Today is the first of May and in 13 sleeps I will be heading to the Spring Quilt Market in Portland Oregon.
In 13 sleeps I will be going on my very first overseas adventure.
I can’t believe that this is actually happening
In case I don’t get a chance before I go, I just want to say thanks;
For hanging around and being awesome and saying nice stuff and having far more faith in me than I deserve.
(Of course if it all goes horribly wrong, I’ll be blaming each and every one of you)
Enjoy every second.
ReplyDeleteYay go Jodie!!!
ReplyDeleteHope you have an absolutely wonderful time. You always make me laugh, and there's not enough laughter so keep up the fabulous work!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time, hope it all goes well. Would love to see the look on the Custom Officers face when he/she sees all the superhero undies and eye masks. It will probably be hard to do but relax, enjoy your time there and soak it all up. You deserve it because you have worked so hard. Don't forget lots of pictures for us (hoping there isn't any freaks like when you did the photo shoot in the laneway!!!!)
ReplyDeleteI hope Portland shows you how beautiful she is. Although you'll be so busy inside meeting tons of people and having a great time. Are you going alone or do you have a sidekick that isn't stuffed? :o)
ReplyDeleteoh yes, daughter sidekick is coming along (She has no idea what she is in for)
DeleteWhatever happens I know you'll have fun.

ReplyDeleteHave a really wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteHave a fantastic time! Got to love starry jocks too.
ReplyDeleteWhat could possibly go wrong? As this is your first overseas trip, may I offer some plane ride tips?
ReplyDeleteYou are allowed essentially three pieces of luggage : your one checked in bag, which will have just about everything in it; then there is the carry on component. Being a woman, you will often have your handbag as well as your little wheel on case. In this case, have a change of clothes including footwear for the climate and time of day you are likely to arrive at the destination, as well as toiletry essentials. Don't forget the 100ml rule for all liquids. We check the weather of where we are going to ensure we will be appropriately dressed, and get changed in the loo before we get our luggage and do customs.
In your handbag, make sure you use a tote and put a small handbag in it. In that, keep your passport and that sort of stuff so it is handy. Stow this under your seat. Also, make sure you have one of those formed pillows and some earplugs. I've even got my own blanket that I made (a Quillow)and it was a good idea.
If you don't travel well, like I don't, your travacalm tablets and maybe some cammomile or lemon & ginger teabags to help your tummy stay calm. I put my earplugs in as soon as I get on the plane. I also have my own noise-cancelling headphones (they cost a bomb, but the work really well with my ear plugs). Make sure you drink plenty of water on the flight and walk around.
Have the best time, take lots of pics so you can regale us all with your Portland Adventure.
Cheers!
My coworkers and i are driving from Idaho (we work in a quilt store). We are crazy excited. I'll be looking for your space. Have lots of fun!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your trip, dont give cheek (bum or otherwise) to the US Customs personnel and have fun!
ReplyDeleteLots of fun and success to you!
ReplyDeleteNothing will go wrong but feel free to blame me if it makes you feel any better! Have a great deal of fun!
ReplyDeleteNot long now you lucky thing until your lovely trip :D
