Extremely late 30's

I bought a new present for the sewing room today.

It means I will be able to sew later than 6pm.

It means my hand sewing should improve

It means I won't confuse blue and green

it means I won't have to go outside for accurate colour matching.....

It means I am getting old.

Oh happy day & happy bright light night too.

It does mean you're getting sensible, now get a BLUE globe and like magic, it's daylight!! Definitely no mix up with colours at night.
Big hugs, lizzie

Lamps are good... very good indeed, regardless of age.

Fantastic! Having a lamp is so good for craft work at night and on a rainy day. I use mine all the time, but I just got another year older, so I really need mine...
Love the dog jacket.

You mean, it's not normal to have to go outside for colour matching? Ooops! Looks like I need a new lamp too!

And pretty please say you need that dolly coat pattern testing!?!?!? It's GORGEOUS!

And I love the dolly's hair stitching - it looks like highlights!

Been there, done that and have the glasses to read and thread a needle by! Welcome to my world. :o) I have an ott, a lamp, an overhead light, and a window. It helps.

Love the sporty new addition to doggy wardrobe!

And...what is this thing called "colour matching"? ;)

Sharon said...

"SHIT!" I probably need me one of those as well! lol

Let there be light, and there was, and craft was made... :)

Yes, but does it prevent having to use those little glasses at the end of your, excuse me, MY nose? Does one need a prescription for it or can one just pick it up at the fabric store?

By the way, just so you know, the word verification that I must type to leave my message is moths butt. Nice! I didn't know it had one.

What do you think it means when after hours of taking photos my eyes are blurring?

A new lamp?

Or glasses?

Love the little doggy coat. Your heart is so very young Jodie-the rest? Nothing a new lamp won't fix-enjoy!

I had to grin when I read your post. And I know how you feel. I might be ready for such a lamp too, because yesterday I threw a needle through the room, not being able to get the thread through that annoyingly (is that a word?) little hole. Grmph.

I'm looking forward to see what you'll be making in those new found hours of the crafting day.

Hmmmm... inspiration. I have a problem with black, navy, chocolate brown and dark green threads swapping around during late night sewing sessions. Makes for interesting topstitching detail in daylight.

I just love your blog. Catching up, still, but got alot of giggles. Love you stinky dog, he's so sweet.

*snurk* I rarely ever craft at night.. to tired...but I will occasionally knit while watching tv.. because I'm a bad knitter to begin with it dosen't matter as I only ever knit the simplest thing... my eyes are so bad to begin with that they are actually improving as I get older.. O_o

"You are old Mother Jodie,"
the young squirt said,
"And your hair has become very white;
And yet you incessantly craft on your head -
Do you think, at your age it is right?"

"Bog off squirt," Mother Jodie replied,
"Or I'll drag you round the bike sheds for kicking,
I have crafting to do and must do it inside,
But I'm not too busy to hand you a licking!"

Let there be light... and get the mice to do your sewing, it worked for the Tailor of Gloucester.

oh It's great to put a bit of light on the subject...
they have craft bulbs at the lighting shop and they turn everything into daylight...
too intense...

KathyB said...

It would be great to have a survey on the lights (are the most expensive the best)??

Welcome to MY world Jodie. Age, it happens to the BEST of us.

Mine has a magnifying glass attached to it. Sigh.

Danielle said...

Mahaha - you make me laugh (another later 30's bird)...better swap the globe though Jodie - hehe.

Liesl (Hoppo Bumpo) said...

I too was waiting for the glasses at the end. A lamp is much nicer!

A heads up ... once you reach your extremely very early forties you may also need to invest in arm extensions. I am still looking for a pair, so I can comfortably focus on my craft at arms length.

Old - smold what are you talking about.
Loving that dog coat I will not be showing my 2 they will but in orders.

I sit with my lamp right next to me to knit otherwise I feel as though I am getting old and not seeing properly. Love the little red coat for the kinder girl, is there a pattern to be made. The dog coat looks lovely and warm. I would love to make my Jack Russell Tess a doggy coat but my partner said he would rip it off and throw it out if I did. I cant wait to see some more of those adorable litle clocks. You are such a creative talented crafter.
