Miss almost-19 is on a gap year , you know that time taken between school and university- to learn about yourself,
to help you make those important who-am-I and what do I want to do with my life type decisions ? A time to cast off the childhood and become an adult?
Well , it is only May and already she has learnt one immutable truth
(I'm so proud)
Rightly so!!

for me it was passion pop, but that doesn't have the same ring to it!!
ReplyDeleteDid she make that? It's fantastic. Gawd, it's been a while since I had some fruity lexia. Used to love Tropicana, me.
ReplyDeleteHmm
Tropicana makes boys funner?
Lock her up now!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, i remember learning that lesson when I was 18!!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny. Great that she learns that fact now!
ReplyDeleteHa ha - do they still sell that stuff??? Mmmm Island Coolers bring back memories too
ReplyDeleteThat's a classic! Thanks for the laugh!
ReplyDeleteAhhhh Fruity Lexia - I couldn't go past a Westcoast Cooler, but that's a whole other embriodery project!
ReplyDeleteoh yes I remember that lesson waaaay back in the day! I think wine was just invented then
ReplyDeleteyou crack me up Jodie i dont know how your imagination keeps going (growing)......maybe too much fruity Lexia yourself.....
ReplyDeleteMy daughter spent her gap year in France where they use champagne, but it just makes the boys more of... a pain??
ReplyDeleteHaving a West Coast Cooler flash back .....
ReplyDeleteLove the scarf!
Thankyou so much you have just helped me justify all the money I spent on locks for my daughters door! It does take me back to Blackberry Nip days ......
ReplyDeleteOh Clare - blackberry nip - that takes me back! Jodie, great to see that fabulous stitchery in all its glory - I'm so proud to say I knew it way back when (all of two weeks ago, when we were killing ourselves laughing on the train...)
ReplyDeleteFruity Lexia, Island Coolers and West Coast Coolers ahhh brings back memories! To Miss almost 19, enjoy your gap year, make it one to remember for all the good things you did!
ReplyDeleteOh I have a hang-over just remembering about it! What a great idea...the gap year that is, not the sickly wine coolers ;-)
ReplyDeleteHa ha so true!
ReplyDeleteI'm another West Coast Cooler girl.
ReplyDeleteHahahahahahahahaha - West Coast coolers.
ReplyDeleteHehehe.... I've only ever been sick twice from drinking too much, and the first time, more than 20 years ago, was from Fruity Lexia out of a cask.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, the boy did look sexy, and he thought I was alright too.... until I threw up in his hat. It was one of those baseball caps with the devils horns growing out of it.
Aaahh to be young again!
Linda. :)
Hee hee - Fruity Lexia obviously gives you the 'beer goggles' effect!!
ReplyDeleteHow else could we ensure the future of humankind?

It's always been my secret weapon.
ReplyDeleteR
... and proud you should be!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I lived in London a flatmate of mine was known for having such beer goggles- girls he swore to us were gorgous- while he was drunk- the night before and then in the morning they would be quite plain... it was hilarious- so we glued some pint glasses onto a pair of old sunnies and made him wear them on his 30th birthday for the whole night.
I learned that lesson to at about the same age (or perhaps even a bit earlier!). Then the sexy fruity lexia boy introduced me to his cousin....
ReplyDeleteI married the cousin and now breathe a sigh of relief as sexy fruity lexia boy is now middle aged, paunchy and grey!!
Oh Jodie, you are hilarious. I just laughed out loud. What a scary truth too. hehe. x
ReplyDeleteI missed my gap year. Can I take it now?
ReplyDeleteBetter she learns that now rather than later!! Hope she has a wonderful Gap year.
