

he he he..oops, I mean serious face....

Would it help your tantrum if I told you that your kinder girls were on display at the Doll exhibition? So, so cute!

As for getting "goods" in from overseas, I think that Australia may need a little nudge in its "she'll be right mate" ribs!!! I'm with you on that one... IT'S NOT FAIR!!!! (stomp)

Gasp! I can 100% see why you're chucking a tanty. I want one too! I say we start a protest...

Wowser. That is one mean screenprinting machine....
I can see why you want it. Maybe you should ask the manufacturers if you could be a rep for them here.... and then get one to 'demo'....

oh, it looks like a BIG gocco...

now i want one too!

Liesl (Hoppo Bumpo) said...

I wish I hadn't seen this! I have immediately abandoned my long-held ambition to obtain a Gocco.

Good luck in getting your mitts on one soon. It looks fabulous. You'll have to see if you can make friends with a sympathetic import/exporter.

I want one of these too. Like Liesl it has replaced my dreams of a Gocco. I agree with Gilly tell them you want to sell it for them but you need one first to try it out.

I think you should ask them to sponsor you, tell them you are famous and that you will do amazing publicity :) (can you tell I am at work...)

I've heard tantrums are good exercise...

If they will be in Brisbane they will pop up elsewhere eventually...

LOL

So do you reckon with all the interest you've raised right here on your blog, they might do us a bulk deal???

I'm not looking - la la la. Too much temptation.

In my experience, tantrums can actually work... It all depends upon the resolve of the person/s you are whining to. I think you may be onto something! ;)

I saw that at Joannes last week! Expensive little machine.. I' think I'll have a go at making one for myself.

Looks like one nice little machine, but somehow I don't think a tantrum will get you one....but do like the others ideas of asking if you could demo one.....nothing to lose there!
cheers Julz
ps....can't wait to see the results WHEN you do get it.

I think there are possible sales here in your comments, me too!!! I agree, be an agent, (that sounds cool, I can see you dressed up like a secret agent)..
Glad you made it home and didnt get lost at the wine festival in Halls Gap!..

I felt the same way when I discovered gocco! Hold your breath and you may get one! (I did.) :)

Nup. Scream and shout and bluster all you like (better out than in). In the meantime I'm just lalalalalalala-ing because I'm feeling my own Veruca of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory coming out.

trashalou said...

Oh dear! Am I missing the 'get excited about plastic boxes' gene?

While I can imagine it will have spectacular results in your hands you do know you get nothing by whinging right? So don't you make me come overthere and make you behave because those results will not be pretty!

Lucy Locket-Pocket said...

I think you have the answer right here - become a sales rep for them! But have a tantrum in the meantime ok?!

They should be begging you to demo it! See what Jodie of selvedge fame can do with this marvelous screen printing machine. . . You can work on commission and become rich as well as famous!!

There is a little bit of Veruca Salt in all of us it seems. Like you, once I decide I want something, I find there is nothing more frustrating than not being able to have it NOW!
I feel your frustration.
Maybe you could contact the os distributors and offer to be the Aussie supplier (like you don't already have enough to keep you busy hey!) Just an idea.
Hope you are well and recovered from school camp!

OMG I so want one of these

I read somewhere that you can use a 40% off coupon when you order these from joann.com. it would ship from the US, still, but 40% off would help! I could send you the code if you want to try it out. Let me know.

oh that is so shiny and wonderful looking. I'd stomp my feet a bit more, maybe cry a bit too. You never know what might happen?

When a girls gets an idea in her head it can be really hard to shake it. I totally get were you are coming from...((hugs))

Go for it!!!! Forget the postage just buy it. How many times would you buy something like this and how often are you going to use it - lots knowing you. Why on earth did you work so hard for and during the Stitches and Craft if you aren't now going to spend your play money???

Ohh and the $112 postage is cheap - you should see what my hubby spent on postage getting a race uniform, helmet etc out here. Not that was scary!!!

Katy said...

Ha!! I emailed them too about getting one is Australia and was told the same thing! Arw you able to tell me where it will be demonstrated as i am in Brissie and would love to see it in action - can you leave me a comment on my blog? Maybe i could send you a video?

Tinniegirl said...

That is a fine looking machine. It sounds like I'll soon be able to buy mine from you as the Australian supplier!!!!

Love a good grown up tantrum. Nothing quite like it. Can you please post a video of yours for us?!?

ShazzB Art said...

Hi Jod, Will check it out in person for you at the textile show here (which is where I think it will promo). If you want to spend that US$122 on a plane flight to Brisbane, you can come stay with us and check it out in person! Shaz

I'll join you in your tantrum!

I want one; no idea what I would do with it, but it's a craft gadget I don't have and therefore one is required!

Wonder if they'll be available in the UK any time soon-ish......

You see I live by provo craft... As I am in Utah. I wonder if I could help you. My only concern is that we use a different electricity than the rest of the world it seems. Would it work for you?

Hi Jodie,

I'm going to the show in June - I can find out some information for you if you like . . . it's really only 4 weeks away . . .

They are actually doing a class on it - so I assume they will also be selling them at the show. Print Blocks are the sponsors so maybe they will know who will be retailing them in Victoria. I think they are going to be about $600 AUD?? Not too sure though. I've seen all the demos online as well - it looks great - like your own personal silk screening machine sort of but easier to use.

If you want me to pick up any information . . let me know . .
