The post in which I do not sell shower cleaner (Tuesday Rotate)

A recent (very weird) series of shower-cleaner emails got me thinking about all the blog-selling stuff and it made me realise that I have fallen off the blog-sharing wagon a bit.
So without further ado - I reinstate Tuesday Rotate (the very sporadic series in which I shut-up about myself for 5 minutes and talk about someone else).
I have been wracking my brain trying to think of the very first time I met Michelle... was it at a "staff meeting"? A crafty gathering? No idea. Suffice to say I met Michelle a few years ago when her business Bok Bok Bgerk had only a few designs in the range and the whole thing could fit in her handbag ! Michelle is local to me so I tend to see her around the traps at markets and things - but to be honest I mostly stalk her on Instagram.
When I saw this little foxy beauty on Instagram I knew it had to be mine, and on Sunday I popped into the Design Market here in town and snaffled it up. I own quite a few of Michelle's brooches now.

How much do I love the feathers? I think a green feather might be next.

Michelle also has an earring of the month club- Don't you think that's a great present idea - I like the bi-monthly one myself. A new pair of earring for someone every two months. A birthday all year long!
Anyway apart from that, Michelle is an awesome , warm, friendly hard working crafter and I thought you might like to meet her.

(This post is not 'gifted', 'sponsored', 'suggested'or 'made possibly by anyone except me...... and if I get one more email about sharing shower cleaning products on my blog, I will review the bloody shower cleaner.
Be careful what you wish for Mr shower cleaning product man)

  6. Just clicked on over and I want ONE OF EACH! Gorgeous work and I love her sense of fun.

So no paid advertising on your blog? My fave blinking adds are those on quilting blogs for butt paste. Perhaps someone thinks we get chair chafe from sitting too long at the darn computer?

    1. Lots of my previously liked blogs are selling all kinds of rubbish and - here is the part that really annoys me - asking people to comment on the product in question, but removing any comments that say anything negative about it. That's really annoying and insulting - the blog writer is helping the company to astroturf, basically.

The last time this happened it was ads for moist toilet tissue all over the place. The product was being marketied very disingenuously - claiming to be healthier than ordinary toilet tissue and easily flushable, neither of which claims was actually true.

Anyone who pointed out that you don't need to wipe your rear with a piece of tissue that's been impregnated with chemicals and perfume (Perfume? On my privates? Um, no thankyou!) got their comments deleted.

But now that I've read your comment, Stephanie, it's all starting make sense! The butt paste is for all those people who have dermatitis and irritation from the moist toilet tissue. They are probably manufactured by the exact same companies!! (kidding, I'm not a conspiracy theorist) :D

  8. Love the fox!
What a great business name. Michelle speaks chook, which is a pretty simple language. Got a soft spot for chickens.
I'd love your review. I'm sure it will be very different to the ads on telly. Funny how in the ads, the houses are either all new or recently renovated. I bet my 30 year old shower would give them a run for their money. ;)

  17. That remonds me of an email I got several months ago from someone offering 'original content' for my blog: she siad she'd write posts 'tailored to my blog' and include mentions of companies she was being paid by. She even (kindly) included links to examples (I declined to click).

I was almost tempted to take her up on the offer just to see how she'd include mention of weight loss products, Toyotas and whatever the other example she gave me in a post about dolls house miniatures... :-)
