There seem to be many sore throats around at the minute - I doubt yours is the same as the one I just had (that would be a fast travelling international virus!) but I hope yours goes away soon.
After all the time and energy you have put into caring for your husband, surely he can sit on the set for a few minutes before you need to go each time. Seems only fair!! Or he could buy you a heated toilet seat!! Hope you feel better soon.
The Japanese knew what they were on about when they created the heated toilet seat.... Also - I have to go outside and expose myself to the night freezing cold windy air anytime I've drunk too much tea! Outside amenities around these here parts - squats on the grass can be quite cold on a frosty Winter's morning. So quit yer complain' woman!! Hope your throat is better soon. Maybe lemon, honey, ginger drinks would be good. Though icecream sounds better - I was eyeing off an icecream sandwich just yesterday. xxx
Yikes, anything involving both ends at once is generally not good. I hate the whole frostbitten bum thing. A warm bed and a good book with some herbal tea would be my next stop.
Oh Jodie - I wish I hadn't spent the last 10 minutes searching the web for toilet seat warmers! Frankly I am disturbed! I'm sure you could knock something up yourself if you really put your mind to it ;)
I would have thought, after all you did for your one armed hubby, that the least he could do wqs sit on the toilet seat to warm it up for you. Sore throats suck. Fell better soon.
Hope you feel better soon. I love the underfloor heating in our bathroom, even though I told the builder I would never use it, I would never be without it now, it's so toasty in the middle of the night
My husband moves the bath mat around the bathroom so his feet are never touching the tiles, precious soldier that he is!! I often think seat warmers feel like someone else just used the toilet but wow, sensational!! Best wishes for the throat, tea & wee, love Posie
I know boiling an onion and then drinking the water is supposed to be good for throats which sounds disgusting but maybe if you made it more like a watery soup it wouldn't be so bad. Anyway, you've reminded me that I made one of your teapots and I'm like a dog with two tails - it is tails isn't it?:) - I must go and put it on the Flikr page. Haven't made a cup and saucer yet but I like the idea of attaching the handles with buttons. Get Well Soon - Bon Courage. x
Tonsilitis perhaps? panadol for pain. If infective pustules in back of throat - can cause diarrhoea at the back end- may need antibiotics??? Get Gp to check out throat. If diarrhoea due to gastro then take poo sample to GP as well.Yeh I know yuck put it in closed container, will save you the second trip in. Hope all is well soon.
Just the other day a friend and I were asking the question...why is the toilet always cold!...so feeling your pain...not only the cold loo...had the lurgy for over a week now...hope yours has packed up and left and you are feeling much better...and the frostbite has cleared up too!
I comment for you, on top of my little heater, in my little sewing room, with two scarves around my throat, a yukky hot cup of lemon and panadol in full sympathy mode...Your fabric tea cups cheered me up! they are fabulous!
While living in Japan during the Winter we belatedly discovered fuzzy toilet seat covers. I believe they have heated toilet seats too! I could tell you a story about "how cold is it?" but we'll keep this a nice comment. Hope your pretty tea cups help you feel better soon.
a heated toilet seat sounds just the right thing for you...lol....hope that helps

ReplyDeleteI can so relate - although it's like inflated balloons in my sinuses and multiple sneezing (at my age - not pretty) that is doing me in!

ReplyDelete(The little old lady who owned our house before us had underfloor heating installed in the bathroom. I think she was a genius....)

ReplyDeleteYes you need a heated loo seat...also honey and warm whiskey.
Maybe also big woollen knickers... just saying!
I realised that after I left you this morning that you were very rugged up.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it suck that colds happen when you get a day off!!
Thankyou for coming to visit on the weekend and take care of yourself.
