Here at the squeezy end, things are slowly coming together.
This stuff just kills me. It's 100% hand over dyed wool. 
It is spectacular, and soft and sews like a dream....and yes I may have had to sell a few internal organs to buy it.....but look at those colours.
Today I was finally brave enough to start cutting it. The wools became packs for making disco-bots , three colours per pack for bodies, legs and arms.
Cutting and folding and picking colours was a bit of therapy this afternoon after a day of clothes shopping - I went shopping with Miss 18 for new clothes...lets just say its not exactly a boost to ones self-esteem to go shopping with a teeny tiny drop-dead gorgeous teenager.
You know if you have to read the tag on a garment to figure out where on your body it should be worn, I say , leave it on the rack....

hilarious! i'm sure that wool would sew much nicer than my terrible slinky tricot did today:: my feeddog keep eating the fabric, and when i toook the foot off((for the third time)) i stabbed myself with the needle. right thru the finger. if you've done this...you KNOW. if not,,,,,well, you'll get it one day. ow ow ow.

hahahaha, I so GET IT! I raised 2 daughters & then 3 sons.....now I have to wear my readers to see my big WOMEN Sizes, ugh! The only wee bit of revenge, is one daughter is post-partum & not fitting into anything and the other is bumping out widely, due
in July, SO IT DOES COME AROUND..........I promise.

Oh yes. I know what you mean! Fortunately Dot is like me and more interested in books, wool and fabric than clothes and bling. Unfortunately Daisy is completely the opposite.............!

Love the wool felt! Having only boys, I have never taken a girl clothes shopping. Perhaps I haven't missed much after all.
The mirrors in the clothes shops don't help either do they!

one of the happiest days of my life was when daughter # i was old enough to take daughter #2 clothes shopping on their own...and then, of course when daughter #2 could take daughter #3!
all three did allow me to sew a few of their clothes, especially prom dresses, so i guess i was a wee bit useful.

I hate clothes shopping, nothing fits my curvy bits properly, lucky I don't have to help a skinny teen shop, I think it would be very depressing!!
Very nuie woollies, the colours are stunning. It is bad enough shopping with a nearly 8 year old who thinks everything should sparkle, I am dreading the teenage years.
Is it wrong to want to pet the wool? Clothes shopping UGH. I'd rather it be for the teeny tiny daughter than myself though. As daughter (23) tries on darling dress that's a wee bit big the saleslady asks to get her a smaller size. My response is...you have something smaller than a zero? There is no such thing! My thigh wouldn't fit in a zero. Sigh.

I gave birth to lots of leggy blonde schoolies, shopping for them is alarming, what i see as 'finally, this will fit' the tag says 12-24 months!! Their lithe little bodies have never fit their real age to size ratio!! Good thing i'm not a size 35 though, he he he, love Posie
Enjoy your daughter. Mine is 40 this year and although she is still gorgeous, she no longer looks 18 and rightly so. We are not going to mention my age, size or shape!
My verification word is crotspeg that's how I feel shopping with my daughter !

Miss almost 10 is not a fan of shopping, and is only interested in wearing t-shirts and shorts - long may this last! Clothes shopping is something I avoid like the plague - why waste perfectly good fabric buying money? :-)

Fabulous Jodie! Must share - yesterday my package arrived that contained my online clothes order. Now, I had used the company's size charts to pick the size to order in, but when I opened the packages, I thought, "Wow- that's huge." And the husband said, "Hmm, maybe you can return them and swop for a smaller size." And I tried them on and - ahhhhhh, no, they were the right size. No returns needed.
But you know - your Miss 18 - she's the gorgeous Selvedge Frock model, yes? - she has good genes - and they're yours!
Nah, I thought about it and you are old.
Oh can't wait to see the finished dolls...
Sigh - gone are the days of fining in to a size zero, and soooo true about picking up a garment thinking its a skirt when its a dress! Kx
Another thought in answer to Angelina stabbing herself in the finger with the needle. A couple of months ago I broke the needle off in my finger, top end went straight through the nail-bed and not quite out the other side, but also had a long double piece of cotton hanging out the top still threaded to the needle end (couldn't see the needle).
Popped of to A&E and 2 hours later, finger still in pain as started to swell, one Xray to see if in one piece, 2 large injections in the finger, which I thought was going to burst by this point. One steady doctor, pinched my finger grabbed the needle end with tweezers and pulled, then asked me if I wanted the cotton back........ I declined, and went home to large glass of wine. K
Aahhh... I avoid shopping with my teen princess - it never ends well. I have been heard on occasion to say that she may well be tall, skinny and beautiful but at least I have WISDOM!! The wisdom to be completely happy with who I am and the shape I am.
They need another 20 years before they can obtain that sort of wisdom - LOL.

I have sons, but still know how you feel...going out with a friend who's got a lovely figure, is 10 years younger than me, wants to lose some weight as she's worried about being a size 10, where I'm worried size 16 is getting tight...she looks great trying on clothes, I look lumpy bumpy. Oh dear! where's my puple hat LOL

Hi Jodie: Fabulous felt - and yes, while I don't often get to go shopping with my skinny-minny daughter, who lives far far away and is now 30, I still remember the anguish. As for clothes shopping all by myself, I don't have to look into one of those horrible mirrors to know that yes, my bum definitely looks big in this!
I do love a bit of felted wool! Beautiful colours and yes I have to wait till my dog has puppies and I sell them ( bit easier maybe than internal organs?? I may rethink that when both my girls have their puppies at the same time this year and all the babies are 4 weeks old and messing on the porch! ) before I can indulge in such luxury :-)

I love the colour combo's Jod. What is it about choosing fabric and wool colour combinations that is so therapeutic, and makes you feel so good? I totally love it. Oh, and I totally know what you mean about the self esteem thing - I have to watch our models on fitting nights and it's not good for me at all! xx

It will only continue with me. The eldest(girl)is neary 20, then a boy who doesn't count because of lack of interest,
15 year old sweetie girl and then 10 year old twin girls.
Yeah, yeah, teen girls are good and all that. Well, it continues to be a massive challenge for me.
