The weekend win.

scarf1

Annie and I headed off on a whim, for a breakfast meeting at Millrose yesterday, where I bought a pack of divine wool squares.scarf2

I took out the creamy white one and added some blues from the stash. Then I chopped them all in half (Now 2  1/2 x 5 inches)

and sewed them all together.

scarf5

I added a back piece and Bob’s your uncle – A new scarf !scarf4

(Loving myself sick right now)

  3. M and I were in the Fabric Remnant Warehouse in Sydney yesterday (I'd never been there before); he showed me a fabric tea cup. When I didn't get all excited, he was very surprised. I told him that I'd seen them on the internet and could even remember Jodie making prototypes. Later, while waiting for my fabric to be cut, I saw your patterns - then I got excited!

  13. Ha - and I seem to remember a comment you made a while back that you "never make anything practical" !!!
(Seriously, nothing could be more practical for this time of year where you live!)
Love the colours too, like a paint box, or a box of derwents!

  14. I love this, so colourful! How did you sew the squares together so there are no seams at the back?

  19. Holy LOVE! It makes me wish I lived on the underside of the world. We had to turn on our air conditioner for the first time today and I am grumpy and mad about the heat. I wish it was cold enough to make (and wear) a wool scarf. It's lovely Jodie!

  25. Is that a woolly continuous twisty mobius strip thingy? That whole business is altogether too big for my brain. *has a small lie down*

Despite the slightly terrifying mathematics it is absolutely ACES.

  26. Um, gorgeous much! Reminds of the Morgan Wills ones - seen those?

  27. I just love how you just whipped that up, it's great! I usually caress things for a bit before I just "Chop it" LOL. Now we don't see much wool in S. florida only the crafty acrylic kind. What do you recommend and where online, since I am about 29 hours away on plane from Melrose?

  30. Beautiful rainbow scarf! Do you ever have a cold enough weather there for a scarf to wear I wonder?

It seems that you are falling in and out of love - it's a very human condition. It happens to me, too.

In your previous post the portrait of your living cat grouped with the felt ones is adorable. I am sure that your cat knows who the fairest is them all! No question about it.

  31. Wow Jodie - that's gorgeous! Looks like the perfect thing to wear in our cold, wet and windy British summer.

  35. Oh my stars - too gorgeous! You know you're my not-so-secret sewing crush, don't you?! *sigh!*

I have loads of felt squares sitting in a drawer in Dash's room just waiting to be sewn into a scarf but of course, like so many other unfinished projects I've not managed to actually get around to DOING it (same old story). I'm inspired now - when I kick this flu I'm going to get my sewing mojo ON!

Thanks for the metaphorical kick up the bum :-)
