Its done ! The scarf of longing and branches and texture is finished. (You may need to backtrack to this post to understand)
The fabrics are a mix of bought from pipijoe, donated by Kirsty (Thank you) and stuff from the stash.
I love the gocco pieces. I retyped part of the Scarf blog post and translated it to French and then gocco'ed the text onto some wool, satin and other general shiny fabrics as well as some velvets.
I foundation pieced it together and then backed it with some soft black velveteen.
I actually made two of these at the same time, one I am going to keep and it will debut at work tomorrow and the other one will be in the next shop update.
Now which one to keep...Johnny? oh Johnny? Could you possibly come over and just drape these around your neck? pardon? You think they might look better against bare skin?
Do I mind if you take off your shirt?

WOW! Its gorgeous. It all looks so good. The colour, texture and print, great combo.
Oh, the colours. The moodiness, the bleakness, the richness. The little ruched maroon bit (as previously mentioned) which is my favourite bit.
Make sure you ask Johnny if he doesn't mind doing a Ric Rac photo spread.....I'm sure he won't... do you need someone to hold the flash?
Ooooo! There's an idea. A Johnny photospread! You could syndicate it as a specialist craft blog three page spread!
I hope you'll be taking a photo of Johnny in the scarf - for blog purposes. It's just that we need to see it being modelled. Nothing gratuitous, honest.

That is a beautiful scarf. I would love to see it hanging around Johnny's neck, but if he is too shy to be photographed, maybe a shot of someone else wearing it?

Johnny or no Johnny, those scarves are gorgeous...but why is my pulse quickening over two scarves,they are very special,but you had to paint the picture. Can he also read the French bits with an accent? Now thats longing!(the french bits are genius by the way)

I've told Johnny to get his arse out of my bed (he smokes roll ups in my bed, it's quite disgusting) and get himself over to yours. When you're done with him send him back. Wow, this turned out so well.But then I must admit I expected no less than something this beautiful. Just a teensy bit disappointed about the lack of 'modeling' shots. I was half wondering if you would photoshop the scarf onto Johnny...hehehe, and then you could also photoshop yourself into the picture next to him, looking aloof while he gazes adoringly at you...
I don't know what I love most,the scarf or the way you tell your stories about it!I think I told you this before,but you are sooo good with words and writing and you are funny too so if you've made enought scarves and other pretty things you can always become a writer!hugs Dees
