10 minute craft - not quite tutorial

Spend less than one minute grabbing some of the tape measure stash .

Take 2 minutes to find the snap thingo's and waste five minutes looking for the hammer.

(Ignore the snap instructions -it saves time).

Take a minute to wrap a tape measure around your wrist and chop it off at the right length.
With a minute to go, hammer some snaps into your tape measures and you're done.

It'll take you far far longer to decide between subtle vintage glamour,

or 80's Madonna style than it did to actually make them.

Or... as a foundation member of the one-step-too-far club, I suggest making a whole garland of them.

'Tis the season after all.

Where do you get your tape measures from - I can only find nasty cream coloured ones in the UK!

Cute! I personally dig the Madonna style.

I can't believe you actually have a tape measure stash! I can never find the one and only that I have... and I've never seen them in funky colours either.
Cool wristband - you never know when you may need to measure something while you're out and about.

oh I am loving the idea of the 'step too far' garland.. I am imaging a 'sewing themed' christmas decked out tree.. how freakin' cool would that be?? and how much fun would the bastard cat have with spools and crap hanging...

best go his lordship is calling me (i think it wants feeding again? darn cat is bullumic at the moment, pigs out and keeps having out of body experiences.. lovely)

A tape measure stash, huh? I had to pop out to Spotlight today because I couldn't find my trusty tape measure. Could it be that tape measures migrate north when lost? I don't suppose you have a stash of odd socks too do you??

Love the garland. There is no such thing as one-step-too-far ... just raising-the-bar!

I love this!! And I have lots of tape measures, somewhere .......

Hmm, but how would you measure the length of the garland?!!

Love the bracelet tho'... and the 'ignore the instructions - it saves time.'!!! Not if I did it, it wouldn't! And there would be rather a lot of naughty words, 'hem, 'hem!

I can' believe you have a stash either. I always have to wrestle mine from the kids. The like to play Peter Pan while I sew and they tie me to the chair with the tape measure.

Wow. What a great idea! I do have a few around, but you sure could make a few bracelets even with just one tape measure...

*LOL* brilliant.. especially the garland.. alas I have no tape measure stash or snaps for that matter either.. but still very cool..I would give you one of the cupcakes on my blog.. if they weren't all gone.. even the cross one.

I should be crafting now but as H is a poorly little boy I must do my motherly duty.

You must have a good stash if you can cut them all up willy-nilly like that. Seeing it made me all anxious, like but what if Jodie needs to measure something bigger than a wrist?, so you can probably tell I only have one tape measure at my house.

They look great.

very cute. why don't I think of these things. :o)

Jodie - You are amazing! What a great idea! I think I know where my hammer is, so that will save me about 5 minutes from your alloted time. But I only have one tape measure, so I'll have to go shopping first. The only tape measures I've seen around here (New York) are the "school-bus yellow" ones, which would be fine, but I like those multi-colored ones.
You are just too cool!

WOW! great idea but they are making me think about our visit to doctors without borders refugee camp - they ues a specialised tape measure to determine weather a chld/infant is malnourished.
Not too much chance of that here though.
