Jodie, Reuben is absolutely adorable, love his name and love his clothing. Please tell us he is going to be a pattern, I would love to stitch him.

Dear Rueben
Your new jacket and satchel are quite fabulous. I really would like a grown-up sized jacket just like yours.
I wonder what treasures are inside your bag. No doubt, very intellectual material and of course your lunch.
Cheers
Jenny

Waaaaaaaannnttt.

Shame I can't sew.

You are seriously clever!

I used to have a satchel just like that one!!! Perhaps I am, in reality, a stuffed donkey. I feel a bit like one today.

I love sewing little clothes, which is possibly why they're such a big part of my plushies. :) The best part is figuring out how to make the clothes functional (so the plush can be dressed and undressed) and as close to "real" clothes as possible.

Rueben looks really dashing!

Oh Rueben. What a natty ensemble. I can't wait to hear of your adventures.

CurlyPops said...

I have no idea how on earth you manage to sew something that's so teeny tiny! Not only that, but the sewing is immaculate. Take a bow Ms Ric Rac!

You are a gem

You blow my away! He is amazing....LOVE that tiny satchel bag!

Tanya said...

pity. There would definitely be a market for grown up jackets like that one.
That looks like what I would call a 'patient project'- any tips?

Oh..I love you doing it too!

That's because it's all about the giggle (hee haw). Where the heck did you source those clip whatsits? From the Borrowers?

I'm the opposite. Love a bit of full sized garment construction, but the thought of the itty bitty stuff makes me itch.

Wendy said...

I covet that satchel! Please can you bend the rules and make a Lucy-sized one just for me??!

Hey Reuben! You are a cutie. And you should tell your mum all that fiddly mini-clothing detail would irritate me beyond belief. Give me human sized clothes to sew any day.

Hola, Rueben! Love his satchel and the wee pockets. Another squealable member of your pack...just irresistable!

Of course he's bilingual. He speaks Donkey, as well as Too Cute, a language spoken by all Jodie's Softies and understood universally.

Judy Ross said...

Dear Rueben, could you please tell Jodie that she needs to quit her pesky day job so that she can spend all her time creating more friends for you, (and maybe some pants? with a hole in the back for your tail?) and and and......

(Doesn't matter to her devoted readers whether or not she can pay her bills - just wanna see more characters like you with the morning coffee!!)

I'm going to sound like a 2 year old. I WANT ONE! ;) He's so cute! Reminds me of a nicer version of the nasty boy that got turned into a donkey on the island where Pinocchio ended up. (Vague memories!)

My BIL's name is Rueben, I call him Ruby. He is not nearly as cute as your donkey, nor does he have as much fashion sense.

He's soooo great!

Perfect for such a handsome guy.
Enjoy your itty bitty sewing.

Blimey Jodie, your stitching stands up to the very closest of scrutiny! What amazingly beautiful sewing and Reuben is quite the most handsome donkey I have ever seen :o)

tialys said...

Want this jacket! How hard is it to mug a donkey? He is so on trend in his chartreuse and rust (well, in Etsy world anyway) - in fact all he needs is a moustache and he'd be on the front page every day lol!

suna said...

so cute!

Stitchbird said...

Is it wrong to have the hots for a donkey? Now I have typed it - it seems very wrong - I think it usually involves criminal charges! Love him you have done it again.
