What do you give Miss 20 for her birthday ?
A choice of course !
(screen printed onto fabric and then made into pillowcase. The whole negative /positive thing nearly did my head in. I made the stencils by borrowing an image and then editing and 'posterising' it in Picnik. I'm sure if you spoke photo shop this would be as easy as winking)
yep, totally loving myself sick.
I bet Miss 20 is loving you too, Jod! How cool are those pillowcases!
ReplyDeleteWow Jodie. They look great. Miss 20 would be so thrilled. A new hobby.
ReplyDeleteYou're loving yourself sick , I'm loving you and that might just be sicker ! Jodie that is just brilliant , I really love these . Speechless I am . Me . Yes .
ReplyDeleteOMG! That is so awesome! I wonder if I could talk Maxx into Dr who pillowcases. I bags Matt Smith! He can have David Tennant. I LOVE!!!! (Oh, and less than two weeks to go until it's back on our screens, Jodie)
ReplyDeletegood job! I would love to give it ago one day!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome Jodie. A new obsession, what fun..

ReplyDeleteHow many mothers give their twenty year olds two good looking guys for their birthday? tee-hee
Jodie I think I might have just died and went straight to Dr Heaven! Just awesome!
ReplyDeletecan I put in an order for the David Tennant one? *giggles*
ReplyDeleteLove. LOVE. I'll have a set with a dalek & K-9, thanks. ;)
ReplyDeleteYep, safely nestled between the 2 Doctors would be a fine nights sleep indeed!
ReplyDeleteLove these!
She'll love laying her head next to these cool heads!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the ric rac with the printing...it's seriously DARLING!
ReplyDeleteInsanely fabulous!! Totally outdone yourself with these gems. Totally!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!! (and I'm not even that big of a Dr fan. Don't get the wrong idea I have been know to watch The Dr, just not to the extent where I would call myself a fan).
ReplyDeleteYou really have out done yourself on this one.
What's next????
Rebecca
Well done! They look great!
ReplyDeleteThat's brilliant! Think I'd snuggle up with the David Tennant one a lot more though.... ♥
ReplyDeleteMe Likey!
ReplyDeleteAwesome work.
Very cool subject matter - David Tennant is my favourite Dr.
A spectacular finish - just the right amount of Black and White - it might have nearly done your head in, but it was worth it.
How good is Picnik? How good are you? Love love love it (them) and you!!!!!! ha!
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI love the images and the placement. My favourite bit is the rickrack but I fear if I tried to do that it would be all wobbly, like my bias binding fails :-(
Awesome! You should send a picture to the Dr. Who web site. They would get a kick out of it. ;0
ReplyDeleteThese pillows look really cool but I had no idea who the guys were until I read through these comments. I'm still not sure who the second guy is!
ReplyDeleteYou should be too....totally AWESOME!! Well done you have excelled in the screen printing, I bet she loves them :-)
ReplyDeleteOMG....Brilliant or what!...
ReplyDeleteso loving this!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh they are fab :) I think I would choose Mr Tennant every time :) You need to do some of Torchwood (i.e. Captain Jack and Ianto and send them to me stat!) Only kidding......
ReplyDeleteI love these pillow cases. Great screen prints!
ReplyDeleteAwesome pillows! We are living in Switzerland and getting BBC, I hadn't watched the Doc since i was a kid but loving the new "modern" doctors. Again super cool pilows, so hard to craft "cool".
ReplyDeleteYou are the best Mum ever!!!
ReplyDeleteCan I please have one of Colin Firth as Mr Darcy in Pride & Prejudice ?????
Awesome!! I've just been having a play and getting the right picture to posterise well is quite difficult. You did a great job!!
ReplyDeleteJODIE CAN I BE YOUR DAUGHTER??!!!
ReplyDeleteI will give you $1,000 for a Matt Smith print. If you provide it within five minutes.
Totally awesome. She'll be having sweet dreams for sure.
ReplyDeleteBest. Ever. Pillowcases!!! My prize turned up, thank you ♥ ♥ Happy Birthday to Miss 20 xxx
ReplyDeletewow.... totally awesome!
ReplyDeletehe he....I have painted my bathroom door bright BLUE...huge fan. xx
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, they are WONDERFUL!!!
ReplyDelete(I'm a fan of Doctor Who!)You did a brillian work!
WHAT THE HELL TOOK YOU SO LONG? It's a calling, I'm telling you.
ReplyDelete(you even managed to capture the David Tennant furrowed brow and quirk-thing).
LOVE the black ricrac! Did you make the quilt too? Lovely!
ReplyDeleteMOTHER.OF.THE.YEAR.
ReplyDeleteooh get you!
ReplyDeleteRockstar in a DressingGown.
I'm loving both you and miss 20 for having such awesome taste! These are seriously brilliant. I did a DT face the hard way: paused during Hamlet's to be or not speech, took a photo, printed in black and white, played around in photo shop, made it negative, printed it big, then meticulously cut it all out to make ONE freezer paper print t-shirt. EGAD! Looks brillo, if I do say so myself, but never had the energy to make another. SIGH. THAT'S why I need to learn to screen print!!
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteLove the Doctor Whoness!
ReplyDeleteACK!!!
ReplyDeleteTOTALLY awesome pillow cases
will take a David Tennant please!!
the different things you produce is mind-boggling, you have a very lucky miss 20
Happy 20th to your DD! Love the pillowcase printing, even if I don't know who the gents are...off to Google!
ReplyDeleteYou really make it hard for the rest of us with teenage kids don't you? Those are quite possibly the coolest present in the history of the world. Hope you made them drool proof?
ReplyDeleteMy son upon witnessing my reaction to your blog post:
ReplyDeleteMama, what's wrong?
Me: DR. WHO!
Jaxon: Oh.
Pretty sad when your 5 year old child finds your obsessions ridiculous!
AMAZING.
Dr who???? I am seriously not a Dr Who fan. The curly haired dude used to scare me (the 80's Dr Who!) - just don't understand the show really!! Great pillow cases though!!
ReplyDeleteVery special. You never cease to amaze.
ReplyDeleteLove your work. I'm going to have to keep my eyes peeled for a little kit I think.
ReplyDeleteWait ... What?? You have a 20 year old!! No way!
ReplyDeleteGreat work on the pillowcases - they look awesome.
OMG, 'Who' would of thought to do this? Oh yup, Jodie of course. Love your work, lucky 20 yo.
ReplyDeleteHahaha -- I had a different comment -- but then I saw Bell's comment and she's right. What??? a 20 year old??? Definitley No Way LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteLove those pillowcases -- especially where you left room for Miss 20 to lay her head down next to them.
what I wouldnt have given for a Michael jackson one of those 30 *gulp* years ago -when he was cool, and still black. RIP MJ.

ReplyDeleteI know a certain Who-loving Miss 12 that would love those well.
My Miss 16 LOVES!!! the pillowcases. Is there any chance of printing 2 more and I'll buy them from you?
ReplyDeleteAnd some ric-rac... Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYour not just a pretty face. I bet she loves them.
ReplyDeleteJodie, they are gorgeous! I am so impressed with this! What a fabulous gift.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Love the quilt they are sitting on as well.
ReplyDeleteJod, these are the COOLEST! Just waiting for my Miss to spot them and put in an order. She is a serious Dr Who fan! Alas, my answer will be, "Sorry kiddo, don't do screen printing". Closely followed by, "But Mum, just ask that legend super-clever Ric Rac friend of yours to teach you ..." and so it will go on!
ReplyDeleteIs she waiting for the T.A.R.D.I.S to appear in her room?
ReplyDeleteACK!! I'm loving you sick too!! These are terrific! Who wouldn't love snuggling up to the Doctor each and every night? These are awesome, pat yourself on the back!
ReplyDeletelucky Miss 20! you are the awesomest mother eva!
ReplyDeleteit looks like a few of these girls want you to be their mum.
I'd take that $1000 off Jennie too, go on :)

Heaven! and thanks for the picnick tips, I'll try it out!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing Jodie!
ReplyDeleteThese are amazing!!! I have a friend that is THE biggest David Tennant fan, she even makes crazy-funny fan-girl cartoons starring her and her favourite Dr. Would you consider selling a pillow case? Or even just a screen print on a scrap of fabric I could sew to a pillow case myself? She would just die if she got this as a present. Let me know, I am very very interested :) Hugs, Gabrielle
ReplyDeleteso utterly awesome!
ReplyDeleteIndeed. I would love to buy a print for my daughter too! Please let us know if you are able to sell any! Thanks Ros
ReplyDeleteNew career idea perhaps?? No, REALLY, are you willing to make & sell these? I've got a 17 year old who would drool on both these men all night!! Pleeeeeeez ;O)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! They would make a great gift for me too!
ReplyDeleteYou did with a stencil? You're a genius!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! I absolutely adore these pillows!!! My two favourite Doctors. Just want to snuggle right up to those pillows. Love Tara
ReplyDeleteI think my Miss 25 just had a stroke. I need to do this for her so her (Tardis) bedroom would be complete. Even her Bedroom door is the Tardis front.
ReplyDeleteHeck, this Miss 47 wants a pair, although I'm more for Nine and Ten. The Doctors rock!
ReplyDeleteJust saw these on FB. Totally love them!!!
