Izzy & Archie

Today because Jodie was only half-grumpy, she took us to the park.

Archie was very excited to see all the water in the pond , but I thought it looked a bit yucky. Did you know ducks go to the toilet in that pond?
Jodie said he could only do pretend fishing and she made him sit a long way from the edge.
After fishing, we did sliding and we slided together a bit and we slided on our own and Archie slided on his belly.
Jodie said she thought that belly slides were a bit dangerous for boys who are only three, even if they think they are super-heroes. Archie didn't listen , because little brothers who are only three never ever want to listen to grown-ups.
I was catching Archie at the bottom and he crashed right over the top of me and I got all pushed in the dirt. Then I cried a little bit because I was a bit muddy. Jodie said don't worry because mud doesn't count if it is just on the back.

Then Jodie said that we had ten more minutes so we should do some swinging. I like swinging the best but I don't like it best when Archie kicks his legs all everyway and makes the swing go
sideways. I like it best when he is not swinging at all!

Jodie made us have a very best smiley photo on the swing and you can't even see the mud which is just on the back of me and not on the front- then it was all over and finished and time to go home already.

  1. Lucky you Izzy & Archie to go to the park...you sure look like you had a good time. Good that Jodie is now only half-grumpy, hopefully soon she won't be grumpy anymore. I hope she managed to wash that mud off your pretty dress Izzy, even if it is on the back so it doesn't count.

  2. I will be needing that pattern, Jodie. No doubt about it. The frog-girl at my house would never forgive me if she found out I'd passed on the opportunity.

  3. Did you know Jodie, that three year olds are big enough to go on the really tall spirally slide, even on their tummies?

Even though it scares their mummy too much to slide down it again with their little brother after doing it once.

  7. Archie, if you big sister or Jodie tell you not to slide on your belly then slide on your bum but pick your feet up high, you will go that fizzwingerling fast that they will think that belly sliding is OK again.

  8. Your frog children are not beating the beejeesus out of eachother, making frog voodoo dols and sticking pins in them. I am impressed.

Hope the lungs are a little better.

  16. I'm glad you guys had fun at the park but be very careful, not only do ducks go to the toilet in the pond, they eat little frogs if they get the chance!

  17. I love your stories/documentaries! Hope you're feeling better too.

  18. So glad Jodie was feeling well enough to accompany you to the park. 3-year old boys are silly. Big sisters are the best.

  27. Excellent that you found some sunshine and some energy to get to the park together!! I know the ducks use the pond as a toilet... but you know frogs do too??!

  28. Oh I'm so relieved to hear that Jodie is only half grumpy! And you really don't need to worry about mud on the back of your dress if it's not on the front - because that's a very pretty dress you've got there Izzy. But little brothers can be very annoying so I hope you manage to sort Archie out before he does anything else that he shouldn't. Lots of love Lucy xxx

P.S. Tell Jodie to get fully better soon!

  29. Awww, poor little Izzy! The best part is that she didn't get that gorgeous little embroidered pinafore dirty!

  30. Delighted to hear the three of you were well enough for a trip to the park!

  31. Hey so nice to see you have been out for a play at the park.

Hope Jodie gets the not grumpies soon!

  32. Go Archie. So glad Jodie was feeling well enough to take you and Izzy to the park. She does have a pretty dress, but it's not as cool as your super cape and shorts. Big sisters are just trying to look out for you, you know, but I don't think you should land on her and make her dress muddy. Lucky for you it was just the back or Izzy would be full-on grumpy!

Be nice and quiet after the park just in case Jodie needs a nap from all your adventures.

    Cheers,
    AJ

  37. Super Archie, you're the best 3 year old hero ever, even if your big sister gets fussed about a dumb old dress. She's still smiling though!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Jodie, just so you will know and it' won't come as a huge suprise (like the time my mom put duck eggs under a setting hen, and when the babies started swimming the poor mom hen was so distressed!) that you may put a pinafore on a frog, but you won't keep them out of the water.

  39. So glad you got Jodie out of the house. Be careful in the mud.

  49. Hurrah! The park! Which must mean that Jodie is feeling much better and has new internal organs having coughed up the other ones!!!

    A frog he would a belly-sliding go?

A book of short stories is definitely a must... Jodie in day care may also be a must!

  50. Thank you for sharing your day in the park! Wish I was there.

  51. Gorgeous - I wonder if this story will become as popular as Parsley and Beet's with my little one - she suddenly starts reciting that story at any time(but especially when jumping in puddles)...

  58. A confession? Parks are starting to make me grumpy. Unless very best efforts are made, there is a tendency to come over all disgruntled and impatient like. Hat is therefore off to you for doing park in half grump from the start. I can see those froggies have a winning way about 'em.

  59. So fun and adorable! I missed your being sick, I'm glad to see you're feeling a bit better now, Jodie, take care of yourself!
