Soft and subtle

I have a friend who is a bit unwell at the moment. Unfortunately, she is having some major headache troubles is really disturbed by light. Of course she can't spend all her life in a darkened room, especially as she is off visiting so many doctors so I thought I'd whip up something to help her in the car.

I got some beautiful linen and a deliciously soft piece of minkee....You can see where I was headed can't you, something soft and subtle with a little bit of girliness.

All I can say is it takes some skill to make something this ugly.
(Oh man is she going to freak out her kids)

Awesome Jodie! Does she have green eyes herself? I'm sure she'll love it and get a lot of attention which can't be bad! I would love to see the looks on people's faces when they saw her!

Oh, Jodie. You're great. Seriously, seriously great. I don't actually think I know anyone else who could turn something peaceful and relaxing into something that would frighten kids :-) And that's why I love you!!

Hi i'm sure the kids will get traumatized at the sight of her, wearing the mask... :-)

BUT, it's a very god idea to give her this. I have headaches too, and it is a great help with a mask, even though mine is somewhat less smart and scary. hihi

Your project gave me my first laugh of the day. Your right, it takes a lot of skill..
But it is the thought that counts, and I'm sure that your friend will feel better when she has it on.

Hey, I'm your 10000 profile viewer which is funny because I know you anyway. The eyes are fine just a bit far apart. It's a lovely thought too.

I love your sense of humour! I'm sure you will make your friend feel better by giving her a chuckle as well as protecting her eyes... and it's just an added bonus that the kids won't be pestering her! The perfect gift!

now that's what i need. can i wear the mask to work? i feel for your friend - i've been having a "migraine attack" since last april/may and this week has been one in the dark at work. no lights except for what comes in my window.

best of luck to your friend and i'm sure your goodies will make her feel comforted. i always curl up with a blanket at home.

I can't see the last photo, but the first one with the pink fabric? Yeah well I read "sick friend" saw the photo and thought she had a hideous skin disease with pink warts all over her hand. Luckily I looked again.

When she's over her illness she can wear it backwards and REALLY freak her kids out. There's nowhere to hide when your mum has eyes in the back of her head.

Calidore said...

Ohh my goodness. I want to be a fly on the wall when your friend wears this while travelling. Can you imagine the looks on other drivers faces when they see it - not to mention her kids. Now I have to ask.....do you sleep?????

Hey Jodi. What a fantastic gift - sure to bring a smile to your friends face! I had serious headache/migraine issues which took over 8 months to get to the bottom of. Happy to share my discoveries and experience with your friend if desired as I know its an awful place to be.
