A quilter I am not.
But yesterday with the crafty gods smiling and numerous cups of tea and trips to the ironing board, cutting mat, sewing machine , floor and back again, I have finally pieced the last third.
So now I guess I should be banging on about a sense of achievement and renewed excitement to tackle the quilting part. I should be excitedly pinning it together and draping it artistically over the bed.
Well it is true, I am very excited............................... and I have renewed crafty energy.
After all, finishing that quilt top means I get to add all these "extra" greens to my stash !
Mmm...love all the greens!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving it, but, I'm also thinking...send it away to be quilted..lol
ReplyDeleteVerrrrry cool quilt! And NO don't send it to some one else! You can quilt this! DO IT!!
ReplyDeleteI know almost nothing about quilting (which is a lot more than I knew before I started blogging) but I do think your green quilt is lovely and that you should get a wriggle on and finish it.
ReplyDeleteI love it!! Fabulous, doesn't it make you feel great that you completed the top??
ReplyDeleteLove the colors. You've done a great job.
ReplyDeleteJust think Jodie, once you have done this one, you can make another one! and another, and another, and another, and another.. well I am sure you get the picture!
ReplyDeleteMe? Hmm I'd sent it out to be quilted, just so I didn't have to wrestle it under the sewing machine...

Hi Jodie
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt - I would give it to emma to finish .. hahahaha. No really, I would hand quilt it with lots of circles. I picked up your gift today too. Thanks so much for that - too much - too nice Jodie!
It is the freshness of this quilt that gets me ! I love it!
ReplyDeleteWell done you!! I love that quilt so much - it's a real touch of spring :)

Great greens - it"s looking wonderful!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt pattern. I want to rush of and do one to.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Jodie, really impressive especially for a non quilter!!! and nothing like feeding your stash. You've done a great job with it.
ReplyDeleteI'm absolutely loving the green and white combo - so fresh and modern - well done Jodie! I'm currently working on about 4 quilts and sometimes I am quite over them. Other times I get bursts of energy and get stuck right in. I have just done heaps of hand quilting tonight and needed a chocolate and blogging break!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is amazinf! The green fabrics you chose look so pretty against the white background!
ReplyDeleteI laso read some of your tutorials! And that 1 hour bag (which will take me somewhat more than an hour, but that's ok) is going to be perfect as a present for my mom!! And I want to make one for myself too, to use for school!
And....I have to admit, I really like working with patents. I know it's an aquired taste, in fact, I'm the only student working in that area in the entire school this semester!
I absolutely adore this quilt and pour over the pictures each time you post about it. The green and white was so crisp looking from a winter perspective, and now that spring is here it looks so bright and fun. I just love it!
ReplyDeleteHave I missed somewhere that you've posted a pattern or directions? I would love to have a better idea of how this went together.
It is very gorgeous! And those greens will be fab to play with - I'm thinking little girl's Spring dresses!
ReplyDeleteI've just started doing quilting. Yesterday I spent all afternoon quilting the top of my second one. (I've got 4 kids, and in a moment of insanity I promised them all a quilt each. I did this so I could learn on them, and them make a really good one for me.)
ReplyDelete*sigh* Your first post about the paraphanalia of quilt making and the tiiiime it takes really spoke to me....
It's like hitting your head with a hammer. The finishing is the amazing fun part.
I remember the very first comment I ever made on your blog was when you posted a picture of that quilt in progress. I think it's utterly fantastic - gorgeous. Well done for finishing the top bit. And those greens you now have to spare ... mmmmmmmmm. x
ReplyDeletebeautiful quilt. would look great on a bed in summer - so cool!

ReplyDeleteThere are too many unfinished quilts out there in the world...you owe it to society to get on and finish it off!
Lovely job! Great bits for your stash too-well done:)
ReplyDeletenow there is a green quilt that I love! it's amazing.
ReplyDeleteoh I love all the greens!!!!
ReplyDeleteI hate now having to get off the floor to the machine to the ironing board, back to the machine and lugging my belly around with me the whole time!
Just stumble upon your lovely blog. I love this quilt! I'm very into white background quilts like this right now. Thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteI really like this quilt! Yes, that is the lime color I am crazy about right now. You are going to have a nice collection of green scraps when you are finished! Good luck, it looks like you are almost there.
ReplyDeleteI totally love this quilt! I love green, but the layout is to die for too!
ReplyDeleteJodie-

I love love love love this Jodie! Green is one of my favourite colours, and the combination with all that white is superb. Can't wait to see it completely finished! You're inspiring me - I'm a non-quilter, and think it's time for me to make a quilt (or two) as well.
