Clever girls......lets go for a rabble or a throng......or how about a RIC RAC of robots...... now that rolls of the tongue or alternatively a RIF RAF of robots......its late.....I could go on but I won't.
Since you will undoubtedly need to follow the noun with "of robots", you could pretty much use anything. Especially if they are specific robots that mimic something else that already has a collective noun. As long as it's not a creepy word. A "hive" of robots would probably give me nightmares! "Clutch" would be great for your robots as that is also the verb they would inspire!
Oooh! I like the whirr, byte and click suggestions - but I have to confess that when I saw the "throng" suggestion it immediately made me think of "thong" and therefore your uncomfy undies in the previous post!
Sorry I can't possibly top any of the ideas already suggested but I love your robots anyway , all of them , the whole lot ! whole lot of bots , sorry , big day .
botjunkie.com decided it was an 'assemblage' of robots, but that is just the editors pick from those submitted. I personally prefer the runner-up - a 'clank' of robots... but then a 'ric rac' of robots works mighty well...
A gigabyte of robots? An oil slick? A cosmos? A wingnut? A ninety-degree-angle? A hob nob? Goodness me Jod, I don't know but it sure is fun to guess! And I'm not the only one - 54 comments so far sweetie - LOL! I'm sure one of us might have it right!
Holy cow they are an army! I have to tell you that I've been afraid of Robots since I was 3 or 4. The movie "The Day the Earth Stood Still" came on TV and I watched it terrified. I can still get a little frightened from robots. But yours are so lovely. They amuse.
So many suggestions...my favourite would be a "Whirring of Robots", then again a gear of robots, a cog of robots, a clique of robots, a rattle of robots....oh stop me please!
is it a bot-tom? a bit cheeky that one, oops there goes another pun ... do you still like selvedge edge? i was wondering if you would like some nice possibly british selvedge and you can send me something in return ... drooling over your bots .... cat xxx ooh word verification is obtrypot - is that the collective term ?
Hmmm is it robotics! Very very cute and I see they have their climbing skills working, lol!
ReplyDeleteI can't be certain but I think I remember learning it as a 'Beep of robots.'
ReplyDeleteBut it might have been a 'Whirr'.
ReplyDeleteWoah! Whata lotta robI on that there washin' line!
ReplyDeleteI would say a click (clique)of robots... gedditt??
ReplyDeleteI cracks myself up.

ReplyDeleteNot that your little guys look like they're going to blow any circuits. Except mine, of course. They are exterminating me with their cuteness!
Great suggestions in the comments but I just call the collection SUPER CUTE!!!
ReplyDeleteGiven what they have hanging around their necks they could be a Scrabble of robots!
ReplyDeleteAlthough I do like the suggestion that they are a click / clique!
Very, very cute - wish I could get to Daylesford to see them for myself.
They are adorably cute!
ReplyDeleteA collective, that's what the borg call themselves, so I figure a group of robots would be a collective too.
ReplyDeleteWhat about a toolbox of robots?

Or a ....
That's it ... I'm out!!
A Robotious?
ReplyDeleteRobust? That is a tough one...

ReplyDeleteClever girls......lets go for a rabble or a throng......or how about a RIC RAC of robots...... now that rolls of the tongue or alternatively a RIF RAF of robots......its late.....I could go on but I won't.
ReplyDeleteI think it's called a "combobulation of robots". And this group is a fantastic example of the species! - Deb
ReplyDeleteA clank? Love them, I want one. Didn't know about Mr R-R but glad things have turned around.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to go shopping at your stall. Oh, I tell you, I can't wait.

ReplyDeleteThe end to the bus story was great. Snogging is overrated I find.
Bot Junkie had a competition to decide on a collective noun for robots this summer! The winner was Assemblage.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.botjunkie.com/2009/07/28/this-is-what-you-call-a-group-of-robots/#more-2031
Whatever you call them, they're fantastic.
Since you will undoubtedly need to follow the noun with "of robots", you could pretty much use anything. ReplyDeleteThat is a fine looking group of, I'd say, a Circuit of Robots. My favorite group name is "murder of crows".
ReplyDeleteA charge of robots, cos they don't work until the charge of electricity courses through their circuits!
ReplyDeleteA Cog sounds good, tho' I suspect in the electronic age it's a bit old fashioned.
A troop... a Tromp of robots from the sound of a lot of them in step.
But how about a Jodie of Robots? Cos you made 'em.
Perhaps a riot of robots?!?
ReplyDeleteA Raglan of Robots perhaps?
ReplyDeletebotjunkie.com decided it was an 'assemblage' of robots, but that is just the editors pick from those submitted. I personally prefer the runner-up - a 'clank' of robots... but then a 'ric rac' of robots works mighty well...
ReplyDeleteHugs - Shari
