Why don’t you blog more Jodie? (or be careful what you wish for)

I spent most of the day farting about in the sewing room. I took a photo of my basket collection but didn’t think to get rid of the ugly doormat or half-dead geranium.

dudknight

I used a dud knight as my pincushion because I couldn’t find my real (and enormous) pincushion. He isn’t even sewn closed.

louieblack

I finished a monkey and thought about walking to the park to style him in a tree.

swear jar

I swore a lot at inanimate objects like the empty bobbin and the lost pincushion and the fabric that was a bee’s whisker too small.

It’s Spring!

and the baby rhinos are basking in the sunshinebaby rhinos

I personally have no time for basking but I have perfected the  running around like a headless chook look. I have one more week of intense insanity before things return to normal.Today I am working on a life sized, doubled headed chicken wire monster sculpture and photos of teeny tiny little railway model people….

Hang in there folks

Discombobulated.. or Jodie is sick of the sight and sound of herself

Most of the last two weeks has been disappointingly discombobulated ...Why ? well because I am an idiot basically. As usual, I set myself HUGE MASSIVE UNREACHABLE goals for the two weeks off work and then got the total shits on with myself for not even getting close to achieving them. Team that with a dose of E.I.T.T.T.S and that's a whole big overflowing cup of ugly !
It's so easy to concentrate on what I haven't done , or haven't had time to finish...
So pardon me while I indulge in a bit of reality therapy won't you?
Hi my name is Jodie and in the last two weeks :

Reuben got released.

I went to AQC with Annie and Lizzie where I bought a new sewing machine !
I was introduced to an awesome new fabric shop
I made a tea-set

I dressed an elephant

I made a truly beautiful tea-pot out of Liberty fabric from the aforementioned fabric shop.
I wrote a whole new pattern that is off being tested as we speak
I made an awesome chicken with Sooz and Amy during a fabulous visit. I mended clothes for the no-longer-living-at -home teen
I spent a day sewing with the hairy-still-living-at-home-teen.
I read 5 books (kids lit-nice and easy)
I finished the final tweaking of (as in totally finished) three projects for Daylesford Craft ExperienceI cooked, cleaned (not very much) mothered, daughtered, wifed, transported and generally did all that other boring non-blogworthy stuff as well.
My inability to logically look at that list and be happy with it drives me almost as insane as the ridiculous expectations I have in the first place. Seriously I should go to Cash Converters and trade my brain in for something useful - like a fondue pot!

When will I learn?

So, that last smug little comment on my blog ? yep ! You guessed it ! The weekend fell apart after that. We had to take our dog Ruben to the after-hours five million dollar vet yesterday and today he is back there having a "procedure".

Even though he was in heaps of pain yesterday with a massively swollen mouth abscess, which exploded and had him dribbling blood - he had the time of his life in the back of the Ute , cocker spaniel ears flapping in the breeze, tail wagging and sloppy, blood drool flying everywhere. Who cares if we thought he was knocking on deaths door - he was having the time of his crazy life! He is going to be fine, but somewhat disappointed because I have to pick him up in the regular car this afternoon.

In unrelated news, I decided a while ago that I wouldn't be doing a market stall this year, the whole whooping cough thing really slowed me down, and there is no way I can generate enough "stuff" for a stall. But I figured I can just have a mini market on Etsy instead. All the bits and bobs I have made throughout the year that get popped into the 'market tub' will be popped on Etsy instead.
I'm not going to do a huge update, I'll just add things as I go and as I finish things.
Today I'll be adding some gocco panels and a message-bot or two and maybe a zipper mouth monster.
There will be elephants and robots and I have no idea what else by the end of the month.

So there you go a bit of shop talk , a bit of dog talk and someone who should learn to keep her blog mouth shut!
