Blog-tired

I was given a very polite hurry-up at work yesterday. It seems my lack of blogging has been noticed.
(Do you find it weird when your work life/craft life intersect?)
Not-blogging is usually for one of two big reasons.
1. Sick of the sound of my own voice.
2. More ideas than time.

Of course there are lots of other things that get in the way of blogging, but they are usually fleeting.
Yes, I am a bit sick of the sound of my own voice. I have been blogging away here since 2007 and I sometimes wonder if I haven't already said every single version of "Hey -Look what I made"  I feel a bit blog-tired I guess.

I am also full to bursting point with new things - so much so that I have a new list (you know I love a list) to help keep me on track. So many things that are at the point of final tweaking, but no time to tweak. The busyness is a good excuse to let the blogging slide a bit, to tell myself that sewing is a better use of my time than farting about on the computer.

Have a good one bloggy friends.
(I need to give myself a kick up my own backside don't I?)

  1. I felt blog-tired for a very long time. But I'm getting back on the wagon this year.

  2. Blogging should not feel like an obligation, that takes the fun out of anything. (But I have missed seeing what you have been creating. No pressure)

  3. seven years is a long time! I've been at it for six, and wonder if I'll hit seven. But I find what you do fun and captivating and good for a chuckle.

  4. Blogging has evolved for me. I've diversified -- looking at more food blogs, yarn blogs, and blogs that have crafting other than the craft I do which is quilting. I may not try the "new" crafts but I love the creativity of others. I read "insect" instead of intersect. :o)

  5. I have so little time to do much crafting but love blogs, they keep the spark alive for me! One day everyone will sleep through the night, not use my scissors to cut paper, be able to get their own snacks... Won't they??

  11. I'm with Sue. Plus from time to time you share on social media. All good.
I've noticed with a lot of the blogs I follow that many of their owners started it for one thing - and you seem to have stuck at this - but it has grown into something else.
It's your blog Jodie. Do with it what you will. It is a great forum for your craft and The Wonder Dog when he makes an appearance. :)

  12. But we like to see what you made! I've been blogging since 2009 and have many blogposts that live in my head but never have made it to blogland. You're going along much better than I at posting rates.

    I like lists too :)

  13. Of course you need a break Jod - I don't know how you find the time (or the inclination) to go to the day job. It's your blog; you do what you like. Do stuff for yourself and don't feel pressured. Take time to smell the roses. And when you do have a new pattern, or some fabulousness to show and tell, or a story to share, we'll be there.
