Extreme sports may not be the first thing that pop into your mind when you think of me. But I have come to realise that I am an adrenaline junkie.

You all know there is nothing ...nothing at all like that rush of a new idea. Nothing like the slight frenzy of wondering whether it's really possible. Even the bajillion attempts at getting something right don't usually dampen my ardour.
The figuring out bit, the problem solving is the bit I love the most.
Once I have figured it out?....meh.... I can walk away.
Of course the between ideas times are the worst, I could re-visit half-finished projects. I could even work on some just started projects, I could write instructions for Milligan, I could even draw up the pattern for my new favourite toy. I could take up yoga, clean the house, write letters to the newspaper or start a political party.

But I won't. I'll just sit here with my embroidery A-Z in my lap, practicing stitches that I could never repeat without the book open in front of me. I'll stitch and stitch and practice and be a veritable model of Austin-esque patience.

Long Range Forecast : Scattered tetchiness, with chance of exploding heads.

Start a sampler so you have something to show for all those stitches!
Message heard and understood. Umbrellas being unfurled as I type. Standing by for 'maelstrom' ;-)
And Locket? HA!
I have no doubt it will be a huge explosion ! Can't wait !
sister those mushrooms are a CUTE!!!
Hmmmm. Any chance Mr Darcy might stroll along? It'd be well worth an exploding head or two if so.
I read somewhere you have a fairy floss machine (I am not actually stalking you). If your head explodes can I have it? Or I might come visit one day you can stitch and I'll just eat fairy floss til I explode.
I love those bright toadstools. Visions of Alice in Wonderland with an amazing, almost human caterpillar sitting on a mushroom pontificating.
Hope the explosions don't happen.
Very nice Jane.
Just an after thought. Watching your head explode would be awesome. I'm picturing miniature critters, bugs, turtles and goodness know what else splatting everywhere. Ok nuff from me. night night.
No matter what, you'll have to incorporate those toadstools into some crafty goodness. :)
Such discipline Miss Jodie! So impressive. Lovely toadstools
Oh impressive as always!! So it's adrenaline that drives away procrastination?? Where do i get some - can you embroidery me up some pills?? Love Posie
love those toadstools! I wonder if the "ideas quota" is a bit like broadband, when it runs slow after you exceed your limit... hopefully not long until it refreshes again!
Oh that is SOOOO me!! The figuring out part is the funnest thing. When I tell people I'm an artist they ask what my medium is...AH, EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING! Whatever it takes to learn something new. Although I am getting better at revisiting projects begun and abandoned. Love your little mushies....can't wait to see where this leads...
I love the mushrooms.maybe with some little gnomes?
I love your mushrooms ... deliciously red and 'nasty' looking. I must try some myself.
Even when your practicing, you still create such things of supreme beauty!
Ohhh, do you have a webcam because I think if your head exploded it would make great youtube viewing! I'm coming up for the market tomorrow at Daylesford, let me know if your going.
ps. Those mushrooms are so cute!
Ok the head exploding thing sounds a bit violent.
I think you should start a political party. You in charge of the Big Ideas. Awesome. In every sense of the word.
Meantime could you tell me you've invented a cure for that Insane Grumpy thing? I've got it bad this week.
Cheers,
AJ
Eeek! Those little mushrooms are adorable. I can't wait for the exploding head -- can you make all or ours explode? I'm betting you can!!!
Ok, those mushrooms are the cutest ever! xo
Hi! What book are you using for your techniques?
Your work is gorgeous!
Hope the exploding head gore doesn't make a nasty mess on the pretty stitching!
Hahahahaha - great minds and all that! I have just recently dug my embroidery stitch book out and have been busy bookmarking pages of stitches to try. At least you have tried the stitches - I'm just looking! If you find it tricky to follow the diagram then check out You Tube - there will be lots of videos on there to follow :) That's what I will end up doing I think.
:) I don't think I've ever seen a linen doodle pad before!
What is that stitch with the green thread that is like tiny crochet??? It loooks mighty advanced!!
Exploding heads are never really nice Jodie - so messy!! Perhaps you need a new form of relaxation. Personally, I find a glass or more of bubbly strangely inspiring [giggle].
There you have the artist....no matter what you just can't stop yourself even if you had too!
The head is clicking away and the fingers are itching.....
Ohhhh - I've been on an embroidery kick (explosion) too. I like those loopy buttonhole thingees.
Far out! Explode away my dear. Beautiful brain matter everywhere ;) xox
Again??
Oooooh we have been warned!! ;-)
No ideas!!
I don't think so...
You know when there is a storm coming how the nature and every living creature gets quite and there is ominous and awkward silence ... well I believe that's the thing here. A storm of ideas is surely coming onwards and I'll brace myself for the avalanche of lovely new things from you!
Those mushrooms are really good, I'm no expert but they look great to me and I'm sure the explosion will be spectacular.lol
Mushrooms cure all. And those mushrooms are particularly potent...and, may I also mention, a-dorable.
Well so long as the exploding heads aren't yours...!
Love that groovy embroidery. I sat and practised an arrowhead stitch just cos it was so gorgeous. I couldn't do that without the book open in front of me either!!
I'm sorry, you lost me at the toadstools - they're gorgeous!
xxx
oh the toadstools - adorable!
Corrie:)
