The not-so-very-secret-at-all-bloggers-who-wear-yo-yo's- society.

Okay so maybe thats not a very catchy title, but Miss Julie had a great idea.

Julie is coming to the Daylesford Makers Market tomorrow and meeting up with some friends, so much like a blind date where people promise to wear a certain flower in their buttonhole, Julie will be wearing a pink yo-yo !

I think this is a great idea !
Just think of all the blogmeets, craft shows etc that we all go to and blog about, only to have people comment and say "oh no I was there at that time too, I wish we could have caught up".

So here is the plan , if you are coming to the Daylesford Makers Market tomorow why not wear a yo-yo and let people know you are a blogger. Of course if you want a more anonymous feel to the day thats cool too. Actually I will have a free selvedge key-ring for all the yo-yo wearing bloggers who come and say Hi ! (until I run out)

I am excited by this idea Miss Julie, why not adopt it as the Universal Crafty Blogger version of the secret handshake.... Go forth and yo-yo !

( and if anyone can think of a better name that the-not-so-very-secret-at-all-bloggers-who-wear-yo-yo's-society pop over and let Julie know)

I don't think there could be a better name could there?

By the way, sorry to say I am a late scratching for a Daylesford trip tomorrow. Sprained ankles and crazy corporate life have declared me incapacitated. Will look forward to seeing you somewhere else around the traps.

Hope you have a fabulous day.

Oh how fantabulous... I wish I could go - although I'd have to mug someone else for their yo yo on the way over - I've not made one in my entire life!

Hope you have fun!

I will hopefully be there and it's a great idea, but not sure about the yo-yo - never made one ... hmmm ... some investiginating in order!! Otherwise, I'll be the one with the mangled bit of fabric stuck to her shirt!

I love this idea too, the new pink carnations! For us non puff makers I think that Julie might be also bringing some extras. Or did I imagine that Julie? Hope I get in quick to pick up one of your keyrings Jodie! Should be a great day, can't wait to see everyone xo

I think that's a perfect name for a not-so-secret-society (better than a funny handshake), I'll be there with my yo-yo, made it yesterday, all ready to go-go!

"The devine society of the yo-yo sisters", perhaps? Cute idea!

I'll be there :) and wearing a yo yo. How about 'Yo-yo's united' for a name? I do like Sharon's suggestion of the yo-yo sisters too.

This is a super idea...much better than name badges...and it is sorta like a secret society...Mwah ha ha ha!
Sort of like "undercover bloggers or sew-ers" :p
Love the name!

What a fab idea! When I went to my first bloggy meet up in London a couple of years ago Gina (Fan My Flame) made us all fantastic rag-rug-style pink carnations - we were certainly a talking point as we went round the show!

What a fabulous idea. Wish I could be there wearing a pink yo-yo. Here is a yo-yo tutorial which will show you how to make them even without the Clover thingy!!

I am not jealous. I am not jealous. I am not jealous. If I say it enough, maybe I'll believe it. :>} Jealousy is a sin, you know!

What an incredible idea....the simplest are the best. Love your key ring too...shame I'm not there to wear one (yo yo) and bag one (selvedge key ring!)!

Hope it all went well...were the good folk of Daylesford amused, or alarmed, by pink yo-yos clustering furtively under eaves and in corners of cafes? Did any fake fifth-column noncraft political bloggers try to infiltrate by sporting purachsed yoyos? And why do we call them yo-yos, I thought they were Suffolk Puffs...?

Micki said...

I love the name that was chosen. What a fun group and I do love making yo yos too.
