I think it's a matter of perspective. You need to photograph it in a smaller room to make it a rug. Right now, on your red floor, it is still a mat. Sorry. Cherrie
Oh that rug is really nice. Of course it's a rug, just depends what size you want it to be, but it definitely looks like a rug ... at least where I'm looking from
Sometimes you only need a small rug. It's all your fault - now I'm doing a workshop at Spinners and Weavers on toothbrush rugs. I'm blaming you totally....lol.
Goodness, I have a set of untouched fat quarters on a shelf that I call a quilt - so surely this was a rug ages ago! Maybe they are a rug though hmmmm tempted.
Ohh! Ooh!!!!! Great idea. Since you want to make more, how about a stack of these in your library for the kids to sit on and read? You can make a bazillion of them and they won't be so large that it would be overwhelming. In this case, yes, it's a child-sized rug! :) :)
A floor doiley ... I like that!!! Maybe you could photograph it with something out of scale on it - like a piece of dolls house furniture?!!! Then you could call it a rug :- )
A rugling? I like it, and I want to make one. ive not seen this before - have been on 'blog holiday'--- what is this thing? A new craze amongst bloggers it would seem - I gotta know all about it... P
Hi, I am Jodie Carleton. I started this blog in 2007 and somehow a tiny business grew from it. So now when I am not at my regular job I can be found happily making toys in my sewing room or swearing at the computer as I try and write the patterns. I am obsessed with foxes, pinnochio, Red Riding Hood and mechanical toys- actually pretty much any toys.
Say Hi if you have time, feel free to email me with any questions you have, I'm always happy to procrastinate by answering emails.
These tutorials are here for you to have a try. Please feel free to make any number of these items for your own use or gift-giving but please do not make items to sell using these instructions.

I think if you can comfortably stand in the middle of it... it's a rug!
getting close, I'd go a tiny bit bigger for that space.

depends how many cheeks it fits ;-)
I want to come and play in your room. The carpet looks (and is) so soft and squishy.
Definitely a rug!
I'm going to start one when I get out of hospital. I'm determined!
Whatever you call it at this stage doesn't matter as it's blossomming beautifully!
It's looking mighty fine and flat whatever you call it.
Ruglet...?
That Peppermint Penguin is naughty!I was going to say deends how many cats you can fit on it.
Well that really depends on your purpose for it, doesn't it? Looking good, by the way!
I think it's a mat at the moment, but it's gorgeous!

Hmmmm---it looks plenty big enough to step out of the shower onto...I'd call it a rug.

Yep!! Keep going your only a third of the way!! Hehe ;) xx
Of course it is! Anything that has the potential to cover any unsightly marks/stains children leave on flooring is a rug. It looks great (so far?).

Works for me! I can see that next to my bed, by the shower, in the foyer, on the landing...
