Man, I have been busting myself to get this project finished today....
But no matter how many times I tweak and re-tweak, the inevitable crunch came when the perfect fabric ....was about 10 cm's too short. Oh the agony of a finish that is soooo close.

Today I also wrote a bit of list for myself and totally fruck myself out . The thing is , I'd like to get some new patterns ready for the Stitches and Craft show in May. I have a rather long list of things I'd like to do but in reality I have to accept that they will not all get done , so today I auditioned for projects to become patterns....
First place of course has to go to Ernst and his dear love Pebble...yes?
Then maybe these guys , once I finish their accessories...
and I'd love to do these guys as well.....
What do you think?
Will you be coming along to Stitches and Craft? If you came along last year you might have had the chance to visit one of the uber-busy craft bars.
Well, Living Creatively are looking for people to help "man" the craft bars. Volunteers are needed in Sydney(April 14 - 18), Canberra (April 22-25) and Melbourne (May 5-9).
They are looking for people to share basic sewing and embroidery skills with people at the craft bars.
There is also some fun crocheting that needs demonstrating in Sydney and Melbourne.
In return for a days "work" you'll get two free tickets to the show and a stitches and Craft bag.
Apart from that of course you'll get to meet a bazillion or so crazy crafters and share your skills with craft-lovers.
To find out more email enquiries(AT)stitchesandcraft(DOT)com(DOT)au
and if you're there, I'll be seeing you in Melbourne, displaying my usual grace and decorum and even reprising the bloggy talks of last year, this time hopefully with
less mishaps and less blood!
Absolutely positively Ernst and his date. I would love to see a Ernst following pop up all over the place. They could travel to see each other! There could be Ernst gatherings in wet places and parklands.....
ReplyDeleteAnd as for the list.... you are capable of all that and more. It's just time isn't always on your side. I'd love to book myself as a helper. Just have to ponder that....
I have been drooling over those middle guys ever since they started popping up on your blog so I definitely vote for them!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Ernst and Pebbles!
ReplyDeleteGreat to see Ernst back, missed him!! I'm doing Stitches & Craft Canberra, Incubator baby!! Love Posie
ReplyDeleteYes to all of them.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think my chances are of helping out in Melbourne? Nah, probably best not.
Have Ernst and Pebble and the monkey, pig and cat as patterns and have the monsters as kits maybe?? All the yummy wools in the kit would be delicious! I had hoped to get to Melbourne, but with no job at the end of this month and trying to save for France next year, don't think i'll make it :(
ReplyDeleteThe order you've posted them is perfect. Wish I could come over for the show, it sounds like fun!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Ernst is a MUST. If I see him at Stitches and Craft I will be buying it! My second choice would be the zipper mouth guys, I love the attitude.
ReplyDeleteDo you think you have time for work tomorrow??? Bring some show and tell, and I'll bring the birdies.
ReplyDeleteYou mean you're not coming to Sydney this year? But I missed you last year by attending on the wrong day! *boo hoo*
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, and yes to the patterns. I just noticed the belly buttons! Cute. As much as I'd like to be in Australia it's just not going to happen unless I win the lottery; in which case I'll charter a lear jet for comfort. :o)
ReplyDeleteBoy, oh boy, do I ever wish I come to your show! If Stephanie charters a jet, maybe I could stow-away?!
ReplyDeleteI am desperate for a pattern for Ernst and Pebbles, Jodie, so if you could please please please make one up for them and put them in your shop, I would be so happy!
And yes, the belly buttons are such a sweet touch!
I would love love love to hop on a plane to come to the craft shows you guys have. Not to mention the warmth right now, but alas, I cannot. However, I am really excited about Ernst and Pebbles!
ReplyDeleteErnst and Pebble are such a lovely couple, so obviously in love, sigh.
ReplyDeletethe trio is my favorite and the turtles are a close second. I would just like to thank you for sharing your mistakes. As a green softie lover and maker it gives me great encouragement when I hear about the struggles. Cause that feels like all I do right now. So, thanks for admitting the journey is bumpy to a lovely finished product.
ReplyDeleteYes to them! especially Ernst, Pebbles and those middle guys.
ReplyDelete:( that they aren't coming to Brisbane. Love the turtles - they are my fav.
ReplyDeleteOh Jodie, I love the your little zipper talkies. I want one to chat to me right now!
ReplyDeleteWill definately check you out at the show if I can get baby sitters (took 2 of the 3 last year and they were over it as I was just getting into it....sigh..)
they are all pattern worthy!!! I love the zipper monsters.
ReplyDeleteLove those zipper mouth guys!
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing you at the Show. Meeting you was one of the highlights of last year for me!
I liked your little messenger robots too and would also love a pattern for them... you are so talented! :)
ReplyDeleteSB
Definitely the zipper guys as it looks like the only way I'm going to get one is to make it myself!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, and yes. Hurry up!
ReplyDeletePlease pick Ernst and Pebbles - the worl needs more of them!
ReplyDeleteyes I am leaving a comment
ReplyDeletebecause it is GOOD
I AM COMING!!!!!! Not sure what day bit it will be a week day (screaming running through house)!
I will fly up JUST for the day. YAY and I think you should have the zip guys as well - but I want to buy one that is made by you (way to lazy here)
You have to do at least all of those that you have pictured. Honestly any of your creations are worthy of patterns but having tried to write one myself once I understand the time involved. Look forward to seeing what you do.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait for Ernst and Pebbles to visit my neck of the woods by way of a pattern. Let me know when they're available. So. Very. CUTE!!! Adorable too!!! Can you tell I'm excited?
ReplyDeleteOH definately Ernst and Pebbles, My heart still throbs for them both. The angony and the extacy of true love. sob sob, I love them and need them for my own! Please Please,
ReplyDelete- insert humiliated grovel here
:o)
When I was little, and my baby sister was being born, I really really really wanted to call her Pebbles.
ReplyDeleteAlas, my parents had other ideas.
But this way I get to have a Pebbles regardless. Hoorah
Oh how I wish I could be there! And I think all three of your projects would make great patterns!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously.... grace and decorum... now that is hard to believe!
ReplyDeleteHugs ~ Kerryanne
Jody, you need to tell me your secret for how you managed to squeeze in a few extra hours in a 24hr day! You completely amaze me with how much you get accomplished!
ReplyDeleteOh, and let's not talk about the whole realizing you're short on fabric when you've got a major deadline thing. Nothing irks me more than having THE perfect fabric and then finding out you don't have enough...and you can't get any more of that fabric! grrr!
definately ernst. maybe you could also present the story you did with them- we LOVED it. am of course happy to test drive the pattern if required (if you do not ask.....)
ReplyDeleteWell, if I can change my name in time and buy one of Trashy's excess plane tickets off her, I'll be there!!!
ReplyDeletexxx
Please do Ernst. I will buy that pattern.
ReplyDeleteDebbie and Speedy (the tort) vote for Ernst and his Love.
ReplyDeleteThe story really touched us. We'd love to have them join our family.
I'll see you there Jod! Save some patterns for me! LOL...
