Now that my smalls are actually quite big (like 18 and 14), I have to say a lot of the "magic" of Christmas is gone.
I find myself concentrating more and more on all the effort it requires and I must admit to being a bit Bah-Humbug about it all at the moment. (mind you that could be because every bloody shop in town has been spruiking Christmas since September).
But yesterday I found, bought and printed this from everybodies favourite Aunty and now I am determined to buy some presents just so I can wrap them.....
(once again its all about the packaging for me)
That gift wrap is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThe best part of Christmas in the (un)wrapping of presents. I always like to find ways of making things unrecognizable but it's not always easy. This paper is great for the teenagers in any family. Thankfully mini-me is still young enough to feel the joys of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteNow Jodie 'get back to work'!!!
Go on Jodie... you secretly love it!! You are just under stress at the moment... eat chocolate [too early for stiff drinks] and you'll be fine. Rainbow smiles.. Gloria
ReplyDeletePS know anything about round robins?
My family's starting to get a bit scroogey towards Xmas too now that my brother and I are getting too old for big shiny toys. But I have to agree that that wrapping paper is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I'm always on the look out for different wrapping... :) Once again... you've helped me to spend my husbands hard earned money! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, that packaging is fantastic Jodie! Love it. We are doing Christmas Day here, with my family, for the first time! But, there will only be 9 of us so I'm not feeling too stressed - yet!! If it were Hubs family there'd be 20! Eeeks! See you Wednesday?
ReplyDeleteOh, it's so funny that you're feeling bah-humbuggy - I was feeling the same way too last year - and my smalls were also 18 and 14. This year, my holiday spirit is back and I have warned all members that the house will soon "... look like Christmas threw up on it." :D I picked out a lovely balsam fir tonight and some mulberry branches to make wreaths... :)
ReplyDeleteYour spirit will come back to you, I think - even without totally adorable wrapping paper. :)
That wrapping paper is gorgeous. I think the early spruiking of Christmas spoils it a little. It adds to the stress and takes from the specialness. After all the lead-up, it seems unfair that it is all over by Boxing Day.
ReplyDeleteLove the paper , makes it all worthwhile .
ReplyDeleteI am also a "packaging" person so I can totally adore this! Happy Thursday from Tokyo, where Christmas songs jingles in your head from 1st November!!!
ReplyDeleteYour first line had me reading it over a couple of times ....
ReplyDeleteYour 'smalls'? Thought that was a euphamism for undies.
'14 and 18'? Thought you were talking about sizes.
But now that I know what you're talking about, I might have to purchase some of that wrapping too.
Do you print it on A4 paper and just stick them all together?
Andi :-)
that is the most adorable paper i have ever seen, Forget about prezzies, just wrap up boxes and seal them forever....
ReplyDeleteI thought you were talking gruds too (undies = grundies = gruds)... the pressie wrap is cute and I am with you with chrissy not as much fun with the bogans you live have growed up...
ReplyDeleteLissapoo

haha I thought you were talking about undies as well, until I kept reading! That paper is just too cute, will have to go look at it now. No one in this house could care less about Christmas either so I am taking a break from it all!!
ReplyDeleteOh that is gorgeous wrapping paper! I'm always a little disappointed about Christmas because I still expect to feel as excited as I used to as a child and it just doesn't happen anymore. The children love it though!
ReplyDeleteLucyx
What fabulous wrapping paper, who could not get a little excited to see such wonderfully wrapped presents!
ReplyDeleteJodie, I'm in the minority, and also thought you were talking about your undies. I didn't quite get it how you had size 18 and 14 - Wel . . . der!!!! Got to love the Cookie paper - presents to fit this year, I say
ReplyDeleteI'm in the US and just can't stand the months of lead up to Christmas. My house is decorated with a few special items, but NEVER until after Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteIt is not really a Bah Humbug, but I can't see doing the whole thing since my family and I are spread all over the country. I like Christmas, but just not all the glitz anymore.
I love the paper, very unusual, but delightful.
Yvette
Fabulous paper, but I'm with you on the Bah! Humbug!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind when it's December, but as my birthday is in November I am a touch bothered by the Capitalist Dash to big up Crimbo as early as possible.
Gerroff my birthday month shops! Come back when it's December or I'll set the hamster on ye!
It's funny, I don't have little ones and I spend the holiday with friends who's little one is 30 so the holiday has never been about kids for me. Once my birthday passes, early November, I'm all about the holidays. 24/7 holiday music, making gifts and starting to wrap my gifts. It might be the only good thing about not having kids, you never associate the holidays with kids, who are the kid at the holidays. I hope the spirit attacks you soon.
ReplyDeleteI think I need to do some decorating of the house to start getting into it this year !
ReplyDeleteI do love Christmas really..
great paper.
ReplyDeletehope you find the magic somewhere.
