Oh, poor Ernst! Was it a Dear John letter? The emotion he gives out....he is just too cute! Didn't think much could beat Parsley and Beet, Ernst may have done it. PS How do you get them to behave so well with the camera? Mine is too cheeky!
Another rejection letter from his publisher? One too many bills? A rude note from a former turtle lover? A summons? Whatever it is, I hope Ernst knows I'm thinking of him and sending lots of love x
Good God, could you possibly be more clever?? Was starting to miss you. This is very sweet. Personally we have snails who eat our mail, sunny or wet, our mail gets eaten, thus a PO box instead!! Love Posie
Poor Ernst, he's obviously a very tender hearted turtle. How do you keep coming up with all these gorgeous softies?? If you are running out of room at your place, I'm sure many of us would be more than happy to give your robots, heffalumps, Grocer, Ernst and any other softies a good home. Hugs, Kelly :-)
This is turning out to be the best school holiday! It must be working in that beautifully tidy craft room that does it. Ernst is like totally awesome dude......ahem, just been watching Finding Nemo with the sprogs!
He is so sweet- i love how his shell looks like a little jacket! I love his little mail box- perfect for recieving little gocco postcards from. Gawd- i need more time to get my ideas out of my head... you are flying at the moment I love it!!x
The cuteness quotient of this post is sky-high. It may may have reached the outer atmosphere. In fact, I think it's making me feel light-headed. The air is so thin up here.
Ernst, you are divine. You make me squeal with happiness. Your creator is my hero.
He is adorable - Seriously you need to get this toy making as a bigger business there would be huge demand for your softies they are amazing and very unlike anything out there already. They have a naturalness and charm about them... you're a very clever lady indeed.
Have you not considered apporoaching a publisher (I'm thinking either pattern book or photo story book a la Parsley and Beet/The Robots at the bus stop)
What?! Magda has turned him down? Or is it that Bergman's latest film, The Infinite Sadness of Being a Turtle has had to be cancelled at the local cinema?
Alas, woe! And thrice woe!... with a side salad of woe!
Oh Madga! How could you? I bet she dumped Ernst for Gordon. Just cos he's cool and trendy.
Another amazing story with one of your delightful designs Jodie. Ernst does seem to show emotion and I love his little letterbox too. I hope it isnt anything too bad that cant be fixed - I am sure there is another softie at your house who can help solve the dilemma! You are certainly destined for much bigger things with your softies Jodie, like stories I think.
Can I say - I feel like I am watching you just after chrysalis or something. I mean when you raise kids you see it all the time - they reach these milestones where all of a sudden they learn something that just blows their minds and a whole new world is possible everyday. Amy learning to really swim (like a seal) - graceful and easy and fast and efficient, Wil toilet training and totally getting all the steps and parts that just a week ago scared and confused him. I can't articulate what it is with you, but I know it isn't often we see an adult take these flying leaps in learning, cogs clicking in, ripples in the pool sharp and fast...such a joy to watch. I hope you are enjoying it as much as we are.
Ernst is adorable. I was in love from first sight of the letterbox. The buttons, the shell, the emotion. Ernst jsut needs a cuddle an a nice cup of tea. - Sandra
Please know that at this difficult time in your life you are in my thoughts. I am sending huge virtual hugs and love and am willing to do anything I can to help you - just let me know.
Hmmmmmm...the mailing label makes me wonder what's going on. Gloves...scissors.....box cut.....? Are these hints? Whatever, I hope Ernst finds resolution.
Oh dear. My heart is breaking for Ernst... what was the news in his letter that has him so upset? Or is he just sad that he dropped his letter??
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute Jodie!! I am in love all over again. :)
Awww - I thought he was using his letter as a tissue!
ReplyDeleteOh poor Ernst.
ReplyDeleteMr Six saw the post and said cool cactus Mum, I said its not a cactus.....oh yeah cool turtle.....

Oh no an infringment letter - enough to bring a tear to anyone's eye. But really Ernst shouldn't have been travelling at 1km/hr in that school zone.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he'll manage to get his case reviewed though ... he's incredibly appealing.
(He's gorgeous - one of your best yet!)
Gosh, Jodie, your place must be so overrun with softies by now it's a wonder there's any space left for the humans! And yes, Ernst is seriously cute.
