It's back !!

After a recent email asking for instructions for the green quilt and some persistent, lets call it encouragement, from others, I dragged it out yesterday.

This quilt goes back a bit of way, and has been one the blog once or twice before.
A quilter I am not.
But yesterday with the crafty gods smiling and numerous cups of tea and trips to the ironing board, cutting mat, sewing machine , floor and back again, I have finally pieced the last third.

So now I guess I should be banging on about a sense of achievement and renewed excitement to tackle the quilting part. I should be excitedly pinning it together and draping it artistically over the bed.

Well it is true, I am very excited............................... and I have renewed crafty energy.

After all, finishing that quilt top means I get to add all these "extra" greens to my stash !

  4. I know almost nothing about quilting (which is a lot more than I knew before I started blogging) but I do think your green quilt is lovely and that you should get a wriggle on and finish it.

  16. I'm absolutely loving the green and white combo - so fresh and modern - well done Jodie! I'm currently working on about 4 quilts and sometimes I am quite over them. Other times I get bursts of energy and get stuck right in. I have just done heaps of hand quilting tonight and needed a chocolate and blogging break!

  17. This quilt is amazinf! The green fabrics you chose look so pretty against the white background!
I laso read some of your tutorials! And that 1 hour bag (which will take me somewhat more than an hour, but that's ok) is going to be perfect as a present for my mom!! And I want to make one for myself too, to use for school!
And....I have to admit, I really like working with patents. I know it's an aquired taste, in fact, I'm the only student working in that area in the entire school this semester!

  18. I absolutely adore this quilt and pour over the pictures each time you post about it. The green and white was so crisp looking from a winter perspective, and now that spring is here it looks so bright and fun. I just love it!

Have I missed somewhere that you've posted a pattern or directions? I would love to have a better idea of how this went together.

  20. I've just started doing quilting. Yesterday I spent all afternoon quilting the top of my second one. (I've got 4 kids, and in a moment of insanity I promised them all a quilt each. I did this so I could learn on them, and them make a really good one for me.)

*sigh* Your first post about the paraphanalia of quilt making and the tiiiime it takes really spoke to me....

It's like hitting your head with a hammer. The finishing is the amazing fun part.

There are too many unfinished quilts out there in the world...you owe it to society to get on and finish it off!

  32. I love love love love this Jodie! Green is one of my favourite colours, and the combination with all that white is superb. Can't wait to see it completely finished! You're inspiring me - I'm a non-quilter, and think it's time for me to make a quilt (or two) as well.
