*Mad applause* by the drunks in the back corner

"Thank you, tonight I'd like to do a little number that's very dear to my heart. Its been covered by a lot of people but I think there's something in it for everyone.

FEVER

Never know how much I love them
never know how much I care
When I start a brand new project
I get a fever that’s so hard to bare

They give me fever
When I cut them
Fever when I sew them right
Fever
When I’m sewing
selvedge by Janome light

I sew in the day time
I sew in the night
I light up when I see that edge
and you know I’m gonna treat it right

They give me fever
When I cut them
Fever when I sew them right
Fever
When I’m sewing
selvedge by Janome light

Every fabrics got some selvedge
That is something you all know
Selvedge isn’t just a scrap piece
Selvege baby’s all the go.

Jodie and her selvedge edges
have a very mad affair
When somebody tries to toss them
She says honey oh don't you dare

They give me fever
When I cut them
Fever when I sew them right
Fever
When I’m sewing
selvedge by Janome light

Now you listened to my story
Here's the point that I have made
I’ve run completely out of selvedge
I’m begging baby, I’ve no shame.

Thank you , thank you , you are too kind.....umm...excuse me...security...could you get those two old soaks under control up the back there....Oh sorry its Locket and Moogs, no , no they're fine.....Just a little emotional.

  1. I believe when one has a strong "umm" habit that you should only drip fees through the good stuff, so I have an emergency envelope for such an occasion. Can you please send me your address again and I can hook you up.

  12. Last time I saw you, you said you had stacks of selvedge. What have you been up to? Can you wait until Saturday?
    Love the "Fever"!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Oh Jod you're a classic! I was in need of a good laugh too!

You just gotta love those Japanese selvedges. I don't get many selvedges cause I usually buy 30cm strips of fabrics and (my luck is fantastic like this) they usually get cut RIGHT before the cool bit of the selvedge starts. Every time.

I actually "HAD" to buy another half metre of fabric at Amitie once just because my first half metre ended up getting cut off right before the cute apple selvedge began!

  38. dear selvedge addicit,

on a recent jaunt to ye olde nippon to terrorise the outlaws with the sporn, one couldn't help but notice all the pretty selvedges on fabrics that chose to become part of the stash. one gave a knowing :D and knew who would truly appreciate them. if you leave a note @ mcspannar(at)hotmail(dot)com with details, said selvedges could be in your hot little hands in the next week or so. :D

    ReplyDelete
  39. That had me singing right along! Happy to chop off some selveges and send them your way if you email me where to send them.

    ReplyDelete

Next time I get to the selvedgey bit I will send it round your way.

  56. Oh, Jodie, once again you make me laugh. Those selvedges you showed - are they the norm in your part of the world? I am very embarrassed about the b o r i n g
ones I sent. I've never seen darling ants or ice cream cones or anything except numbers and dots.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I had already put a few aside for you Jodie! So I'll keep adding to it! There may not be heaps but better you have them than the bin!! Great song by the way......

I too am on my feet!
I am not a very prolific sewer but you have a promise....I will save all future selvedges for Jodie....

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think someone's fabric might be giving off fumes.

Of course, now I'll be singing that all day.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  72. What a cack....I must admit that I had a little sing along as well. You have made me not only smile but a big laugh as well so thanks for that. I will B/mark you with a star. If you send me your address I will save and send some selvages for you.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Great song choice! That's a classic. *applause* :-)

    ReplyDelete
  75. You are so fun Jodie. Those are some fabulous selveges. Don't you think companies (well, especially Japanese ones) are making selveges more beautiful than ever! Maybe they've been lurking here! I love you channeling Peggy Lee.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Send me your address so I can tip you in selvege! Clapping hands, great song.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Hahaha...that was fun!

    ReplyDelete
  82. for some reason you appear to no longer be updating on the old bloglines thingy. I'll have to have a fiddle about with it.
