National Sewing Month

Did you know it is Natonal Sewing month? I didn't know that sewing had its own month !

It's all happening over at Allfreesewing on the favecrafts blog . Not only are they showcasing a new free tutorial or patttern everyday, but there are also daily prizes and a grand prize at the end of the month available to US and Canadian residents.

So far there has been tote bags, table runners, a jewellry organiser bias tape, toys and tips for garment sewing, a bit of everything.

Today it is my turn and I have shared a very quick little decoration called Woodland Christmas. You can make this guy up all red and white and santa-ish, or use some earthy tones and make a little woodsman. (He has his own tree). Add a ribbon and he is ready to haang on your tree. It is all hand sewn and just about as quick and simple as a project is possible to be

You know it's been donkeys years since I've made a little blog freebie and this one is completely downloadable through googledocs. Just pop on over to Favecrafts and get the link.

In other news, I know people are waiting for particular patterns to be PDF'd and aded to the shop, just let me get over the shock of the return-to-work on Monday, get the computer back to its normal self...and I'll be on it.

  3. Hi Jodie...How very timely as the components for Santa have been packed in the basket the past week as one of tomorrow's projects and you've reminded to ask...where on the planet do you get a teeny tiny buckle? See you tomorrow :)))

    1. The buckles look like the bra clips to me. You should be able to find them with the elastic and other makings for bras and underwear in your local haberdashery shop. (I know Spotlight etc has them)

  7. sewing month? Sewing MONTH!? It's all sewing all the time here. If I'm not sewing, I *should* be sewing and I'm thinking about sewing and all the sewing I have still to do.

and why, tell me, when you have deadlines does your brain suggest new fun stuff to try, that you don't have time to sew, because YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SEWING.

    1. Hi Stephanie,

This is Julia from FaveCrats. There haven't been any other complaints about the site, so I'm tempted to think you have a security setting that is not allowing the site to load. I would suggest clearing your browser's cookies and disabling any pop-up blockers. Hope this helps!
