How's it looking?

You OK ?
Under control?
Did you nab that last virgin goat testicle after driving to seventeen delicatessens?
Are you festively cheerful or talking through clenched teeth?

I am eating toast  and thinking about squeezing some sewing room time into my afternoon. I hope the next few days are awesome for you - in whichever ways float your holiday boat!

big loves,
jod

  1. Festively cheerful! I did my vegie shopping at 7 am to beat the rush. Now I can put my feet up and eat mince pies until I make myself ill. Merry Christmas!

  2. Merry Christmas Jodie! I am not a fan. If it wasn't for grandkiddies, there would be nothing here except the luncheon get together. And I have the Christmas lunch thing so well sorted, it doesn't look like an audition for Doomsday Preppers!!!!
I did my shopping yesterday. I did the gift thing over two days - mainly for the kiddies. We do a Kris Kringle for the adults, but I think this year might be a fail as we have deviated from the usual plan and I went and bought everyone a little something. :) Total spend, including food (which was the big bit!) has been less than $450-00. And that is for 8 adults and 4 kids. Winning, I think!
May you and yours have a wonderful time together.

  3. Just what I needed to read at 12:30am after sewing some very stubborn green wellie stockings for my gardening parents. (Who will probably think I'm nuts.). I'm exhausted, but we're almost there and it will be lovely as usual one way or another. merry Christmas and enjoy the goat

  4. We have a tradition in our house, we send each other pictures of what we would like to send to each other and add it up and then put the money into whatever charity we want in their names. This year we chose the RSPCA. a hand made ornament is sent instead to immediate family members and close friends, others get hampers. Christmas shopping is a breeze!

  6. Good Xmas eve afternoon to you Jod.
Hope you manage that sewing time.... May you have a relaxed and enjoyable day tomorrow...
As for me, it's my first single mum xmas so tomorrow afternoon I'm planning on eating a bucket load of prawns, drinking multiple bottles of top notch champagne and being naked a lot. Sounds bloody perfect to me!

  8. Getting there! I missed out on the virgin goat testicle, but I did rush out and get everything I need for fruit punch, some extra drinks, and some more milk (the shops are closed for 1 day, what ever will I do!!) and BBQ fuel. All the pressie are wrapped and under the tree, the chocolate ripple cake is done and in the fridge, snackies for tomorrow are all organised, stuffing loaf (apparently it is bad form to actually put stuffing inside the turkey!) are precooking ready to be heated tomorrow, the turkey is defrosting, pork is marinating, ham is organised, vegies can wait until tomorrow. Then this evening it is pudding time and a couple more slices, and a trifle. Phew!

  12. Can only get turkeys the size of a big chicken here in France as they prefer to eat seafood (some of which I saw trying to escape from the counter in the supermarket yesterday) but at least we won't be forced to devise ways of eating the leftovers for a week.
    Have a wonderful time.

  15. Merry Christmas to you and your family Jodi!! We're still the middle of Christmas Eve Day here... I think I'm going to have to get out the Santa Hat and clown nose to make it through the rest of the day... noone can be grouchy while wearing a clown hat... lol. But we'll make it through, somehow we always do. :)

  16. Well, its all done and dusted here. I have a ripping headache as a result of sitting in the sun without a hat at a friend's pre-Chrissy function yesterday (yep, I'm stupid, I know). Today it was all systems go early, vacuumed and washed the kitchen floor, did other final cleaning, and then made a couple of salads. The kids and grandkids arrived at 11ish, we did presents, and then lunch. We have driven a remote control car, driven toy tractors, flown a kite and played totem tennis, as well as playing with a dolls house. The grandsons rode in the real tractor with a proud Pa. As the last car drove out, I waved and walked straight inside, through the kitchen and hit the bed for half an hour. But the whole day was fun.

  17. I missed the goat testicles but did manage to get into bed before midnight last night, which was a good thing because we were awake at 6 after someone nudged their stocking with their foot and wanted to know if they were allowed to read before 7am (the usual time that he is allowed to start reading).
Hope you had an amazing Christmas and that Father Christmas was kind to you. Have a wonderful New Year and I look forward to seeing your creativity flow in 2015. HUGS
