Arrived

So, it has started.

And it is HUGE ! and exhaustingciting ( Thats my new word) The travelling was, well, you know ....long might be a bit of an understatement. Today Jemma and I mastered the local light rail and located Target ( which sells alcohol and really awesome useless stuff for a dollar) and IKEA. I met Angie and her amazing family and we began the booth setup.

Famous Folk 1 : Saw Kathy Mack of Pink Chalk Studio from a distance

Famous Folk 2 : Saw Bari J's booth but she wasn' t there.

Weird Stuff 1: In Portland there are bubble taps in the street ( drinking fountains) that just bubble all the time. I find this even more disturbing than I can explain.

And its now tomorrow here and if you are where I left you, then its even tomorrower than that .
I'll see you then.

  5. Ok, so I'm really wondering about the bubblers. If they are constantly bubbling, are they recycling the water? Like, all of it? Hmmmm....

  14. Jodi,
Glad you are having fun in Portland! I visited last summer when my husband had a conference there. I wanted to let you know that I did a bike tour of Portland and they told me about the water fountains. They are very old and the government put them in for construction workers. Because before those fountains, the workers would get thirsty and ditch work for beer! I thought that was pretty funny! have fun!

  15. Enjoy your visit here! I've lived in Portland my whole life and love it. The bubblers? We loved them as kids! People used them all the time. As an adult (45), I would NEVER drink from them nor let my kids and we rarely see anyone use them. :)

  18. I am so excited for you. I shall enjoy quilt market through you. Enjoy every minute and thank you for that new word "exhaustingciting" that is a fantastic description. I think we should petition Macquarie Dictionary to add it to the Australian edition.

  19. Hi Jod, enjoy Portland and those bubble taps and all those famous and fabulous crafty people; no doubt many of them will be stalking you too. I am on Kathy Mack's newsletter list and have given up trying to work out how many degrees of separation that is... Looking forward to the next post.

  21. Bubble taps horror. Only someone who has lived through (and been scarred by) water retrictions would understand, right?
I hope you are having a wonderful trip.
