  10. This is better than TV...where is he going? what will happen next? who will he meet on the road? The suspense is killing me!

  11. Ernst is gorgeous! He reminds me of the time I had to turn 2 kids into turtles, similar vests interlined with sheet foam for body along with leggings, skivvy and balaclava.

  19. I think he's about to get on a ferry and cross the Bass Strait to where the weather's a wee bit cooler, just right for a turtle and his shell :-)

  25. Do you have more fun makiking the softies--which are really works of art--or taking pictures of the softies? Which comes into your head first?

Thanks you so much for the Goodies and Baddies pattern! I've got pieces cut(red pleather for the capes!) and ready to go for 3 each of the goods and bads! They will be pulled out for some fun on the plane trip from Denver to Orlando with my family! 5 kids and 8 adults! I might have to make one for everybody!

I really enjoyed thaw and will look for it again next time!!

  26. I hope Ernst will be ok, he doesn't have much in his sack. Please let us know soon that he reached his destination!

    ReplyDelete
  27. This looks like a runaway! oh, NO! Nothing good can come of this....

    ReplyDelete
  28. When I was little I had a turtle called Tilly who ran away. Well, she didn't exactly run, but she did get the hell out of the tank. Straight into the dam. I always wondered if she was still in there years later, huge, happy & free. Turtles = water. I think the Big E is going to be just fine xo

  29. Oh, the letter was a cry for help from a dear old friend, Ernst is on his was to lend assistance! Definitely the dearest little turtle I've ever seen (I hope there's a pattern in the works)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Though you are leaving, Ernst, I imagine it's slow going.

Best of luck to you in your travels.

  31. he is adorable Jodie, I am a bit sad he is leaving home though, maybe he is just going camping???? yes that's it!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ernst does Woody Guthrie! Having been turned down by Magda he is setting out to seek his fortune singing... I ain't got no home, I'm just a-rambling round, just a wanderin' Turtle I roam from town to town...

Either that or he's going to play chess with Death just to prove to Bergman that he can.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Keep walking Ernst, Take a left onto the Hamiltion hwy and head towards the coast.....I'll pick you up!!!! xx

    ReplyDelete
  34. He looks so forlorn and lonely! Safe journey, Ernst!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Leaving home so soon, is it the heat?? Just a question - do your neighbours know what you do when you set up, follow & photograph softies in the garden & walking down the street?? Mine would all be too polite to ask. Love Posie

  36. I'll keep my eye out for him on the path, and offer refreshments should I see the weary traveler.

    ReplyDelete
  37. can't anything be done to help the poor chap?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh no! This is sad... poor little Ernst going off all alone in the world. I hope he's going to meet a friend.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Was he heading for the water on this stinking hot day with his budgie smugglers in his back pack? Perhaps not, I suspect that he isn't a turtle for water action

    ReplyDelete
  46. Oh no...Ernst doesn't know how much he'll be missed! I let my son do this one day when we was really really mad...I stood at the end of the driveway watching to see how far he'd go and to make sure he was ok. He turned around and came home--warm bed, food, and eventually he realized LOVE.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Oh Ernst, you do break my heart!
I hope everything will be fine with him, and that his journey will be a nice one.

    ReplyDelete
  48. LOL - if I were photographing Ernst (or anything else on the ground) our cat would be in every photo. He stands up so well, and I do wonder what is in his sack? Of course, like everyone else, I do wonder where he is going, and trust this story will have a happy ending.

  49. What a little Darling. It's a big world.Hope he finds his way okay ;)

  56. Go Ernst. Adventure awaits. (since he is walking down the road, I have to believe Ernst is a tortois, not a turtle.) I hope he writes a book. "It all began the day I received the letter..."

    ReplyDelete

  67. Joooooooodiieeeeee....

Jodie Jodie Jodie Jodie Jodie Jodie Jodie Jodie Jodie!

Jodie I have a small confession. I think I'm in love with Ernst.

I'll break the bad news to Jon later but I'm sure he'll understand. He'd want me to be happy, and Ernst makes me happy.

So Jodie, is there any way we could organise a trade for an Ernst? I have a younger brother who is quite good at menial labour (I'm thinking - cleaning the oven, hanging out washing, picking up cat poo, etc). Or I suppose I could swap you something crafty instead if you'd prefer!
