I have pieced two of the three sections and am quilting them very simply.
I am just adding lines around the green and a few random rectangles. The starting and ending and hiding all the threads is what is taking me forever. Half a minute to quilt around a shape and then 5 minutes of knot tying and needle threading.
I have decided to quilt and join these two pieces before I start to piece the last third, simply because it takes ages and drives me slightly batty.
I was disappointed to find out today that the French word for Tampon is......................Tampon. Not even the French can make it sound attractive!
I just found your blog tonight and I have to tell ya I am lovin that quilt! The colors are so pretty.
ReplyDeletethat quilt is gonna be so pretty when you are done. i love all the greens :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I think the quilt is just fantastic! The quilting goes so well with the piecing, and you're doing a fabulous job.
ReplyDeleteLooking good. Nearly there.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt looks so good. I love the quilting, and the greens - fantastic!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it finished.
Your little purses are gorgeous. Love the duffel coat in the last post, it looks just like one I got for my little one last week.
Pretty purses and i suppose the tampon label should avoid confusion. I keep mine in a little tin and i'm sure my boys suspect lollies therein.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is just beautiful and I love the freshness of the white and green.
ReplyDeleteAt least no-one will feel tempted to see what you keep in your purse!!!
Lesley xx
Hahahahahaha - loving that purse - I almost choked on my Rice Krispies. Thanks for the first laugh of today.
ReplyDeleteThat quilt is simply stunning - I was telling my mother about it just the other day (she quilts. Big time! ) x
That isn't the most discreet tampon holder I have seen in my life...which I like, A LOT! I have never quite understood why we all try to get them out of our bags and hide them up sleeves before going to the toilet....they're tampons, not tools for taking drugs!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd why do men find it an almost impossible task to say the word TAMPON? One of life's mysteries.
The quilt is looking fab, but you are really putting me off trying one, all that thread tidying, YUK!
that tampon purse just cracks me up - I love it. Am still laughing...it's something about the sophisticated "mes" and the banal "tampons", and then the quirky handstitchedness - fabulous!
ReplyDeletethe quilt is looking wonderful too
You are a natural Jodie, for a Novelty Sewing you are doing a fabulous job on that yummy fresh green quilt. Well done and keep persevering.
ReplyDeleteHi Jod, Just a little note to tell you how clever you are and how clever I am!!
ReplyDeleteHey why not put that embroidery on your real purse !!! That will keep your money safe as nobody would be game to look in there.
ReplyDeleteAlison
The quilt is coming along beautifully. I love how its so simple with all the white and how the extra stitching gives it a whole other dimension (other than literally). Too bad about the French translation - I wonder what it is in spanish?
ReplyDeleteAHHHHH Ha ha ha ha....tampons! Ok that was really funny...lovely quilt btw
ReplyDeletegoodness that quilt is gorgeous! and the tampon case? adorable.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is stunning - even if you don't love it we all do!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the purse too!

Still going strong and still looking great. Love the way you are quilting. Can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt green is my fav colour. I'm sure tampon said with a French accent sounds much better that tampon said with an Australian one.
ReplyDeleteLoving the tampon purse! And the quilt, natch, but that purse is just fab!
ReplyDelete.... as is the duffel coat in your previous post .... how do you have the patience for it?
:)
You are going so well with that quilt-the white and green look so fresh-keep going-you can do it!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL at your little purse:)
mes tampons are dans le sac... You are funny! I love your frenchy-zakka purse... perhaps you could make some that say 'unmentionables' - for all the boys that can't say tampon!
ReplyDeleteWOW that is alot of quilting but it sure looks cool. Love the little tampon coin purse. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is coming on beautifully (say I, who have made all of one, yes, 1 quilt with your, and 3 other experts', help).
ReplyDeletePS When you have the time(hahahah), would you like to share your magnificent choc-date cake recipe with all of us?
Your quilt is beautiful but then I am partial to greens... lime greens love 'em!!!! and j'aime ton sac!!! I have to try to make some of those purses!!! where do you buy the hardware?
ReplyDeleteOh my, I am in love with your quilt, your doing a major fantastic job! Really!
