I've been noodling about again and this is a bit of a catch up post. I have been working on my two mini quilts for Lucy's swap. One for my swap partner and of course one for Lucy herself.

I had a go at something new to me for these quilts and I am busting to show you, but don't panic I can see it taking over for a while so you will have plenty of time to get sick of it after the swap is done.

In this morning's Age magazine , there is great article and gorgeous Pip from Meet Me at Mikes is featured. I waved while I had brekky Pip. That reminds me to mention the fantastic project Pip is heading up again this year. Softies for Mirabel.

Please go and check it out. Maybe you could find time to make a softie for a special kid for this Christmas? I'm in and so is Connor-he had great fun designing his own softie last year.

Hi guys.

Thanks this week to One red Robin for her theme. This is my favourite accessory.

I am not much of a jewellery wearer but lately I find myself drawn to pins and badges and brooches.

The red bird I bought last year at Magnolia square from Maru. The beautiful mirrored silhouette which was so hard to get a photo of, was a gift from the Art teacher at school and also from Maru I believe. The owl is of course from our friend at Lino Forest and the little illustration pin I bought from Lilymoon on Etsy.


Today's accessory , and it is really Miss Jem's, is this beautiful flower she was given by a friend.

This flower is just killing me - that squidink purple and the mottled bits. It makes me think of alien spaceships and sea anemones.

ooops, I have just been trotting around blogland and then I read lara's comment - I was supposed to take a photo of myself in the mirror.

Well it is 9.40 sunday night , I am very comfy in my not-for-public-consumption dressing gown and staring down a massive week of work, 3 orthodontic appointments -4 meetings and a whole library (14,000 books alone) to pack in 5 days.

Maybe I should take a photo of whats left of me at the end of the week !

This is ...what makes me laugh

I have been having a good think about what makes me laugh.

Naughtiness make me laugh.

I laugh at rude T-shirt slogans, witty graffiti and people going the wrong way on escalators.

I giggle when kids call each other a "stupid bum poo head" or an "underpants face".

I love irreverence and am always giggling at people taking- the- piss.

I tried to write this post a few times but there is simply no way I can justify the amount of stuff in my life.

These are some of my collection:

1. Random old stuff

2. knitting needles- love the colours

3. bakelite cake stand (I have two) and sewing mannequins

4. The kitchen collection of wheeled things

5. Coathangers - love the old ones!

6. Mannequin

7. Old suitcases and hat boxes with old quilts

8. Shopping jeeps - there are 4 unrenovated ones tucked behind the bedroom door.

9. Old sewing ntions

10. another kitchen wheelie

11. Selvedge - a slow collection to build.

12. Buttons - obviously

13. Sewing stuff, tins, french buttons - a bit of everything

14. Old wire mannequin - I think she was "bra-form" girl.

15. Old or interesting clothes - 2 tubs full, at least Cecilia can wear them.

16. tape measures- I just have to buy them, it's a compulsion!

I could make a joke here about Mr Ric Rac being another random old thing I have collected but I won't.

Yesterday the ricrac clan headed off to the Union of Soul Concert here in Ballarat featuring The Waifs, Clare Bowditch and The John Butler trio.

I was the nanna down the front with the camera, doggedly not letting people squeeze pass after I had stood there all day ! Dancing my special nanna dance, ignoring the drunks and the youngsters playing tonsil hockey and having a nanna ball! It was a great concert and I went to bed exhausted, trodden on and with my ears ringing.

I joined in the fun of the "this is...." meme over at three buttons.

The first one is "this is my favourite cup"

This cup is a bit of a joke that a friend at work gave me- on the other side it reads "Proud to be a public serving, friendly, book stamping, softly spoken, helpful, well read librarian. " I think the joke was meant to be the "softly spoken" bit.

This cup can most often be found in the sewing room or around the lounge - half full of cold bitter tea, where I have wandered off and forgotten about it.

Miss Three buttons has asked me to come up with a "this is" for next Sunday so next Sunday
