I was given a very polite hurry-up at work yesterday. It seems my lack of blogging has been noticed.
Not-blogging is usually for one of two big reasons.
1. Sick of the sound of my own voice.
2. More ideas than time.
Of course there are lots of other things that get in the way of blogging, but they are usually fleeting.
Yes, I am a bit sick of the sound of my own voice. I have been blogging away here since 2007 and I sometimes wonder if I haven't already said every single version of "Hey -Look what I made" I feel a bit blog-tired I guess.
I am also full to bursting point with new things - so much so that I have a new list (you know I love a list) to help keep me on track. So many things that are at the point of final tweaking, but no time to tweak. The busyness is a good excuse to let the blogging slide a bit, to tell myself that sewing is a better use of my time than farting about on the computer.
Have a good one bloggy friends.
(I need to give myself a kick up my own backside don't I?)
I felt blog-tired for a very long time. But I'm getting back on the wagon this year.
ReplyDeleteBlogging should not feel like an obligation, that takes the fun out of anything. (But I have missed seeing what you have been creating. No pressure)
ReplyDeleteseven years is a long time! I've been at it for six, and wonder if I'll hit seven. But I find what you do fun and captivating and good for a chuckle.
ReplyDeleteBlogging has evolved for me. I've diversified -- looking at more food blogs, yarn blogs, and blogs that have crafting other than the craft I do which is quilting. I may not try the "new" crafts but I love the creativity of others. I read "insect" instead of intersect. :o)
ReplyDeleteI have so little time to do much crafting but love blogs, they keep the spark alive for me! One day everyone will sleep through the night, not use my scissors to cut paper, be able to get their own snacks... Won't they??
ReplyDeletedo what you need to do Jods, thats the beauty of blogging we will still be here,so if your creative juices are flowing run with it and how much is it to see where it takes you, keep creating my clever friend,i will still be here when you come back.xx
ReplyDeletesuppose to be Jods and how much fun is it to see where it takes you.
DeleteI love Instagram
ReplyDeleteI'm so hoping that is a snail.
ReplyDeleteEven just a pic every now and again will keep us happy :)
Love to see you but I will still be here to see what lovely you have for us when the inspiration strikes!
ReplyDeleteIt's not like you are completely lacking in sharing what you are doing - tell them to follow you on Instagram and Facebook. Hello peeps, not all about blogging now social media is here!
ReplyDeleteLove what you post, when you post! No worries!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Sue. Plus from time to time you share on social media. All good.
ReplyDeleteI've noticed with a lot of the blogs I follow that many of their owners started it for one thing - and you seem to have stuck at this - but it has grown into something else.
It's your blog Jodie. Do with it what you will. It is a great forum for your craft and The Wonder Dog when he makes an appearance. :)
But we like to see what you made! I've been blogging since 2009 and have many blogposts that live in my head but never have made it to blogland. You're going along much better than I at posting rates.
ReplyDeleteI like lists too :)
Of course you need a break Jod - I don't know how you find the time (or the inclination) to go to the day job. It's your blog; you do what you like. Do stuff for yourself and don't feel pressured. Take time to smell the roses. And when you do have a new pattern, or some fabulousness to show and tell, or a story to share, we'll be there.
ReplyDeleteI hear you, just getting back into it myself, your stuff is awe inspiring!
ReplyDeleteLife is always a juggling act.
ReplyDeleteYou are the only one sick of hearing your own voice. We love to hear you talk.
ReplyDeleteYou are funny and honest and immensely creative, what is not to love?
We will never get tired of hearing from you Jodie - but just do what makes you happy - you are an inspiration! X
ReplyDeleterest assured that you could blog about a muddy puddle and we'd still want to read it.
ReplyDeletesnail, probably yes, my first thought was cricket, but that would be mad, all those skinny bits.
Tally Ho! . . . and I thought you weren't listening!
ReplyDeleteOnly do it when you feel like doing it otherwise you won't want to do it anymore at all - wow, I'm so profound.
ReplyDeleteWe'll all still be here.
Glad to see you got off your butt Jode!! We need people like you to entertain us.
ReplyDeleteI love when you are blog tired it let's us other "wanna be's" take a rest too! DO whatever makes the money! but that also tickles your fancy! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love love love your blog! You are so creative! I really like to see what you're working on and the finished product. You are an inspiration! Figuring out patterns for your little projects isn't as easy as you make it look.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have a little R&R away from blogging....said with a grin 'cos that's what I'm calling my loooong absence... :o) xxx
ReplyDelete1) you are the only blogger I know who did a show and tell about knickers 2) we are both passionate fans of James the snail 3) doesn't really matter what you say, it's still boss 4) you daft sausage
ReplyDeleteI know all about blog tired, I sometimes do not want to write a life story about what I am working on. I follow you on instagram and love the sneak peeks.
